Masalah suksesor sih menurutku masih terlalu dini buat yakin kalo Laurent Blanc cocok jadi pengganti Fergie. Berharap aja karier kepelatihannya sukses&kita liat nanti apakah United yang bakal mendapat manfaat darinya kayak dulu waktu dia jadi bek.

masih terlalu dini buat Blacnc jd calon manager di United krn aroma di Ligue 1 gak sekeras di Premiership. Ligue 1 bukan liga kelas 1 di Eropa, smeua bintang Ligue 1 pasti dibeli tim kaya dari liga kaya. Lyon pun gak kuasa menahan bintang2nya dari serbuan club2 kayak. Lyon setiap tahunnya pasti menjual bintangnya. Mereka jd kaya banget. Situasi ini sgt menguntungkan Lyon membangun dinasti...sorry agak melenceng dikit...hehehe

Laurent Blanc lined up to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United boss
-mirrorfootball.co.uk-

Laurent Blanc has emerged to top the Manchester United short-list of managers to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal that the Frenchman’s incredible record at Bordeaux has put him firmly in the frame to follow Fergie – ahead of Jose Mourinho and Carlos Queiroz.

The belief at Old Trafford is that Ferguson will remain in charge until at least the end of next season – health permitting.

But Blanc, who ended his glittering playing career with a two-year stint at United, is now firmly established as the club’s No.1 choice.

Chief executive David Gill and United legend Sir Bobby Charlton have been tasked with selecting candidates capable of filling the massive void that will be left when Ferguson steps down.

They will call on Ferguson’s massive wealth of football knowledge in that hunt – and the United boss is a big admirer of his former centre-back.

A United insider said: “Replacing Sir Alex will be the toughest job since Matt Busby left the club.

“It isn’t just about winning at United. It’s about playing the game the right way and upholding the traditions.

“There is a lot of admiration at Old Trafford for the job Blanc has done at Bordeaux and the style of play he has imposed.

“It is no secret at the club that he became close to Sir Alex when he was a United player. There is still a lot of mutual respect.”

Ferguson has twice tried to lure Blanc to work alongside him at United.

In the summer of 2008, after the Frenchman had guided Bordeaux into the Champions League by finishing second in Ligue One in his first season at the Parc Lescure, Ferguson asked him to replace Portugal-bound Queiroz as his No.2.

Blanc opted to remain at Bordeaux – and decided to do the same when Ferguson came calling again last January.

Bordeaux won the French League for the first time in a decade last season and are top of the table again this season.

Blanc has enhanced his reputation further by taking Bordeaux into the knock-out stages of the Champions League despite a tough group.

But when United came calling for a second time, in the New Year, the Frenchman said: “Two years experience isn’t enough for the top English jobs.

“My ideal career path would be to start in France, then manage abroad, and then return to head the French national team.”

Ferguson, who will celebrate his 68th birthday on New Year’s Eve, failed three times in efforts to sign Blanc when the Frenchman was recognised as one of the most gifted defenders in world football, before finally succeeding in 2001.

Blanc’s final season as a player saw him take the 2003 Premier League title with United, but he had spells at Barcelona and Inter Milan, and with France he lifted the World Cup and European Championship.

During his time at Old Trafford he would have regular talks with Ferguson about coaching methods and tactics.

Blanc signed a two-year contract extension with Bordeaux earlier this year – but the deal is believed to include a get-out clause that would allow him to leave if he

was offered a big job from abroad.

He will turn 44 on Thursday – the same age Ferguson was when he arrived from Aberdeen to become the most successful manager in United’s history.

Blanc Calon Pengganti Ferguson

MANCHESTER, KOMPAS.com - Sir Alex Ferguson memang belum pensiun dan kemungkinan baru meletakkan jabatannya sebagai pelatih Manchester United (MU) pada akhir musim 2010-11. Namun, MU sudah mulai mencari calon pengganti paling tepat. Pelatih Girondins Bordeaux, Laurent Blanc, dinilai paling cocok dibanding kandidat lain.

Blanc baru berumur 44 tahun. Pada usian itu, Ferguson mulai menangani MU dan sukses. Sementara itu, calon lain seperti Jose Mourinho dan Carlos Queiros dinilai masih kalah favorit dibanding Blanc. (SMR)

Default Re: Laurent Blanc

Laurent Blanc looks a good bet to succeed vintage Sir Alex Ferguson

José Mourinho is too controversial Martin O'Neill is too old – but Laurent Blanc could one day be perfect for Manchester United

On Sunday night Sir Alex Ferguson added to his unmatched collection of honours the informal distinction of becoming the first man since Carlo Fassi, the mentor of the Olympic figure skating champions John Curry and Robin Cousins, to coach two winners of the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year award.

Ryan Giggs was following in the footsteps of David Beckham, who won the award eight years ago, and to celebrate the occasion Ferguson even agreed to a partial lift of his personal boycott of the corporation by agreeing to be interviewed for the short profile of the greatest of his proteges. He didn't seem to be present at the ceremony itself, but you can't have everything.

Perhaps he was still fuming over Manchester United's home defeat at the hands of Aston Villa on Saturday, a result that emphasised the unpredictability of this year's Premier League contest. Even so it would be no great surprise to see United end the season by winning both the league title and the European Cup, in which event there is little doubt that the Laird of Carrington would finally call it a day at the age of 68, eight years after going back on his first pledge to retire.

A trophyless season, of course, would no doubt merely fortify his desire to stay on until he is once again wreathed in glory, but the shadows must surely be lengthening for the man whom Giggs, in his typically modest acceptance speech, called "the greatest manager that's ever lived".

The identity of Ferguson's successor is a topic that comes up every so often, and at the moment three candidates are presenting themselves. The first is Martin O'Neill, no doubt still glowing with pleasure from Saturday's win. He and Ferguson have enjoyed cordial relations in the past – a love of horse racing is a common bond – although that may have changed at the final whistle on Saturday. O'Neill is 57, only 10 years younger than Ferguson.

José Mourinho, 10 years younger than O'Neill, won Ferguson's respect by standing up to him when Porto met United in 2004. The Portguese coach may be odds-on to win Serie A for a second time with Internazionale, but it seems probable that not even victory in the European Cup would prolong his stay in Milan beyond this summer, thanks to a series of outbursts – the latest of them on Sunday, when he crudely insulted a reporter from Corriere dello Sport – which have upset Massimo Moratti, Inter's president.

In some ways the most interesting possibility is presented by a man who might also be Moratti's first choice to succeed Mourinho. Laurent Blanc played two seasons for Inter before ending his career with a two-year stay at United, where he forged an enduring relationship with Ferguson, who admires the man nicknamed Le President by the fans of Marseille during an earlier period of his career.

Now 44, Blanc is in his third year as manager of Bordeaux, whom he guided to second place in the French league in his first season and to the championship last year. The Girondins are currently on top of the table again, having beaten Lyon away on Sunday, and Blanc is fending off claims that he has already agreed to leave the club a year early in order to replace Raymond Domenech as France's coach after next summer's World Cup finals.

If Blanc is too young for that job, my guess would be that O'Neill is too old for United and that Mourinho is too incorrigible a provocateur. The neatest solution would be for Blanc to maintain Bordeaux's success for another 18 months and see out his contract before taking over at Old Trafford in the summer of 2011. Ferguson would be able to move upstairs before his 70th birthday in the knowledge that there will be someone on the premises interested in comparing notes on vintage clarets as well as promising centre-backs.
