Mourinho keen to remain at Real Madrid: If the club want me, I will stay

The Portuguese coach claims he will continue his spell at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond this summer if he can reach an agreement with his current employers

Jose Mourinho claims he will stay at Real Madrid - providing the Spanish side wish him to remain at the club next season.

Mourinho led Madrid to victory in the Clasico against Barcelona on Saturday to close in on the Liga title, but saw their Champions League hopes dashed as they went out on penalties to Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

But after that disappointment, the Portuguese boosted fans of the Spanish side with a positive message on Wednesday.

"I will continue if the club thinks that I can still give something and if the players think so as well. – and I know that the club have faith in me, and I think the players do so as well. I feel like the empathy is increasing," he told reporters after the game.

"If I have anything in my mind, it is to try to win with these players. Winning the Copa del Rey last year was important and if we win the league this year that will be important too. Two [Champions League] semi-finals is also not bad but we want more.

"My feeling is that we still have the ability to grow as a team and the club has room to grow too. Clubs have to adapt to the evolution of time and to changing mentalities. A fantastic car in the 1980s is not fantastic in the 1990s or the 2000s."

The 49-year-old also claimed winning La Liga would represent a successful season for his side.

"We need six more points and there are four more games left to do it," he explained. "We are ahead on our own and we have earned that. If we win the championship, it will have been a good season."

He also added that he was proud of his players following their semi-final exit on penalties.

"It hurts me because they have worked so hard to get here," he continued. "The players should go home tonight, kiss their wives and their children and hold their heads up high."

Madrid resume La Liga action on Sunday when they host Sevilla.

Real Madrid target Aguero as Mourinho prepares swap deal with Higuain

Real Madrid will offer Manchester City up to Ł8.5million plus striker Gonzalo Higuain in a deal which would see Sergio Aguero move to the Bernabeu.

Jose Mourinho has put Aguero at the top of his summer wishlist, and would have been encouraged by the recent spat between the player at City boss Roberto Mancini over the Argentine's 'silly' injury.

Furious Mancini has ordered an inhouse inquest into how Aguero has been sidelined yet again with foot blisters.

After the weekend slip up against Sunderland, in which City drew 3-3 to hand the title initiative to Manchester United, the boss said: 'If we'd had Aguero we would have won.'

Mancini was at pains to point out the absence had absolutely nothing to do with suggestions he had been hurt while fooling around with his three-year-old son's mini-motorbike.

For the second successive game Aguero was ruled out because an anaesthetic freeze spray, applied after a knock against Chelsea 11 days ago, has caused his foot to swell and blister badly.

'It is a stupid injury, but not his fault,' said Mancini. 'I am really disappointed with what has happened to him.'

He added: 'It's impossible that we can lose a player to a stupid situation like this.'

Aguero only moved to the Etihad last summer from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth Ł38m and for the most part has been a success, scoring 17 times in the Premier League, including two on debut against Swansea.

Father-in-law Maradona, to Radio de la Red: 'Kun has to play for Real Madrid. Even though he is flying at City, the best thing would have been to sign for Madrid. He made a mistake.

'Now, as he is doing so well, it will be difficult to get him from City. However if Madrid want someone, they get them. Florentino has no limits. It's a question of convincing City - but not with money because they have plenty of that.'

Higuain has also enjoyed an impressive goal return this term but remains behind Frenchman Karim Benzema in the pecking order at Madrid.

The striker, who is an international team-mate of Aguero, has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea as well as clubs in Italy, including Juventus.

Madrid-based newspaper AS claim Aguero, the son-in-law of legendary forward Diego Maradona, has already discussed a potential move back to the Spanish capital with team-mates, and that there is a growing feeling a move will materialise this summer.

The report adds that a strong relationship between Real and City's owners - Florentino Perez and Sheikh Mansour - enhances the chances of a deal going through, while Mancini falters on his own prime target, Arsenal's Robin van Persie.

The Italian has made no secret of his admiration for the Dutchman - who is the Premier League's leading marksman - but has been met with resistance from Arsenal and the player's family.

Mancini, meanwhile, will listen to offers for Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez.

