Paul Pogba is STAYING at Manchester United and will hold talks over a new contract, his agent Mino Raiola confirms - warding off interest from Juventus and Real Madrid after months of flirting over a move away

* Paul Pogba's future at Manchester United has been uncertain for the last year
* The World Cup winner has been linked with moves to Juventus and Real Madrid
* The Frenchman also currently has just one year left on his Old Trafford contract
* But his agent Mino Raiola insists the 27-year-old will not leave this summer

Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has confirmed the midfielder will be staying at Manchester United this summer.

The World Cup winner's future has been up in the air for the last 12 months and he looked certain to leave Old Trafford earlier in the season.

Talk of moves to Real Madrid and Juventus intensified before the coronavirus pandemic, with the £89million man having less than a year left on his current deal.

Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has confirmed he will be staying at Man United this summer. Pogba had appeared close to an exit earlier this season but Raiola has now rubbished those rumours by confirming he will be remaining at Old Trafford this summer

But speaking to Sky Sport Italia, the 27-year-old's agent confirmed he will not be leaving Old Trafford this summer, with the midfielder also set for a new deal to take him past 2021 after talks were confirmed.

'Paul Pogba will stay at Manchester United,' Raiola told the Italian outlet.

'Pogba is key player for Man Utd, they've an important project and he's 100% included. Man Utd will not accept any bid this summer to sell Pogba.

'We're going to speak about a new contract soon, no stress.'

Pogba has had a difficult season for United with injuries keeping him out for large spells. Raiola also confirmed that talks over a new contract for the Frenchman are due to begin soon. Pogba has been heavily linked with a transfer to Real Madrid and former club Juventus

Reports had emerged ever since United qualified for next season's Champions League through the Premier League top four route that Pogba was ready to sign a new deal.

However, other reports in Italy claimed new Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo was keen on bringing his former team-mate back to the Serie A champions.

Further reports in Italy had also suggested Juventus could offer former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey or Argentine star Paulo Dybala in exchange, but that door appears to be firmly shut.

Overall, it was a frustrating season for the former Juventus midfielder, playing just seven games in the first half of the season before undergoing surgery on a persistent ankle injury in January.

But the coronavirus hiatus allowed the 27-year-old to recover from injury and play a fundamental role in United qualifying for Europe's top club competition.

He also began to develop a promising midfield partnership with talismanic January signing Bruno Fernandes, while it appears his relationship with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the mend.

Covid chaos! Paul Pogba becomes latest high-profile player to test positive for coronavirus as the Premier League is hit by an alarming spike just TWO WEEKS before the season starts

* Manchester United's Paul Pogba is most high-profile player to get coronavirus
* Pogba was omitted from France squad along with Spurs star Tanguy Ndombele
* Aaron Wan-Bissaka will miss the start of training as he needs to self-isolate
* News of Pogba's positive test came after Covid-19 outbreak emerged at Chelsea

Paul Pogba has become the highest-profile footballer to contract coronavirus, with the Premier League heading for chaos a fortnight before the new season.

The central midfielder was omitted from the France squad after testing positive alongside Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele on arrival at the camp.

Pogba, who has spent the off-season with family and friends in London, is understood to have been symptomatic and there are concerns he may miss the birth of his second child.

The 27-year-old must now self-isolate for at least 10 days and will be an absentee when Manchester United begin pre-season training.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team are due to report back at Carrington on Wednesday and the manager’s preparations have been significantly affected by a troubling week at Old Trafford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will miss the start of training because he needs to self-isolate for two weeks on his return from a holiday to Dubai.

Man United's Paul Pogba has become the highest-profile player to test positive for coronavirus. Pogba and his France team-mate Tanguy Ndombele have both been diagnosed with the virus

United’s first Premier League match is scheduled against Crystal Palace on September 19 but Solskjaer is faced with issues to contend with — not least the circumstances surrounding Harry Maguire’s holiday and subsequent 21-month suspended prison sentence after an altercation on the Greek island of Mykonos. Pogba’s positive test was the latest in a string of complications for the United boss.

France manager Didier Deschamps broke the news on Thursday when he said: ‘I’ve completed, at the very last minute, a change in the list. Paul Pogba was on the list but unfortunately for him he carried out a test yesterday which was returned as positive this morning.’

United said in a statement: ‘Everybody at United wishes him a speedy recovery ahead of the new season.’

The club maintained that all players will abide by Government regulations surrounding Covid-19, including quarantine periods if necessary.

United are confident that those stars who travelled back to their home countries not on the travel corridor list can return to Manchester as normal following the international break.

Nemanja Matic, Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof are thought to have spent time in Serbia, France and Sweden respectively before linking up with their national sides. But the elite sport exemption is believed to kick in once they enter the bubble of their national teams.

The news of Pogba’s positive test came after a Covid-19 outbreak at Chelsea had emerged, with six players returning positive results and a further two in quarantine.

Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic and Fikayo Tomori are all understood to be in self-isolation.

The Premier League have no concerns surrounding the new campaign starting on September 12 as planned but the increased number of positive results will be a worry for them.

Default Re: Paul Labile Pogba

SOLSKJAER EXPECTS POGBA TO GET BETTER WITH FITNESS

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Paul Pogba is still working up to full match fitness after an interrupted close season.

The 27-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 in late August and was forced to self-isolate for two weeks, meaning he was forced to drop out of the France squad for the UEFA Nations League games against Sweden and Croatia.

Our no.6 only returned to first-team training a week before our opening match against Crystal Palace – meaning he also missed out on the Reds’ only pre-season friendly, against Aston Villa on 12 September.

Pogba has started both of our two Premier League games so far, completing around 65 minutes in each, and Solskjaer believes we’ll see the midfielder continue to improve as he gets more game-time in his legs.

“He missed a lot of the pre-season because of his illness, so he’s not had internationals or the friendly against Villa,” Ole told reporters at a press conference conducted after the 3-2 win at Brighton.

“So of course the two 60, 65 minutes he’s had will help him along and he’ll just get better and better.”

Solskjaer has been outspoken in recent weeks about how United are still catching up with most teams fitness-wise, after our 2019/20 campaign only came to a close in mid-August.

He reiterated that point after the full-time whistle at the Amex, explaining that was why Brighton finished so strongly, but was also keen to point out United’s response to Solly March’s late leveller.

“We’ve told the players that Brighton are one of the teams in the league with the best physical stats.

“So we knew we had to dig in, we had to work hard, we had to work for 90 minutes and we know we’re not at our peak with sharpness and fitness because of the late pre-season and the long season that we had in Europe.

“So we had to be prepared for that, but you can see towards the end they had more steam than us. But then again, we had enough in the tank to create a reaction to the equaliser. That was very pleasing.”

Paul Pogba says it's his 'dream' to play for Real Madrid and reveals there have been no talks with Ed Woodward about a new contract as he openly flirts with a move away from Manchester United

* Manchester United's Paul Pogba has hinted he could leave the club next year
* The French midfielder has admitted it is a 'dream' to play for Real Madrid
* Pogba's United contract ends in 10 months and it has not yet been renewed
* He reveals United CEO Ed Woodward has not even discussed a new deal with him

Paul Pogba has hinted at a move away from Manchester United by stating it would be a 'dream' to join Real Madrid as his Old Trafford contract runs down.

The Frenchman's contract at the Premier League giants expires in just 10 months and the 27-year-old has admitted that Red Devils chief executive Ed Woodward has not approached him over a new deal.

Pogba has been strongly linked with a move from United for around a year, especially when missed much of last season with a long-term injury and agent Mino Raiola fired shots at the club for a 'lack of sporting direction'.

Paul Pogba has admitted he has not been offered a new contract at Manchester United. Pogba has admitted it would be a dream to play for Real Madrid, managed by Zinedine Zidane

Despite Pogba remaining a key player at Old Trafford this season, he told a press conference for the French national team on Thursday: 'Yes, all football players would love to play for Real Madrid. It is a dream for me, why not one day?

'I am in Manchester and I love my club. I am playing in Manchester, I'm having fun and I want to do everything to put the club where it deserves it. I will give everything to the max, like my teammates.'

Manchester United are currently in a crisis on the pitch after their 6-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend left them in 16th place after three games.

Pogba's United contract ends in 10 months and the 27-year-old has been linked with a move. Pogba has admitted that United CEO Ed Woodward has not asked him about a new deal

It followed a difficult summer for the Red Devils, who missed out on top transfer target Jadon Sancho and then failed to bring in a player in his position during the summer window.

Now they are set for another transfer saga as the club are currently refusing to enter negotiations with Pogba over a new deal, despite the French midfielder being a popular figure at Old Trafford.

Pogba continued: 'No-one has told me anything. I have not spoken to Ed Woodward. We haven't spoken about a new deal.

'At the moment, I am in Manchester and I am concentrating about getting back to my best form.

'I think there will be a moment when the club will come and talk to me and maybe offer me something, or not.

'So far, nothing has happened. I can't tell you something that I don't know.'

Pogba is currently on international duty with France before heading back to England to continue his season with Manchester United.

The midfielder was a substitute as Les Bleus won 7-1 at home to Ukraine in a friendly on Wednesday night. His next Manchester United game will be a trip to Newcastle United a week on Saturday.

Banyak yang Kepingin Paul Pogba Cabut dari MU, tapi...
Bayu Baskoro - detikSport

Manchester - Paul Pogba tak menampik banyaknya suara yang meminta dia hengkang dari Manchester United. Gelandang 27 tahun tersebut memberikan jawaban soal itu. Apa katanya?

