Manchester United 'lining up £11m offer' for promising Argentina centre back Facundo Medina from Lens but would 'loan 21-year-old back to the Ligue 1 outfit until end of season'

* Facundo Medina has impressed at Lens since moving from Argentina in 2020
* The 21-year-old defender has reportedly caught the attention of Man United
* United are 'very serious' about their interest in the young Lens defender
* Medina recently made his debut for Argentina after impressing for Lens

Manchester United are eyeing up a move for Lens' Argentine central defender Facundo Medina, according to reports.

Medina has already impressed in French football since making the move from Argentine side Talleres last summer for just over £2.7million.

According to La Voix du Nord, via Sport Witness, United are 'very serious' about their interest and could 'rapidly and officially' launch a first offer of £11m with the possibility of a six-month immediate loan back to the Ligue 1 club until the end of the season.

Medina, who has endured knee problems of late at Lens, has attracted interest from a number of English sides but it is the Red Devils who are most in pursuit.

Young Lens defender Facundo Medina has reportedly caught the eye of Manchester United. Medina will be hoping to follow a similar path to Raphael Varane, who was at Lens until 2011

However, the report claims that the chances of Medina leaving Lens in January are 'slim' as he looks to continue his development within French football.

The 21-year-old's composure and ability on the ball, and his defensive reading of the game are his standout attributes.

Thanks to his fine form, Medina received his first call-up to Argentina's senior squad in September last year.

Medina then made his debut in Argentina's World Cup qualifying victory over Bolivia on October 13, coming on as a late replacement for Lautaro Martinez.

Lens were promoted to Ligue 1 this season, and they have impressed so far this term - sitting 10th in the French top-flight with 28 points from 19 matches.

And Lens' mixture of young talent and experienced stars is helping them flourish in Ligue 1, with Medina's performances certainly not going unnoticed.

The young Argentine defender has featured 11 times for Lens in Ligue 1 this season, scoring once.

Medina will be hoping to soon follow in the footsteps of long-term United target Raphael Varane, who learned his trade at Lens before departing for European giants Real Madrid in 2011.

United - who currently sit top of the Premier League - struggled in defence early on this season but centre backs Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof have all returned to form.

Tottenham 'join the race for Jesse Lingard' as Jose Mourinho eyes a reunion with the Manchester United midfielder... while 'West Ham and Sheffield United are also keen'

* Jesse Lingard has played just three matches for Manchester United this season
* Jose Mourinho oversaw one of Lingard's best seasons while United manager
* But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said to be cold on the prospect of letting Lingard go

Tottenham have joined the race to sign Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United, with Sheffield United and West Ham also keen on landing the midfielder for the rest of the season.

That's according to talkSPORT, who say the Premier League trio are eyeing a move alongside French club Nice and Portuguese side Porto.

But a move to White Hart Lane would see Lingard reunite with old boss Jose Mourinho, who he knows well from his time at Old Trafford.

Jesse Lingard has made just three appearances for Manchester United so far this season. He has been linked with a move to Tottenham, where old boss Jose Mourinho is the manager

Together, they won the League Cup and the Europa League in 2017 and the following year, Lingard enjoyed most prolific campaign of his career by scoring 13 times in a season.

So far in 2020-21, Lingard has only made three appearances for United and they have all come in domestic cup competitions, yet Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be cold on the idea of him departing.

United's schedule until the end of the season will intensify when the Europa League campaign resumes in February, while Solskjaer must also be mindful of a potential Covid-19 outbreak impacting the players he has available at any point.

Lingard's deal was automatically extended by another year recently so he doesn't leave on a free transfer, meaning he has 18 months remaining on his current Old Trafford terms.

Despite having a bit-part role so far, United are said to be hesitant on letting Lingard leave. Lingard is also of interest to West Ham and Sheffield United in the January window

A move to West Ham would also see him join up with another former United boss in David Moyes, who has overseen an encouraging campaign at West Ham to date - they are seventh in the Premier League standings and just two points off fourth.

Should Lingard head to Brammall Lane, he'd be joining a relegation fight with Chris WIlder's men, who have only won once all season in the Premier League.

But Lingard could also be in action for United in their next game as it is in the FA Cup - they host fierce rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

dipinjamkan ke Spurs lebih bagus karena Mou sudah mengenal karakter dan gaya permainan Lingard. selain Lingard ada juga gosip saling tukar pinjam Eriksen dengan VDB

West Ham manager David Moyes keen on signing Jesse Lingard before the end of the transfer window with the out-of-favour midfielder considering his future after being left on the fringes at Manchester United

* Jesse Lingard has yet to make a Premier League appearance so far this season
* The 28-year-old is considering his future having fallen down the pecking order
* West Ham boss David Moyes is keen to sign Lingard by the end of the window

Manchester United's Jesse Lingard is wanted by West Ham as he considers his future.

