Manchester United starlet Amad Diallo pays tribute to former team-mate Willy Ta Bi after Atalanta youngster passed away at the age of 21 following long battle with liver cancer

* Atalanta confirmed on Tuesday that Willy Ta Bi passed away after cancer battle
* The Serie A side paid an emotional tribute to their talented young midfielder
* Amad Diallo, his former youth team-mate, expressed his heartbreak at the news

Atalanta confirmed that highly-rated youngster Willy Ta Bi has passed away at the age of just 21 following a long battle with cancer.

After the Serie A side took to social media to confirm the tragic news after he died of a tumour that had attacked the liver, Manchester United wonderkid Amad Diallo also paid tribute to his former Atalanta youth team-mate.

Atalanta wrote: 'We share with deep emotion the pain of family members for the untimely death of Willy Braciano Ta Bi.

'Italian Spring Champion in 2019, he saw his dream come to an end too soon... Hi Willy, rest in peace.'

Atalanta youngster Willy Ta Bi passed away aged 21 following a long battle with cancer. Amad Diallo paid an emotional tribute to his former Atalanta youth team-mate on Tuesday, with a picture of them together along with a message and a broken heart emoji

Diallo immediately took to Instagram following the news, writing: 'Rest in peace big brother', alongside a broken heart emoji.

In recent months, Ta Bi had returned to his homeland in Ivory Coast before his tragic death.

The youngster, who had played for Ivory Coast at youth level, had not featured competitively for Atalanta since June 14, 2019 after he was diagnosed with cancer.

The Serie A side, who face Real Madrid at the last-16 of the Champions League on Wednesday evening, also issued a further statement following his passing.

Atalanta confirmed the news on Tuesday, writing 'he saw his dream come to an end too soon'

'President Antonio Percassi and the whole Atalanta family are deeply saddened by the untimely death of Willy Braciano Ta Bi,' the club wrote.

'A cruel destiny interrupted a dream that began with the Nerazzurri shirt in January 2019 too soon.

'He only needed a few months to carve out a leading role in the Primavera and help bring the Scudetto back to Bergamo, but above all to leave a great memory.'

The midfielder moved to Atalanta from ASEC Mimosa - the most successful club in Ivory Coast - in 2019 and helped the youth team achieve Primavera 1 glory in the same year.

Ta Bi captained the Ivory Coast at youth level and represented his country at the Francophone Games in 2017.

Owen Hargreaves hails Amad Diallo's 'fabulous' impact after the Manchester United star executed a sublime header in Europa League draw with AC Milan... as Paul Scholes lauds youngster for 'brilliant' skill in scoring opener

* Owen Hargreaves has hailed Amad Diallo's 'fabulous' impact for Man United
* Diallo, 18, was introduced at half time, replacing the injured Anthony Martial
* The teenager made an instant impact with an impressive header to score
* Paul Scholes praised the 'brilliant' skill following Hargreaves' plaudits
* United were held to a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in their Europa League clash

Owen Hargreaves has hailed Amad Diallo after the teenager executed a 'fabulous' piece of skill to put Manchester United ahead in their 1-1 draw with AC Milan on Thursday.

The teenager, signed from Atalanta for £37m, was introduced as a half time substitute for the Europa League round of 16 clash with their Italian rivals, following the injury of Anthony Martial.

Diallo, 18, made an instant impact for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, with Bruno Fernandes picking out the youngster's darting run that unlocked the Milan defence.

Owen Hargreaves has hailed the 'fabulous' impact of Amad Diallo following his stunning goal. Diallo, 18, made an instant impact as a half time sub, scoring a brilliant header on Thursday

With the ball hanging in the air, the Ivorian adjusted his body to flick a header over the onrushing Gianluigi Donnarumma and give the Red Devils the lead at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has been reticent to throw Diallo into first team action, with the likes of Dan James and Mason Greenwood ahead of the youngster at present, but former United stars Scholes and Hargreaves heaped praise on the teenager's impact.

'Fabulous to see a young player come on and have an impact on the game.,' Hargreaves said on BT Sport.

The teenager adjusted his body to meet a Bruno Fernandes ball and flick it over Donnarumma. And Hargreaves said the 'fabulous moment' will be 'huge for him' after Thursday's game

'This is what Bruno [Fernandes] does best. That is an amazing run for a young kid. The execution of that.

'A good pass and a good run beats a defence. That is a fabulous moment for the young man.

'Nice to see him come on and have a really good impact in a big moment. To get a big goal will be huge for him.'

Scholes explained the technique used by Diallo was 'brilliant' in engineering an opportunity from a difficult ball from his Portuguese team-mate.

The £37m man has had limited game time but has left United fans excited about his future

'You have to adjust to where the ball is coming to him,' the former midfielder said.

'That is the best he could have done with that ball. Great run from Diallo. He has had to improvise, that back header was brilliant.'

United were unable to hold onto their one-goal advantage, with a late headed goal from Simon Kjaer leaving the tie in the balance heading into the second leg at the San Siro.