Pogba sudah satu tahun belakangan dikaitkan dengan kepindahan ke Real Madrid. Pemain Prancis itu kabarnya menjadi buruan utama Zinedine Zidane guna memperkuat skuat Los Blancos.

Isu kepindahan Pogba semakin berembus ketika kontraknya bersama MU mendekati titik akhir.

Default Re: Paul Labile Pogba

Paul Pogba's latest efforts to flirt with Real were met with a shrugging of shoulders in Madrid and a yawn in Manchester... United fans are bored of the whole saga and his chances of a Bernabeu move are slim with Mbappe and Camavinga the main targets

* Paul Pogba has once again spoken of his 'dream' to one day play for Real Madrid
* With his Man United contract expiring next year, surely it's now or never for him
* United fans are tired of his open flirting with Real and his sub-par performances
* But even if they cut their losses, there's no guarantee that Real will be interested
* Pogba turned them down in 2016 and 2019 and a third opportunity is unlikely
* Real's main targets are much younger - Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga

Paul Pogba's latest attempt to flirt with Real Madrid was met with a collective yawn in Manchester and a shrugging of shoulders in the Spanish capital.

It seems the French midfielder has a recurring dream that involves pulling on that crisp white shirt and running out at the Bernabeu.

'Yes, all football players would love to play for Real Madrid. It is a dream for me, why not one day?' Pogba said on Thursday after reporting for international duty with France.

Paul Pogba has once again said it's his 'dream' to one day play for Real Madrid - but it will remain just a dream unless circumstances change dramatically for the French midfielder. A miserable Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford was compounded when Pogba gave away a penalty for Tottenham's sixth goal following a clumsy foul on Ben Davies

Pogba did follow that up by claiming that he still loved Manchester United and was 'having fun' there, something not immediately obvious during their 6-1 drubbing by Tottenham a few days earlier.

Trouble is, United fans have long grown tired not only of such remarks but his listless performances at the heart of their team.

Patience over Pogba has well and truly worn thin and most would now be more than happy to see him realise that 'dream' and clear off to Spain.

But it isn't that simple. Pogba, 27, may be in the final year of his Old Trafford contract - meaning opportunities for United to recoup the then world record £89million they paid for him are fast running out - but that doesn't mean Real will necessarily be interested.

Real targets contemplating whether or not to join the club always used to be told that 'the train only passes once.'

The implication was that if you turned them down once you would never get another chance.

Though plenty of players - such as Patrick Vieira - and coaches - Arsene Wenger - did get several opportunities it was usually true that when the stars aligned you had to make the move.

So that's why Pogba's latest declaration was met with a shrug of the shoulders in Madrid on Friday.

It feels like the train has very much already left the station for a player who came close to joining in 2016 and again in 2019.

Pogba was 24 the first time and one of the most sought-after talents in the world after four successful years with Juventus.

It appeared that Real would get their latest 'Galactico' but Pogba had his heart set on a move back to Old Trafford and United were willing to splash the cash as Jose Mourinho came in as manager.

A year later, Pogba explained: 'I always felt it in my heart. My heart told me to come back here. I did it and I don't regret. I never regret my choice.'

Pogba reacts in dismay to a refereeing decision during another poor performance on Sunday

But hearts can change and by 2019, after failing to repeat his Juventus form at United, Pogba was ready to push through his Bernabeu move.

But he didn't push hard enough, the move didn't materialise and the chances of ever getting to Real became even slimmer.

If Pogba runs down his contract and if it looks as though compatriot Zinedine Zidane will still be at the club in 2021 then perhaps there will be a third and final opening for him.

But the more likely scenario is that Real will concentrate all their financial might on bringing Eduardo Camavinga and Kylian Mbappe to the club.

Camavinga is 10 years Pogba's junior and fits the club's policy of signing players before they turn 20.

They are willing to make an exception for Mbappe, who is 21, but he will need to maintain his current policy of not entering into contract talks with Paris Saint-Germain. His deal expires in 2022.

Madrid president Florentino Perez has already said that players cannot be asked to accept pay cuts if the club then sign top earners.

Mbappe will come in as Real's highest earner so there's no way the club can afford a big transfer fee as well.

And if the forward comes in 2021, there will be little money left to meet Pogba's likely salary demands. Pogba is on £290,000-a-week at Old Trafford.

So in order for Pogba's 'dream' to come true, he would have to enjoy an upturn in fortunes on the pitch, not sign a new deal, hope Zidane stayed in charge and hope Madrid fail to bring in Camavinga.

That's an awful lot of 'ifs' and we haven't factored in the possibility of a United renewal offer.

Fan reaction would be interesting if this offer materialised. United followers are bored of the whole saga already and feel Pogba needs to prove himself all over again.

