David Wagner leaves Huddersfield by mutual consent as Mark Hudson takes over on temporary basis with Terriers sitting bottom of Premier League table

* David Wagner has left Huddersfield Town by mutual consent on Monday evening
* Mark Hudson will take charge of Sunday's home clash with Manchester City
* Wagner leaves the club bottom of the Premier League after a poor run of form
* Chairman Dean Hoyle said he had 'no intention' of sacking Wagner this season
* Sam Allardyce, David Moyes and Alan Pardew have been tipped as replacements

An 'emotionally drained' David Wagner has left relegation-fighting Huddersfield Town in what owner Dean Hoyle described as 'a truly joint decision'.

The Terriers announced that the German, who led Huddersfield to the Premier League and masterminded their stunning top-flight survival last season, had departed the club on Monday night.

Insiders at the Yorkshire club, bottom of the table and eight points from safety, have said that Wagner has felt the strain in recent weeks despite his effervescent appearances in front of the press.

David Wagner has left Huddersfield by mutual consent, the club confirmed on Monday

Mark Hudson, who won promotion with the club, will take charge against Manchester City

Under-23s coach Mark Hudson will take charge for Sunday's clash with Manchester City but is not expected to be offered the role full-time.

Chief executive Julian Winter is known to be a fan of Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder but no approach has yet been made.

Sam Allardyce, who played for Huddersfield, is not understood to be considering an application.

While they acknowledge that the situation is grave, officials at the club retain an element of belief that they can stay in the Premier League and will be looking for a candidate who shares that view.

Wagner, who worked with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, held detailed discussions with Huddersfield's board before the decision was reached.

'As I had said previously, I had no intention of sacking David this season,' said Hoyle. 'Subsequently David - being the great man he is - came to us and made it clear that he needs a break from the rigours of football management.

'We discussed making that change immediately, but he also made it clear that he would give his all for the rest of this season before departing in the summer if we preferred.

'After a long discussion we all felt that David staying at the club until the end of the season was best, but we've kept discussions open and we all now feel that the time is right to part ways.

'I know the term 'mutual consent' is often a byword for the manager being sacked in professional football, but this is a truly joint decision. David has a real, genuine love for this club and, like me, his foremost concern in our talks has been to establish what is best for Huddersfield Town.'

Wagner took over Huddersfield with the club struggling in the Championship in late 2015 before overseeing a stunning turnaround which saw them promoted via the play-offs in 2017.

Last season they defied the odds to stay in the top flight. However, this season has been one of struggle.

On Saturday, they drew 0-0 at Cardiff City after a controversial decision by referee Lee Mason to overturn his decision to give Huddersfield a penalty after consulting with his linesman.

'We have had so many decisions against us and I don't know why,' said an angry Wagner. 'Decisions like this make table and seasons.'

A club insider said: 'David was brilliant at seeing the positives and dealing with the cameras after matches however, it has been noticeable in recent times that he was in need of a break and was emotionally drained.'

Hoyle added: 'Under David's management, we took this Club to the highest position it has held in almost 50 years and created memories that will last forever.

'His achievements will rightly put him up there in Huddersfield Town history alongside great names like Herbert Chapman and Mick Buxton; legendary managers who changed the face of this club.'

Monaco SACK Thierry Henry after just 104 DAYS as Leonardo Jardim is lined up for sensational return to Ligue 1 strugglers... while Cesc Fabregas is left bewildered with club's decision

* Thierry Henry has been sacked Monaco manager after a dismal spell in charge
* The Ligue 1 strugglers have made the call despite giving him the job in October
* Since taking charge, Henry has won just four of his first 20 games as manager
* Cesc Fabregas, who signed this month, will be left bewildered by the decision

Monaco sacked manager Thierry Henry on Thursday night despite giving the former Arsenal striker assurances his job was safe earlier on the very same day.

Remarkably, the club are now set to reappoint their former boss Leonardo Jardim, who Henry replaced as manager only three months ago.

The super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has been heavily involved in Monaco's transfer operations in recent years, is believed to be masterminding Jardim's return.

Henry, who signed a three-year deal in October, has been assured he will receive a full severance pay-off despite being suspended rather than sacked at this stage.

Vadim Vasilyev, the vice-president of the club, is understood to have told Henry he would be kept on at Monaco despite a dreadful run of results that saw the club win only two of their 12 league fixtures under Henry.

After a 5-1 defeat by Strasbourg last weekend, Monaco also lost to Ligue 2 side Metz in the French Cup on Tuesday night. Henry's humiliation during the Strasbourg game was exacerbated when he was forced to apologise for calling a player's grandmother a 'whore' at the Stade Louis II.

The club deliberated over his future during the past week but appeared to have settled on keeping Henry at the club.

