FA Sanksi Barton

London - Atas insiden pemukulannya kepada Morten Gamst Pedersen, FA pun akhirnya memberikan sanksi kepada Joey Barton. Barton pun diberikan waktu membela diri untuk meringankan sanksinya.

Kejadian itu terjadi di awal babak kedua laga Newcastle United kontra Blackburn Rovers, Kamis (11/11/2010) dinihari WIB. Barton tampak terlihat meninju perut Pedersen hingga si pemain jatuh tersungkur. Tidak jelas apa yang melatar belakangi aksi gelandang berusia 28 tahun itu.

Beruntung, wasit tidak melihat kejadian itu sehingga Barton pun lolos dari hukuman. Akan tetapi, rekaman pertandingan di televisi dapat melihat dengan jelas insiden buruk tersebut.

Melihat kejadian itu FA pun melakukan investigasi pada Barton dan mereka pun mengategorikan sebagai tindakan tidak terpuji. Alhasil Barton otomatis dikenai skorsing larang tiga kali bermain namun ia masih diberi kesempatan untuk menyanggahnya hingga besok.

"FA menjatuhkan sanksi kepada gelandang Newcastle United Joey Barton atas tindakan tak terpujinya saat laga timnya kontra Blackbrun Rovers, Rabu (10/11) atau Kamis dinihari WIB," bunyi pernyataan FA yang dikutip Sky Sports.

"Barton punya waktu hingga Jumat 12 November pukul 6 sore waktu setempat untuk memberikan keterangannya menurut aturan FA. Jika tidak ia berarti menerima sanksi itu dan akan absen dalam tiga pertandingan," lanjut pernyataan FA itu.

Barton masih bisa bermain saat Newcastle menghadapi Fulham akhir pekan karena hearing baru akan dilakukan minggu depan. Namun jika tak ada respon dari Barton, maka eks pemain Manchester City itu akan absen melawan Fulham, Bolton Wanderers dan Chelsea.

Saat masih memperkuat Manchester City, Barton pernah mendekam di sel tahanan selama setengah tahun karena terlibat penyerangan di sebuah restoran di Liverpool dua tahun lalu. Masih di tahun yang sama Barton juga sempat diskors empat bulan karena menyerang mantan rekannya Ousmane Dabo

Newcastle - Tidak ada pembelaan dari Joey Barton atas aksi kekerasan yang ia lakukan. Ia pun menerima tuduhan dari FA serta minta maaf kepada Morten Gamst Pedersen yang jadi korban kekerasannya.

Sebelumnya pemain berusia 28 tahun tersebut didakwa oleh federasi sepakbola Inggris FA atas tuduhan melakukan kekerasan dalam partai Newcastle United, yang Barton bela, kontra Blackburn.

Dalam partai yang berakhir dengan kemenangan 2-1 Blackburn atas Newcastle tersebut, Barton kedapatan melayangkan pukulan ke arah dada Pedersen. Hukuman larangan main di tiga partai pun mengancam.

"Aku mengaku salah dalam insiden itu dan menerima tuduhan dari FA. Aku juga ingin minta maaf kepada Chris Hughton, rekan-rekan setimku, suporter kami dan tentu kepada Pedersen dan Blackburn Rovers," ucapnya di Sporting Life.

Sebelum kejadian tersebut, Barton memang dikenal sebagai bad boy lapangan hijau akibat emosinya yang acap meledak-ledak dan berujung pada kekerasan. Barton sebenarnya mengaku kalau musim ini ia sudah berusaha untuk mengendalikan temperamen, kendati memang bereaksi dengan buruk saat memukul Pedersen.

Kini Barton akan absen di sejumlah laga dan itu jelas akan ikut merugikan Newcastle, apalagi Houghton selaku manajer cukup mengandalkan tenaganya musim ini.

"Kami menerima hukuman dari FA dan tentu saja kami kecewa bakal kehilangan Joey untuk tiga partai. Ia sudah bekerja keras musim ini, tapi ia tahu tak sepantasnya bereaksi seperti itu pada hari Rabu lalu," terang Houghton

French free agent Pires to join Aston Villa

LONDON, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Former France midfielder Robert Pires will join Aston Villa on a free transfer later this week, the Premier League club said on Tuesday.