Lingard was left out of United's squad against Liverpool and trained with other fringe players at Carrington.

Newcastle and West Brom are also chasing a deal for the 28-year-old, but would look to take him on loan.

West Ham manager David Moyes has worked with Lingard before when he was manager of the Red Devils during the 2013-14 season.

However he only managed Lingard in a number of pre-season friendlies before he spent the year on loan at Birmingham and then Brighton.

Lingard broke into the Manchester United team under Moyes' successor Louis van Gaal, and has scored 33 goals in 210 appearances for the club.

Jesse Lingard is considering his future after being left on the fringes at Manchester United. Former Red Devil boss David Moyes is keen to sign Lingard for West Ham this month. Lingard has dropped down the order and is yet to make a league appearance this season

However he has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League so far this season.

A number of other clubs have previously been touted as potential destinations, including Inter Milan, Tottenham, Nice and Sheffield United.

The January transfer window ends at 11pm on February 1, so any club would have to make the move in the next week.

David Moyes is hoping to sign Lingard, plus a striker before the end of the window.

The Hammers boss is also keen on a loan move for Lingard's United team-mate, Brandon Williams, but will be unable to take both in this window. United are also reluctant to let Williams go and is still seen as a solid back-up for Luke Shaw.

Liverpool and Manchester United 'ready to go head-to-head' in race for Dayot Upamecano, with RB Leipzig's in-demand defender available for just £38m in the summer

* The race for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has now officially begun
* Liverpool and Manchester United will reportedly battle out for the 22-year-old
* Jurgen Klopp badly needs defensive reinforcement after a spate of big injuries
* Defender has a £38m release clause which will become active in the summer

Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly set to 'go head-to-head' for the signing of RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, with a host of European clubs also watching the in-demand Frenchman.

It is no secret that Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are in desperate need for defensive reinforcements, with big injuries to first-choice pairing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez leaving the back line severely depleted.

Klopp is an admirer of Upamecano and sees the 22-year-old as 'a natural future partner for Van Dijk' at the heart of his defence but must match the swift moves made by United, according to the Mirror.

Dayot Upamecano is set to be the subject of a tug of war between Liverpool and Man United. Both Jurgen Klopp and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are said to be big admirers of the star

Upamecano has a £38million release clause inserted into his contract with Leizpig, which officially comes into play at the end of the current campaign.

It is reported however that United will look to trigger the clause early and have a deal in place ready for when the summer window opens, much to the dismay of their bitter rivals on Merseyside.

It remains increasingly unlikely that Leipzig would sanction any early sale of Upamecano this month, with the team sitting second in the Bundesliga table - just four points off the summit - and through to the Champions League knock-out rounds.

Upamecano, seen challenging Erling Haaland, has a release clause of £38m in the summer. The 22-year-old has earned a string of admirers with his powerful play and all round versatility

Klopp will be afforded an up close look at Upamecano's skill set in mid February, as Leipzig have been drawn against Liverpool in the round of 16.

In recent months Upamecano has also been heavily linked with a stay in Germany with Bayern Munich, along with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

At present Liverpool have only Joel Matip as a fit, first team central defender. The Cameroon star has a chequered injury history and has already missed a series of matches this season due to time spent in the treatment room.

Both Liverpool and United have had their finances badly hampered as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, though Klopp recently alluded to the tightening of purse strings by his board following the Reds' recent defeat to Burnley.

Klopp hinted at his frustration that they have not been able to bring in reinforcements with his squad set to be significantly impacted by the defensive injuries for the remainder of the campaign.

Klopp insisted the decision to bring in new recruits before the end of the month was out of his hands.

'These decisions are not my decisions,' he said.

'If somebody thinks we should do something, I cannot decide if we do something in the transfer market or not. That must be clear.'

The Reds have also been linked with moves for several other defenders including Bayern Munich's David Alaba, Schalke's Ozan Kabak and Brighton's Ben White.

But Klopp admitted earlier in January that a move for a centre back is unlikely due to the impact of Covid-19.

He said: 'I cannot say definitely we will not bring anyone in, it's just not likely because of the situation in the world.

'We should not forget that the situation is a tough one for all people and for football clubs as well.'

