Default Alex Telles

Manchester United agree £15.4m deal for Alex Telles and Porto defender will have his medical on Sunday night... as will free agent Edinson Cavani

* Man United have finally got over the line in negotiations for Alex Telles
* Porto have accepted a bid of £15.4million for the 27-year-old Brazilian defender
* Telles was spotted in the back of a car in Manchester on Sunday ahead of move
* Telles will have his medical on Sunday night ahead of his move to Old Trafford
* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also close to signing Edinson Cavani and Facuno Pellestri

Manchester United have finally agreed an £15.4million deal with Porto for full back Alex Telles with the 27-year-old due to have a medical later today.

Telles, who was spotted hiding in the back of a car in Manchester ahead of his imminent move, looks set to join the Red Devils as does free agent Edinson Cavani - also having his medical on Sunday night.

United are also looking to sign another Uruguayan, 18-year-old Penarol winger Facundo Pellestri, and he will have his medical check on Monday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been desperate for a new left back to bolster his defensive options, and the United boss now looks to have got his man in Brazil international Telles, who they will pay £13.6m up front for plus £1.8m in add-ons.

With 13 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season, Telles' attacking prowess makes him an attractive option for United and the defender also helped his side keep 20 clean sheets in the Primeira Liga in the 2019-20 campaign.

Solskjaer has been frustrated in his attempts to strengthen his squad for the new campaign with Donny van de Beek the only new arrival at Old Trafford.

But the Norwegian is finally set to see another player walk through the door, in addition to ex-PSG striker Edinson Cavani who has agreed a two-year deal with the club.

As Sportsmail revealed first, talks advanced quickly on Saturday and the Uruguay international will undergo a medical over the next 24 hours prior to signing a deal until 2022 on wages of around £210,000 a week after tax.

He is expected to be confirmed as a United player on Monday.

Meanwhile, Pellistri will finalise a £10million move from Penarol, who made his professional debut for Penarol in August 2019 at the age of 17 after impressing manager Diego Forlan and he scored his first goal three months later.

Forlan, who played for United between 2002 and 2004, recommended him to his former club and the Red Devils have fought off strong competition from Real Madrid, Juventus and Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Lyon and Boca Juniors.

There could still be more new signings before the window shuts on Monday. Talks will continue for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho but the Bundesliga side are refusing to lower their £108m asking price.