The 37-year-old has been training with Arsenal having been released by Spanish club Villarreal earlier in the year.

Pires, who won two Premier League titles during a six-year spell with Arsenal and has winners medals from France’s successes at the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, will join up with Villa’s French manager Gerard Houllier.

“I know the boss and (Arsenal manager) Arsene Wenger are very friendly and I believe he’s going to join us in the next two or three days,” Villa assistant manager Gary McAllister said on the club website (www.avfc.co.uk).

FA to investigate Williamson

Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson finds himself under scrutiny from the Football Association following his challenge on Bolton's Johan Elmander at the weekend.

Williamson appeared to barge Elmander to the ground in the first half of Bolton's 5-1 victory and it is reported that referee Howard Webb did not see the incident, meaning the FA can investigate using video evidence.

An FA spokesman said: "We will be looking at the footage and establishing firstly if the referee saw it and secondly, if he didn't, whether he would have shown a red card if he had."

Newcastle later lost fellow defender Fabricio Coloccini to a red card after Webb caught him elbowing Elmander in the face.

If Williamson is punished by the FA then Newcastle will be without their first-choice centre backs for Saturday's game against Chelsea.

Piquionne akan memperoleh kenang-kenangan berupa bola T90 Tracer warna emas, yang diproduksi secara terbatas oleh Nike. T90 Tracer adalah bola keluaran Nike edisi musim 2010/2011.

Hadiah spesial itu diberikan untuk Piquonne setelah penyerang West Ham United itu mencetak gol tunggal ke gawang Tottenham Hotspur hari Sabtu (25/9/2010) lalu, dan itu adalah gol ke-10.000 dengan bola Nike.

Kerja sama Nike dan Premier League dimulai sejak musim 2000/2001, dan Mark Venus adalah pemain pertama yang mencetak gol dengan bola keluaran pabrikan raksasa asal Amerika Serika itu. Venus membuatnya untuk Ipswich Town ke gawang Tottenham Hotspur di hari pembukaan kompetisi.

Catatan lain seputar penggunaan bola Nike untuk Premier League adalah, Fabrizio Ravanelli adalah pencetak gol ke-100 dengan bola itu, saat memperkuat Derby County melawan Blackburn Rovers di Pride Park Stadium di musim 2001/2002.

Penyerang legendaris Arsenal Dennis Bergkamp mencetak gol ke-5.000 saat timnya bertanding melawan Middlesbrough di Riverside Stadium di musim 2005/2006.

Dilansir Dailymail, Cristiano Ronaldo adalah pemain yang membukukan gol paling banyak dalam satu musim dengan bola Nike, yakni 31 buah di musim 2006/2007 untuk Manchester United. Adapun Fernando Torres merupakan pemain debutan yang mencetak gol terbanyak dengan bola tersebut dalam satu musim, saat mengemas 24 gol untuk Liverpool di musim 2007/2008

We all know the feeling, the final moments, the rising tension as another ball is pumped into the box as the goalkeeper sprints up field to provide yet another aerial threat. We’ve all felt the jubilation of our team stealing it at the last and the despondence of seeing three points cruelly and no doubt unfairly snatched away.

There have been some memorable late dramas over the course of the Premier League; defining moments that are now etched into our football memory, signifying the reasons why we are in love with the beautiful game. Stan Collymore: Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle 1996
Voted as game of the decade in a Premier League poll, this ding-dong battle, in hindsight at least, defined the losing side that season. Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle United were flying high in the league and odds on to claim their first title in over 70 years. However, despite leading 2-1 and 3-2, Robbie Fowler’s equaliser sent the game into stoppage time all square. Cue Stan the Man to smash the winner past Pavel Srnicek, as an exasperated Keegan flopped over the Anfield hoardings, as it dawned on him it may not be there year after all.



Michael Owen: Manchester United 4-3 Manchester City 2009
Proof that derbies can be entertaining games and a lesson for Roberto Mancini following the drab Eastlands encounter this season. The match saw the sorcerer against the apprentice as Mark Hughes and the City millions rolled into Old Trafford. City came from behind three times in the game and looked to have nicked a point themselves when a wayward Rio Ferdinand pass allowed Craig Bellamy to grab his second of the game and tie the match at three goals apiece. But as is so often the case, it’s not over until Fergie says so and in the sixth minute of stoppage time Michael Owen popped up to poke in a dramatic winner and win over any doubters the former Liverpool man may have had.