Madrid Ikutan Berburu Biglia

Raih La Liga, Higuain Isyaratkan Hengkang?

“Sepertinya setiap pemain selalu ingin bermain.

Mourinho: Ozil will make history at Real

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho believes playmaker Mesut Ozil has what it takes to become one of the club's all-time greats.

Ozil has been a star for Los Blancos since moving from Werder Bremen in 2010, racking up 17 goals and 48 assists in 105 appearances.

Already, the €15million fee Madrid reportedly forked out for his services appear a real bargain and Mourinho believes the Germany international could go on and emulate two greats of the club.

"He is the best number 10 in the world," the Portuguese tactician said at the Sustainable Success & Leadership Conference in Ankara.

"Everyone loves him and sees a bit of [Luis] Figo and [Zinedine] Zidane in him. He will make history at Real Madrid."

Ozil played a key role for Mourinho this season as Real ended a four-year wait for a La Liga triumph, something he believes was made all the more special because of the margin they beat Barcelona by.

"Real Madrid finished with 100 points; Barcelona with 91," the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss added. "That's a point difference as large as in many of the minor leagues.

"You don't come across this kind of situation in the major leagues. We can use England, Italy and France as an example. Nine points is a very big gap.

"We should also not forget that we were fighting against the world's best team in the league."

Mourinho has now won domestic league titles in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain.

Default Real Madrid Close In on Lucas Moura

Lucas Moura close to signing for Real Madrid thanks to old Neymar debt

Jose Mourinho's side look set to capture the Brazilian midfielder this summer, with the move facilitated by a debt owed by agent Wagner Ribeiro to Real president Florentino Perez

Real Madrid will look to take advantage of a loan made to Brazilian agent Wagner Ribeiro to tie up the summer signing of midfielder Lucas Moura, Goal.com can reveal.

Madrid coach Jose Mourinho was in Hamburg at the weekend to watch the Sao Paulo star in action for his country in a friendly against Denmark, while also casting his eye on talented full-back Danilo.

But with a midfield partner for Xabi Alonso remaining a priority, the Portuguese coach is stepping up his efforts to sign Moura, and the player's parents have already met and dined with club president Florentino Perez.

Sao Paulo are keen to hang on to the 19-year-old for two more years, but Madrid hope to push through a deal this summer and the player's family have already started negotiations with the Santiago Bernabeu side.

Ribeiro has been a key figure in the arrival of several Brazilians in Madrid, including Kaka, Robinho and Julio Baptista. The agent formerly represented Neymar, too, and attempted to strike a deal to bring the teenage sensation to Real last year.

As Goal.com reported in March, Florentino loaned money to Ribeiro as the agent went through a difficult divorce, with Neymar's proposed move to Madrid supposed to settle that debt.

But the move collapsed and while furious at the outcome of the saga, Perez now hopes to take advantage of the monies owed to him as he seeks Ribeiro's assistance in bringing in Moura, an attacking midfielder who has a strong shot and is also comfortable with defensive duties.

With Ribeiro working on behalf of the capital club and the family already won over by the offer from Spain, Madrid now need to convince Sao Paulo president Juvenal Juvencio, who only days ago revealed he had rejected a €32 million offer for the talented midfielder, thought to be from Chelsea.

Default Agent: Higuain Not Leaving Real Madrid

Higuain not leaving Real Madrid, says agent

The player's representative has ended all speculation about the attacker's future by stressing that his client is going nowhere this summer

Norberto Recasens, the agent of Gonzalo Higuain, has insisted that the Argentina international has no intention of leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old is continually being linked with a move away from the Liga champions ahead of the 2012-13 campaign, but his representative has now made it clear that a summer move is not an option for the former River Plate star.

"Gonzalo will not leave Real Madrid. He will remain at the club to fulfil his contract," Recasens stated to Goal.com.

"We had offers from other teams as well, but he will stay at Madrid.

"He is very happy at the club. It's not like he's playing at some third division team. We're talking about Madrid here. Of course, he wants regular first team action, but he's happy here."

Higuain has a contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2016.