The constant flirting with Real is incredibly tiresome and it isn't as though Pogba is producing the performances to entice an offer from anyone, let alone such a powerhouse.

This particular 'dream' may have to remain just that.

Paul Pogba 'STILL has the backing of his Manchester United team mates' despite admitting AGAIN it would be a 'dream' to play for Real Madrid

* Paul Pogba also spoke of his desire to play for Zinedine Zidane's side last year
* Pogba's future is up in the air with French star revealing no talks over a new deal
* United dressing room haven't turned on Pogba despite his latest flirt with Madrid

Paul Pogba reportedly still has the backing of his Manchester United team mates, despite reiterating his desire to play for Real Madrid.

The French World Cup winner admitted it would be a 'dream' to play for Madrid one day whilst away on international duty last week. Pogba had also courted the idea of a move to the Spanish giants last summer during Zinedine Zidane's failed pursuit to bring him to Madrid.

Despite his latest efforts to flirt with Madrid, Manchester Evening News claim the United dressing room haven't turned on Pogba and there is still a belief that he is the best player at the club.

Pogba's future remains uncertain with the player having just 10 months left on his United contract and revealing last week that no talks to extend it have taken place.

'No-one has told me anything. I have not spoken to Ed Woodward. We haven't spoken about a new deal,' he said.

'At the moment, I am in Manchester and I am concentrating about getting back to my best form.

'I think there will be a moment when the club will come and talk to me and maybe offer me something, or not.

Paul Pogba revealed his desire to play for Real Madrid whilst on international duty with France. Pogba has been criticised this season for his performances for Manchester United. Madrid Boss Zinedine Zidane could be set to splash the cash after Real's frugal summer

'So far, nothing has happened. I can't tell you something that I don't know.'

Pogba has been criticised for his level of performance so far this season as have most of his teammates, leading to calls from some fans that he should be dropped.

Real Madrid are understood to still be very interested in bringing Pogba to the Bernabeu next year after a quiet summer with Hugo Duro the only arrival.

Madrid are also plotting to finally make a move for PSG star and long-term target Kylian Mbappe next year with the striker approaching the final 18 months of his deal.

MU Aktifkan Opsi Perpanjangan Kontrak Paul Pogba
Rifqi Ardita Widianto - detikSport

And on Monday morning, Pogba took to Instagram to let his followers know that the initial reports were false - writing on his story: 'Unacceptable. Fake news.'

The United midfielder added he was: 'appalled, angry, shocked and frustrated' at the reports.

Macron’s comments came after French teacher Samuel Paty, 47, was murdered on his way home from the junior high school he taught in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, 40 kilometres northwest of Paris.

The French government bestowed the country's highest honour on the teacher, who had shown images of the prophet Muhammad to schoolchildren in his class before being attacked.

Macron described the murder as an 'Islamic terrorist attack' that took the life of the French teacher and later added: 'Unity and firmness are the only answers to the monstrosity of Islamist terrorism.'

Pogba's supposed resignation from France side was said to be motivated by Macron’s comments.

It was also alleged in the reports from the Middle East that Pogba, who converted to Islam in his 20s, also resented the French government's decision to bestow the country's highest honour on Mr Paty.

He was awarded the French Legion d'honneur in recognition of the fact that he died trying to explain the importance of freedom of speech.

The report claimed that Pogba considered the decision as an insult to him and to French Muslims, especially since Islam is the second religion in France after Christianity. There are an estimated six million Muslims in the country.

Pogba, a convert to Islam, posted this picture of him visiting Mecca on Instagram in 2019. The Manchester United midfielder has said converting to Islam has made him a better person

Calls are growing meanwhile around the world for people to boycott French goods in the wake of the president's comments accusing Muslims of separatism. He also pledged that France would 'not to give up our cartoons' depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

Earlier this month, Macron announced plans for tougher laws to tackle what he called 'Islamist separatism' in France, which has strong secular values. Macron said France's Muslims were in danger of forming a 'counter-society'.

Macron's comments have also sparked an international diplomatic incident, with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan accusing his counterpart of 'needing treatment on a mental level' for pledging to fight Islamic radicalism.

France has recalled its ambassador to Turkey for consultations after Erdogan's insult.

In 2019, Pogba revealed why he converted to Islam - insisting that doing so has made him become a better person.

Asked what being a Muslim meant to him in The Times' new Life Times podcast, Pogba said: 'It's everything. That's what makes me thankful for everything.

'It made me change, realise things in life. I guess, maybe, it makes me more peaceful inside.

'It was a good change in my life because I wasn't born a Muslim, even if my mum was. I just grew up like that, respect for everyone.

'Islam is not the image that everyone sees – terrorism… What we hear in the media is really something else, it's something beautiful.

'You get to know it. Anybody can find that he feels connected with Islam.'

After being approached for comment on Pogba, the French Football Federation said they have no information on the matter.