Nwankwo Kanu: Chelsea 2-3 Arsenal 1999
For seventy five minutes it was all going so well for the home side with two headed goals from Dan Petrescu and Tore Andre Flo giving them a comfortable and deserved lead. With Dennis Bergkamp missing from the side, the Gunners lacked a creative spark but were given hope when Kanu turned in a Marc Overmars cross. The big Nigerian was on target again ten minutes later as Arsenal looked to be escaping with an unlikely draw. However the gangly forward had one more trick up his sleeve, jinking past the outrushing De Goey and then curling the ball into the top corner from the tightest of angles.



Nolberto Solano: Leeds 3-4 Newcastle 2001
Bobby Robson took his high flying young guns to Elland Road knowing that a win would keep them at the top of the league at Christmas. The game also saw the return of Lee Bowyer to the starting line up and it was the controversial midfielder’s goal that cancelled out Craig Bellamy’s opener. It got better for the home side as strikes from Ian Harte and Mark Viduka gave them what looked like an unassailable lead. But this was the era when comebacks were ten a penny on Tyneside and Robbie Elliott’s 59th minute header gave the Magpies hope. Captain Shearer levelled from the spot twelve minutes later and sparked a furore between the sides as they both went looking for the win. With a draw looking increasingly likely, Nolberto Solano popped up in the ninetieth minute to slide the ball past Nigel Martyn and complete a memorable comeback for the men in black and white.



Hernan Crespo: Wigan 0-1 Chelsea 2005
The Special One started his second season in England with an unenviable trip to Premier League new boys Wigan. Pre-match betting had suggested a comfortable opening day for the champions but Paul Jewell’s Wigan defied the odds a produced a top draw performance from the first minute to last. In what was an entertaining 0-0 at the time, Mourinhio attempted to turn the tide in his favour at half time with £30 million worth of substitutes in the shape of Joe Cole and Shaun Wright Phillips. Yet, Wigan continued to stifle the Blues and but for a couple of good saves from Petr Cech could have pinched all three points themselves. It looked to be one of those baron days in front of goal until Hernan Crespo hit a sublime shot into the roof of the net to give Chelsea their first win of what would be another championship winning campaign.



Roman Pavlyuchenko: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Liverpool 2008
This could well be one of the most important goals on the list, not just because it took Spurs off the bottom of the league, which in turn was the catalyst for their cataclysmic rise to modern day- it also helped create Harry’s immortal ‘two points from eight games’ phrase which was uttered after almost every win during this season. The game itself saw Liverpool as strong favourites and this was further emphasised when Dirk Kuyt gave them a 3rd minute lead. But as we now know this was not the Ramos Tottenham and it was that renewed vigour and intensity that saw Jamie Carragher stick the ball in his own net for a home side equaliser. A point would have sufficed, but Pavlyuchenko’s late winner sent the ‘Lane delirious and well and truly started the Redknapp revolution.



Steve Bruce: Manchester United 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday 1993
As United marched toward their first title since 1967 the Owls proved a sticky opponent for the Red Devils and went into the final five minutes of the game with a one goal advantage thanks to John Sheridan. As nerves began to be frayed and fingernails rapidly diminishing Steve Bruce headed in an equaliser with only four minutes left on the clock. An injury to the referee and the introduction to the Premier League of “Fergie Time” meant that a further seven minutes were added and it was that man again who doubled his tally.



Gary McAllister: Everton 2-3 Liverpool 2001
If ever there was a lesson in how to write yourself into folklore, then this is it. The game looked destined to finish 2-2 when David Unsworth scored from the penalty spot with only nine minutes left on the clock. But the former Leeds man had other ideas when he was presented with an opportunity after a foul on Gregory Vignal. The Everton defence were excepting the ball to be whipped in to one of the advanced centre halves, however McAllister brilliantly curled the ball into the corner from 45 yards, catching the unfortunate Paul Gerrard out of position, and ensuring pride for the red half of Merseyside.