Monaco have sacked manager Thierry Henry as he leaves them 19th after 104 days in the role. Since taking the job just under 15 weeks ago, Henry has been unable to turn poor form around

Leonardo Jardim, who Henry replaced, is waiting in the wings to return to the side as manager

Henry has made his own signings this month, signing defender Naldo and also tempting Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea.

Fabregas played with Henry at Arsenal and is understood to be bewildered that only two appearances into his Monaco career, he will now be playing under a new manager. The Spaniard was given no indication during talks with the club that Henry's future was under immediate threat.

The future of sporting director Michael Emenalo, who also used to be at Chelsea, is also now in question as Mendes steps up his involvement with the club.

For Henry, it is a chaotic end to his first individual foray into management. Henry turned down Aston Villa to return to Monaco, where he began his playing days.

Despite the initial excitement at his arrival, his relationship with several players in the dressing room is understood to have deteriorated and some first-team players were sent to train with the reserve team as the coach doubted their commitment.

The timing of Henry's suspension is interesting considering Monaco face Dijon, who sit third bottom in the French top flight, in a relegation six-pointer this weekend.

Henry spoke at a pre-match press conference on Thursday and said: 'Rumours are not a problem. There is always (rumours) in football. The most important thing is to save the club. My future is not a problem. I arrived, the club was in a state.

'I have put a lot of things in the place you haven't seen in the dressing room.'

He also spoke of a 'mental problem' in the dressing room, adding: 'There comes a time when you have to have players who want to save the club and not think about their careers.'

In a short statement on Thursday night, Monaco said Franck Passi would take over from Henry until they decide whether to sack their manager or give him more time.

'AS Monaco announces that it has decided to suspend first-team coach Thierry Henry, they said. 'Franck Passi will train the professional group this Friday.'

Jardim’s return is all the more absurd for the fact that Monaco paid him several million as a payoff only in October when he left the club with the team languishing in the playoff places.

Jardim has remained in contact with Vasilyev and still lives in Monaco with his family. A deal for his comeback is expected to be sealed over the weekend.

Henry held a meeting with his team on Thursday and gave a tactical presentation to his players in the afternoon ahead of the weekend’s fixture against Dijon.

The players were given no indication his future was on the line and it has come as a major shock to the dressing room.

Korban "ganasnya" Premier League...

Leicester Jeblok, Claude Puel Dipecat
Mohammad Resha Pratama - detikSport

Leicester - Performa Leicester City belakang tengah jeblok.

Claude Puel SACKED by Leicester after 4-1 thrashing at home to Crystal Palace with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers favourite to land job

* Claude Puel has been sacked as manager of Leicester after a 4-1 defeat at home
* Foxes have won just four league games at home all season as Puel now departs
* Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is the favourite to be the club's next manager
* Pressure has been mounting on Puel as club have not won since New Year's Day
* Puel was told of the decision by sporting director Jon Rudkin on Sunday morning

Claude Puel has been sacked by Leicester, with Brendan Rodgers the firm favourite to take over.

Leicester have acted after the 4-1 home defeat by Crystal Palace meant the side have lost seven of the last nine games.

The atmosphere among players at Puel's methods is said to be at rock bottom, and the pre-season target of seventh appears a remote prospect. The club are 12th, only eight points above the relegation places.

Claude Puel has been sacked as Leicester City manager after a 4-1 defeat by Crystal Palace. Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is now the firm favourite to take over from the Frenchman

Sportsmail reported before Christmas how Puel's position was precarious due to low morale at Belvoir Drive, with communication, selections, and training said to be problematic.

Victories over Chelsea and Manchester City saved his job but Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has decided a change is required now.

A double from Wilfried Zaha sent Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace side to within two points of Leicester and it proved Puel's final act.

Sportsmail reported before Christmas that low morale put Puel's position in real jeopardy. Communication, selections and training were said to become problematic under Puel's tenure

Claudio Ranieri and Craig Shakespeare were also sacked after failing to win in six consecutive matches.

Sportsmail understands Rodgers has been Leicester's prime target for a number of weeks, and the club will now try to convince the former Liverpool boss to leave Celtic immediately.

It had been thought the 46-year-old wanted to see out the campaign in Scotland.

A Leicester statement on Sunday read: 'The club would like to thank Claude for his efforts in leading the team during his 16 months in the role and wish him well in his future career.

'Assistant Manager Jacky Bonnevay also departs with the club’s best wishes.

'First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler, supported by the club’s established backroom staff, will assume responsibility for the senior squad while the club begins the process of appointing a new manager.'

Puel was in charge with the club in mourning back in October following the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

The Thai businessman died along with four others in a devastating helicopter crash after the Foxes' 1-1 draw with West Ham at the King Power Stadium.

Puel has paid the price for a sequence of excruciating results, with Leicester winning just four league games at home all season.