Amad Diallo reveals that his preferred position is on the right wing but insists that he will play anywhere he's asked to get into Manchester United's first team

* Amad Diallo only made eight appearances for Manchester United last season
* Diallo scored his first goal for the Red Devils during their 1-1 draw with AC Milan
* The versatile 18-year-old can play anywhere across the forward line

Amad Diallo has confirmed his desire to play on the right wing for Manchester United but insists he's happy to play in any position he's asked to.

The 18-year-old joined the Red Devils from Serie A side Atlanta in a deal worth up £32 million in the January transfer window; but only made eight appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side last season.

Diallo played across the forward line for Atalanta but told UTD Unscripted that he favours a right-side role.

'I play here like I played in Italy. Obviously, coaches set up teams in different ways but playing wide-right here, having freedom, having to attack and defend.' Diallo revealed.

'In Italy it is a case of go and attack but then defend and it is the same here. I see myself more as a wide-right player, but I have always said that, in football, you should never have a preferred position.

'Okay, perhaps you have a preference, but you should be ready for anything. I have played wide left, wide right, and I have played through the middle, so all of the positions are the same to me.

'If the coach tells me to play in a specific position, there will be a reason for that. I will not argue, I will just play in that position.

Manchester United's Amad Diallo has admitted that he prefers playing on the right wing. Diallo insists he will play in any position he's asked to get into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side. Diallo made his United debut during their 4-0 win over Real Sociedad in the Europa League

'If I really have to say a favourite position, I would say wide-right, because, from there, I can dribble and carry the ball deep into the opposition’s half. So I guess it is the position I like best, but I have to be ready for everything.'

Diallo made his debut for the Red Devils against Real Sociedad in the Europa League in February, and scored his goal for the club during their 1-1 draw with AC Milan in the same competition a month later.

He made his senior debut for the Ivory Coast during their 3-0 win over Niger in March and scored his first goal for his country with a stunning free kick against Burkina Faso in June.

Manchester United 'willing to loan out £37m forward Amad Diallo' this summer to allow him to get regular first-team football following the arrival of £73m signing Jadon Sancho

* Amad Diallo joined Manchester United in January after signing from Atalanta
* The Red Devils then signed Jadon Sancho for £73m over the summer window
* United are reportedly willing to let Diallo go out on loan for first-team football

Manchester United have reportedly made £37m signing Amad Diallo available for loan this summer.

The 19-year-old who arrived at Old Trafford back in January, made eight first-team appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in the second-half of last season.

United have strengthened their side again this summer with the long-awaited addition of Jadon Sancho on a £73m deal from Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester Evening News have now reported that the club are willing to loan out Diallo for the coming season to boost his chances of regular first-team football.

There are plenty of attacking players available to Solskjaer this season in addition to Sancho.

Anthony Martial, Dan James and Mason Greenwood started in their 4-0 pre-season victory over Everton and are ahead of Diallo in the pecking order.

United also have Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani to their disposal, while Marcus Rashford will be sidelined until October after undergoing a much-needed operation on a troublesome shoulder.

Manchester United could be set to let Amad Diallo leave the club on loan this summer. United have strengthened their right-wing position with the signing of Jadon Sancho

United have already loaned out right-sided forward Facundo Pellistri to Alaves for the upcoming season and Diallo could follow him out the doors for the 2021-22 season.

Diallo was predominantly used as part of United's Under 23 side last season, notably getting a brace against rivals Liverpool in his first appearance in their colours.

He made his first senior appearance as a substitute for Greenwood during a 4-0 Europa League victory over Real Sociedad.

Sheffield United 'want to sign Manchester United wonderkid Amad Diallo on loan to boost Championship promotion hopes' as Ivorian teenager faces struggle for game time after Jadon Sancho's £73m arrival

* Sheffield United want Manchester United's Amad Diallo on loan, say reports
* The 19-year-old joined for £37million from Atalanta in January of this year
* Diallo played eight first-team games but could struggle for game time this term
* The Ivorian is behind Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Dan James at United

Sheffield United are keen on signing Manchester United wonderkid Amad Diallo on loan, according to reports.

The 19-year-old completed a £37million move from Italian side Atalanta in January but has only turned out eight times for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side since then.

Reports claim the Red Devils are prepared to let Diallo go in the summer transfer window after Jadon Sancho's £73million arrival from Borussia Dortmund pushed him further down the pecking order.

And according to talkSPORT, Slavisa Jokanovic's Blades are keen to take the winger on a temporary deal to boost their Championship promotion bid this season.

Diallo showed flashes of quality in his opening six months at Old Trafford, scoring against AC Milan in their Europa League last-16 tie and assisting Mason Greenwood in a Premier League clash at home to Leicester in May.

But Sancho's arrival means first-team game time will be limited at Old Trafford this season, with the England international adding to the already-competitive battle for forward places in Solskjaer's squad.

Daniel James and Mason Greenwood started the Red Devils' 5-1 victory over Leeds to start the Premier League season, while Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani and Sancho did not start their Old Trafford opener on Saturday.