Wayne Rooney: Everton 2-1 Arsenal 2002
With all that’s gone on recently it’s difficult to remember Wayne Rooney as a fresh faced youngster (well as fresh as possible). Sporting his later inflammatory ‘once a blue always a blue ’ t-shirt the young Scouse forward expertly beat David Seaman with a goal that had Arsene Wenger proclaiming; “Rooney is the biggest English talent I have seen since I arrived in England.” It’s not often that Mr Wenger gets things wrong and personal misdemeanours aside there’s no doubting that he is not far off the mark. This goal ended Arsenal’s 30 game unbeaten run and both club &country will hope Rooney can start reproducing these magic moments.



Graham Fenton: Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Newcastle United 1996
Just five days after the fateful 4-3 at Liverpool, the Toon Army once again fell victim to another late show and this time the perpetrator was one of their own. Wallsend born Graham Fenton, assisted by future Geordie hero Alan Shearer, struck in the 86th & 89thminute to compound even more misery on Kevin Keegan’s side. The result left the Magpies six points behind leaders Manchester United and forced Keegan to admit that the title may well now be out of their grasp. Two late goals in a week ultimately ended a title dream as Mr Squeaky Bum Time himself once again ran out victorious.

Newcastle - Berakhir sudah tugas Chris Hughton di kursi manajer Newcastle United. Ini terjadi usai pihak klub mendepak pelatih berkebangsaan Inggris itu. Apa alasan dari pemecatan ini?

"Newcastle United hari ini mengumumkan telah mengakhiri kerjasama dengan manajer Chris Hughton. Pelatih kiper Paul Barron juga meninggalkan klub hari ini," demikian keterangan klub berjuluk The Magpies itu melalui situs resminya, Senin (6/12/2010) malam WIB.

Apa alasan Newcastle mendepak manajer yang membawa klub promosi ke Premier League itu? "Dengan menyesal, dewan direksi kini merasa bahwa klub membutuhkan seseorang dengan pengalaman manajerial untuk memajukan klub," demikian keterangan tim yang bermarkas di St. James Park itu.

Hughton mulai bekerja untuk Newcastle sejak tahun 2008 sebagai caretaker. Pria kelahiran 11 Desember 1958 itu selanjutnya ditunjuk sebagai arsitek tetap pada awal musim 2009/2010.

Belum diumumkan siapa pengganti dari Hughton. Saat ini Newcastle tengah memulai pencarian untuk bos anyar bagi Andy Carroll dkk.

Sejumlah nama yang dihubungkan sebagai manajer anyar The Toon Army adalah Alan Pardew, Slaven Bilic, Paul Lambert, dan Martin O'Neill.

Newcastle sendiri saat ini ada di peringkat 11 klasemen sementara Liga Primer dengan nilai 19 hasil dari lima kemenangan, empat seri, dan tujuh kalah. Dalam lima partai terakhir di Liga Inggris, Newcastle tak pernah menang.

Jol resigns from Ajax post

Martin Jol has resigned as manager of Ajax, fuelling links with the vacant position at Newcastle.

Newcastle took the shock decision to axe Chris Hughton on Monday afternoon, citing a desire to bring in a manager with greater experience. Peter Beardsley has been placed in temporary charge while the club seek out a successor and a host of names including Martin O'Neill and Alan Pardew have been linked with the role.

Jol was prominent in a number of bookmakers' lists for the position and he would now appear free to discuss his future with any club after tendering his resignation at the Amsterdam ArenA.

Ajax announced on their website that former Holland defender Frank de Boer would take temporary charge until the winter break, while Jol claimed the criticism the club have got for their stuttering form has caused unrest in the squad.

The former Hamburg and Tottenham boss told the club's official website: ''With pain in my heart I say goodbye to this wonderful club.'We started something last summer that I would have finished. But I have come to realise that the expectations after last season were too high.

''We cannot meet such expectations. The amount of criticism that the club has had to endure daily has led to unrest in the club and among players.

''I take this decision consciously before AC Milan v Ajax (in the Champions League) is played (on Wednesday).

''The coming weeks are very important and I sincerely hope that something happens in the squad to make it in the short term a winning team.''

The Amsterdammers finished second in the league last term, a point behind FC Twente, scoring 106 goals and with a staggering goal difference of plus 86. They have struggled to repeat their end-of-season form in the early part of this campaign, though.