Only three clubs out of 92 in the Football League have failed to win since New Year's Day: Rotherham, Huddersfield and Leicester. This was a fourth home defeat in a row, a run which includes losses to Southampton and Cardiff.

The King Power Stadium deserted as Wilfried Zaha slammed in Crystal Palace's fourth and those who stayed booed loudly.

Puel has tried to alter the team's style of play and lower its age but the product has been confusing, with some good performances undermined by mistakes and a lack of clarity. Leicester believe he did not get the most from a talented squad.

The Frenchman was told his fate by sporting director Jon Rudkin at the training ground on Sunday morning and he has said his goodbyes.

Claudio Ranieri SACKED as Fulham boss after the club's concerns over his outdated coaching methods... with Scott Parker made caretaker manager

* Fulham sacked manager Claudio Ranieri after internal talks on Thursday
* Ranieri was pushed closer to the exit door following defeat by Southampton
* Assistant Scott Parker will now take over from Ranieri on an interim basis

Fulham have sacked Claudio Ranieri amid a backdrop of concerns over his 'outdated' coaching methods.

The Italian was hauled into a meeting with sporting director Tony Khan on Thursday morning where he was informed of the decision.

Scott Parker, who was part of Ranieri's backroom team, will take charge on a caretaker basis.

Sportsmail understands club chiefs discussed sacking Ranieri ahead of the clash against West Ham on February 22, but a decision was made to give 67-year-old games against the Hammers - which they lost - and Wednesday's loss at Southampton to turn the club's fortunes around.

It was decided after the defeat at St Mary's that Ranieri would be sacked, his departure confirmed on Thursday afternoon.

Ranieri arrived at the club's Motspur Park training centre on Thursday to take a recovery session, but following a meeting of the board at the club's Surrey HQ, the veteran boss was informed of the club's decision.

Further meetings then took place with Parker, who was formally offered the role on an interim basis.

Ranieri's dismissal comes amid uncertainty regarding his methods from members of the playing squad.

Sources claim players feel Ranieri's approach is archaic and that there was no clear philosophy from the manager.

They also believe his tactics were too pragmatic, particularly given the club are in such deep relegation danger.

Claudio Ranieri has been sacked by Fulham after a poor spell in charge at Craven Cottage. Fulham are 10 points off safety after a run of seven defeats in their last eight league games

That is not to say they dislike Ranieri. The players warmed to the Italian during his short three month spell in charge.

The squad were particularly impressed with how the former Leicester manager dealt with the disruptive influence of Aboubakar Kamara, who was arrested at the club's training ground after trying to confront chief executive Alistair Mackintosh - a story exclusively revealed by Sportsmail.

Ranieri made clear in no uncertain terms that the striker, who had upset numerous players including Aleksandar Mitrovic, Andre Schurrle and Joe Bryan, had no future at Fulham during a fiery squad meeting.

Ranieri, in front of the rest of the squad, told Kamara he was no longer part of the first-team group - banishing him to the Under 23s - and to inform his advisors to find him a new club as soon as possible. Kamara has since joined Yeni Malatyaspor.

The Italian was well respected by his players and staff, but there was grave concerns his approach hindered the club's attempts to avoid relegation.

Parker accepted the opportunity to replace Ranieri on a caretaker basis, and will face the media for the first time on Friday ahead of Sunday's west London derby against Chelsea.

The former England international could put himself in the running to take the job on a full time basis if he can rally the squad between now and the end of the season.

Nevertheless, Fulham will now start identifying candidates for the role of Ranieri's long-term replacement. Steve Clarke, currently manager at Kilmarnock, is understood to be an early contender.

Whoever gets the job on a full-time basis will likely have to contend with a summer player exodus. Midfielder Jean Seri is ready to consider his future if Fulham are relegated, while Ryan Sessegnon will interest a number of the Premier League's top clubs ahead of next season.

Fulham have inserted relegation pay cuts in players contracts to protect themselves financially if they fail to beat the drop.

In a statement Khan, virtually conceded Fulham will be playing Championship football next season - by indicating Parker's immediate job is to 'stabilise, grow and rediscover' the club - with no mention at all of staying in the division.

'Following our discussion, Claudio Ranieri agreed to my decision that a change was in the best interest of everyone. No surprise to me, Claudio was a perfect gentleman, as always.

'I am asking Scott Parker to serve as our Caretaker Manager. Scott's immediate assignment is merely to help us stabilise, grow and rediscover ourselves as a football club. If Scott can answer that challenge, and our players respond to the opportunity, perhaps victories will follow in the months ahead.

'What's most important at this moment, however, is to regroup in a smart and deliberate manner that will serve our long-term vision for sustainable success. If we're able to do that and win some matches to make a stand late in the season, all the better.'

On his dismissal, he Ranieri added: 'I am obviously disappointed with the recent results and that we could not build on the good start we made following my appointment.'