Paul Pogba has also been used in a wider role in recent months which is a blow for Diallo's starting chances, though Marcus Rashford is facing around three months on the sidelines after surgery on his shoulder.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United are hoping to achieve an immediate return to the Premier League after their relegation last season, but Jokanovic's side are struggling for goals at the beginning of this Championship season.

The Blades began their second tier campaign with a 1-0 home loss to Birmingham City, before registering a goalless draw away at promotion rivals Swansea on Saturday.

The Blades did off the mark for the season in their slender EFL Cup first round win over Carlisle, with former Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster finding the net in that match.

The Yorkshire club have been busy in the transfer market in recent days, having struck an agreement to sign Liverpool defender Ben Davies on loan, who has yet to feature for the Reds since his move from Preston in January.

Amad Diallo's loan switch to Feyenoord in doubt after Manchester United youngster suffered an injury in training

* Amad Diallo's proposed loan switch to Feyenoord has been thrown into doubt
* The Manchester United youngster suffered an injury during a training session
* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that a club has been lined up for the 19-year-old
* United will consider loan offers for winger Daniel James before the deadline

Amad Diallo's loan move from Manchester United to Feyenoord has been thrown into doubt after he picked up an injury in training.

Feyenoord sporting director Frank Arnesen is awaiting a full assessment of the injury before deciding whether to press ahead.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær confirmed a club had been lined up for 19-year old Amad following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.

Crystal Palace and Sheffield United had made enquiries but United are close to agreement with Feyenoord who finished fifth in the Dutch league last season.

Solskjær said: ‘Yes, I do expect Amad to go out on loan. It’s not 100 per cent signed but we have agreed. I don’t have to say which team it is yet but we have found a place that Amad feels excited about and we feel excited about.’

Amad joined from Atalanta in January for an initial £20million but the Ivory Coast international faces a tough task to make an impression on United’s first team stage following the arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Ronaldo.

United will also consider loan requests for Wales international Daniel James after initially telling clubs he would stay. Everton and Leeds United have asked to be kept informed of any developments.

Full-back Diogo Dalot is however expected to stay despite interest from Borussia Dortmund who had asked to take the Portuguese international on loan.

French side Nice eye up loan move for Amad Diallo as an alternative to Nicolas Pepe, with Blackpool and Sunderland also interested in taking the Manchester United youngster for the season

* Ligue 1 side Nice are interested in signing Manchester United's Amad Diallo
* The French outfit view Diallo as an alternative to top target Nicolas Pepe
* Championship sides Blackpool and Sunderland have both proposed loan moves
* Diallo spent part of last season on-loan at Scottish Premiership side Rangers

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is a loan target for Ligue 1 side Nice with the forward keen for playing time in one of Europe's top-flight leagues this season.

The French side are currently exploring a deal for Arsenal's Nicolas Pepe who has fallen out of favour at the Emirates and see Amad as an alternative if no deal can be struck.

Diallo joined United in 2021 for £37.2million as then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified the Atalanta youth product as a star in the making.

However he has made just nine appearances since making the switch to Old Trafford, and only three outings in the Premier League during the 20/21 season.

Diallo has since been shipped on-loan to Rangers but joined United for their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia as Erik ten Hag assessed his squad ahead of the new season.

The 20-year-old however is not in the immediate plans of his Dutch boss and is now the subject of interest from a host of English and European clubs seeking to try their luck on the highly-regarded youngster.

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is likely to leave Old Trafford on loan this season. Ligue 1 side Nice are interested in bringing the 20-year-old to France this summer. The Atalanta academy product joined United for £37.2million in 2021 but hasn't impressed. Diallo is also wanted by Blackpool and Sunderland who have both tabled offers for him

Nice, owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe who recently expressed interest in buying United, would be favourites to land Diallo on a loan basis this season, but are not the only club tabling offers.

Championship sides Blackpool and Sunderland have both approached the Premier League side to try and lure Diallo to English football's second division.

Nice are also competing with Everton for Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton-Diaz.

The English-born-Chilean put numerous Premier League clubs on alert with dazzling performances last season seeing him score 22 goals in 37 appearances.

Everton are in desperate need of a striker following the long-term injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and are without a win from their opening two Premier League games.

AMAD SEALS LOAN MOVE

Manchester United winger Amad is joining Sunderland on loan for the rest of the 2022/23 season, subject to registration.

The Ivory Coast international helped Rangers reach the Europa League final and win the Scottish Cup during his temporary spell with the Glasgow club for the second half of last season.

Amad scored three times during his spell at Rangers, including a goal just four minutes into his debut against Ross County.

He also scored early in his United career with a fantastic header against AC Milan in the Europa League round of 16 and found the net again in our home pre-season friendly with Rayo Vallecano last month.

The 20-year-old went to the Tokyo Olympics, representing Ivory Coast, helping his country to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The winger will join up with new Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray. Amad will gain further experience in the Championship, continuing his progress in a new environment, while being closely monitored and supported by United staff.

Everybody would like to wish Amad the best of luck this term as we follow his progress at the Stadium of Light.