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals Man United are in talks with 'MANY' clubs over loan deals for Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams as he admits summer signing Facundo Pellistri could head to Spain to play 'at a high level' until the end of the season

* Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams could still leave United on loan this month
* Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted a host of clubs were interested in a move
* He stressed that players would only leave Old Trafford on the club's terms
* Solskjaer also revealed youngster Facundo Pellistri could be loaned to Spain

Manchester United are still in talks with a number of clubs over loan moves for Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams, and could also allow Facundo Pellistri to go out on a short-term deal.

Lingard, who is a target for West Ham, and Williams have been on the fringes of the first-team squad this season and struggled for game time.

United are open to keeping both of them for the rest of the season due to the unique demands of the pandemic, and Solskjaer says any move must suit the club and the players.

United are in talks with 'many clubs' over loans for Jesse Lingard (L) and Brandon Williams (R)

‘They're still part of the club, part of the squad, and no deal has been struck for any players yet going out,’ said the United boss.

‘There have been many clubs interested in our players, so let's see what happens. It's important to take our wishes and our plans into consideration, but the players as well of course because they are Man United people and players through and through.’

Pellistri joined United for £9million from Uruguayan team Penarol in November and has been training with the first-team squad while playing for the Under-21s.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stressed that the players would only leave the club on their terms. Facundo Pellistri (left) could also be shipped out to gain more experience, Solskjaer revealed

Solskjaer is prepared to let the 19-year-old right winger go out on loan to Spain for first-team experience. However, 18-year-old winger Amad Diallo will stay at United and push for a senior debut having only arrived from Atalanta earlier this month following the completion of his £37m move.

‘There have been talks and quite a few clubs interested in Facundo to go out on loan and maybe that’s something we’ll let him do. We want him to have football at a high level,’ said Solskjaer.

‘With Amad, it’s a different scenario. He’s had a good training regime and programme, he’s doing well and it won't be too long until I can bring him into the squad.’

lagi pandemi gini susah mo jual pandemi, opsinya meminjamkan pemain, tapi kalo Lingard mah dijual saja, kalo Williams & Pellistri proyek jangkap panjang jadi mending dipinjamkan saja

Manchester United and rivals Man City have 'moved behind the scenes' to 'line up a deal' for Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Veron, who is dubbed the next Neymar after his breakthrough season with Palmeiras

* Gabriel Veron is the latest Brazilian sensation to get the world of football talking
* The teenager has been a revelation in his breathrough season with Palmeiras
* Reports claim Manchester United and City have already started making moves
* Barcelona are heavily linked but are currently crippled by financial difficulties

Manchester United and bitter rivals City are reportedly set to steal a march on Europe's elite clubs by making their move for Gabriel Veron.

The teenager is the latest Brazilian sensation to get the world of football talking and is being touted as the new Neymar following a remarkable breakthrough season with Palmeiras.

Now Veron, 18, is attracting solid interest in each of Europe's major leagues but it is Premier League giants United and City who have taken rapid steps and 'moved behind the scenes', according to Spanish publication Sport.

Manchester United and rivals City have reported made their moves for Gabriel Veron (right). There is so much excitement about Veron that he is being dubbed the new Neymar

The report outlines that it is actually Barcelona who 'control the player's situation,' given his apparent childhood ambition to play at the Nou Camp.

Barca however currently find themselves in a dire financial situation, and look increasingly likely to be unable to dip into the transfer market for the foreseeable future.

Added to this, the situation becomes yet further complicated because the Catalan club are yet to elect their new president, meaning budget allocations and concrete transfer plans are yet to be determined.

The teen star is said to prefer a move to Barcelona but the Spanish giants are cash-strapped. Veron won the Golden Ball at the FIFA U17 World Cup after being determined the best player

The path therefore is reported to have been somewhat cleared for United and City to make their advances, with both clubs said to be aware of Barca's 'difficulty' and are eager to capitalise.

Veron has eight goals and three assists in 33 games since breaking through into the Palmeiras senior ranks.

He has featured at each international age level for Brazil from the U16 to U20s set-up, and was the winner of the Golden Ball award at the U17 World Cup held in his homeland, highlighting him as the tournament's best player.

Veron is contracted to Palmeiras until 2025 and has a £53million (€60m) release clause written into his current contract.

Despite this pricey fee however, it is reported that Palmeiras see his current market value at around £20m and would be open to negotiations.

The teenager therefore is well within the price ranges of both United and City, despite the tightening of purse strings due to the coronavirus pandemic.

United recently showed their willingness to spend big money on talented youngsters, after wrapping up a deal to bring in winger Amad Diallo for an overall cost which could reach £37m.

This was despite him being just 18 years old and having made just five first-team appearances, amounting to a mere 59 minutes for Atalanta over the past 15 months.
