London - Pemain timnas Inggris, Luke Shaw, mengalami benturan di kepala di laga melawan Spanyol Dia mengungkapkan dalam keadaan yang baik.

Inggris menelan kekalahan dalam pertandingan melawan La Furia Roja di Wembley, Minggu (9/9/2018) dinihari WIB. The Three Lions menelan kekalahan dengan skor akhir 1-2.

Dalam laga itu semua gol diciptakan pada babak pertama. Marcus Rashford membawa Inggris lebih dulu di menit ke-11, yang disamakan oleh Saul Pada menit ke-13. Rodrigo Moreno membukukan gol kemenangan Spanyol pada menit ke-32.

Di babak kedua, Gareth Southgate mesti mengganti Shaw. Dia mengalami benturan pada kepala saat bertabrakan dengan pemain Spanyol, Dani Carvajal, hingga harus mendapat perawatan pada menit ke-53.

Shaw sampai harus ditandu keluar lapangan untuk mendapatkan perawatan lebih lanjut.

Lewat Twitter pribadinya, @LukeShaw23, si pemain mengabarkan kondisinya. Dia mengucapkan atas dukungan yang diterima.

"Terima kasih atas segala kasih sayang dan dukungannya, saya baik-baik saja dan ada di tangan yang tepat. Saya seorang pejuang jadi saya akan segera kembali bermain," tulis Shaw yang dikutip oleh Sports Mole.

Dulu... Ferdinand pernah gegar otak dan diwajibkan istirahat total dr sepak bola lebih dari sepekan sesuai protokol gegar otak di EPL. Kalau Shaw juga didiagnosa sama dan juga melalui protokol sejenis bisa2 dia absen lawan Watford dan mungkin partai pertama UCL. Yg penting yg terbaik aja lah buat Shaw. Karirnya masih panjang. Moga kejadian ini tidak membuat performanya drop lagi seperti paska patah kaki.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed he wants to tie Luke Shaw down to a new deal, along with other star players.

Shaw has enjoyed a brilliant revival so far this season under Mourinho following a troubled period at United, which saw him fall down the pecking order.

The left back's fine form earned him a recall to the England squad and Mourinho has now outlined his intentions to keep Shaw - whose contract expires next summer - at Old Trafford for years to come.

Mourinho also hailed Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Ashley Young, insisting he wants to give them fresh contracts as well.

'I hope they will stay,' Mourinho told Sky Sports when asked about the futures of Shaw, Mata, Herrera and Young.

'We had a similar conversation last season about Marouane Fellaini and I was always saying, "I hope he stays, I believe he will stay," and I say the same thing – "I hope they stay".'

Mourinho is also desperate to keep hold of star man David de Gea, who once again saved United from dropping points against Watford late on at Vicarage Road.

'I'm happy with the players, David (De Gea) is David, no need for more words', Mourinho added.

Meanwhile, Shaw's future at United appeared to be hanging in the balance before the 2018-19 campaign got underway but Mourinho has been very impressed by his development.

'Luke Shaw's evolution makes us believe that he is going in the right direction – I want to keep him,' Mourinho confirmed.

'Juan Mata and Ander Herrera, even if they are not playing a lot or if they are not starting matches, by the character point of view and by what they represent in the modern society in football they are almost unique pieces that I also don't want to lose.'

The pressure has been lifted off Mourinho following back-to-back victories against Burnley and Watford in the Premier League.

United begin their Champions League campaign on Wednesday away to Young Boys before taking on Wolves at home next weekend in the Premier League.

SHAW: WE NEED TO PICK OURSELVES UP

Luke Shaw has declared he and the Manchester United squad are raring to go as the Reds return to Premier League action against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho's men have an impressive record against the hosts going into this weekend's fixture and are unbeaten in two visits so far to the Hammers' new home, the London Stadium.

After being pegged back by Wolverhampton Wanderers last week, Shaw is eager to see a response in front of what will no doubt be another strong and vociferous travelling support.

“I feel like the team has been playing some good football. I think it was disappointing against Wolves,” the United defender told MUTV, before the midweek Carabao Cup tie against Derby County.

“I don’t think we were ourselves. We should be winning games like that, especially at home in front of our home fans. We were all really disappointed and we just need to pick ourselves back up again and keep going.

“I think we had a few chances and, if you don’t take them, you get punished. Luckily, we didn’t lose, we still picked up a point, but that’s still not good enough.

”We were very disappointed as a team but we’ve moved on from that now and we have got to focus on our games to come.“

It has been a fine start to the campaign for Shaw, who was rested for the midweek tie with Derby. The defender scored his first senior goal against Leicester City and has gone on to miss only one league game, after suffering a concussion on international duty with England.

These performances led to the 23-year-old picking up August's Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards and he is peak condition as the season continues to progress.

“I feel really good,” he said. “I feel strong, I feel fit and I feel like I am enjoying my football again, which is the most important thing for me – to be back out on the pitch and enjoying it.”

SHAW WITHDRAWS FROM THE ENGLAND SQUAD

Luke Shaw has withdrawn from the England squad and is returning to Manchester United, meaning the in-form defender will miss the two UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.

The 23-year-old’s exit from the Three Lions' camp was announced by The FA on Monday evening, and he will now return to the Aon Training Complex for treatment.

It remains to be seen if Shaw will be available for the Reds’ anticipated return to action on Saturday 20 October, against Jose Mourinho’s former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

A MINOR SETBACK

Luke’s departure from the England squad is a small setback in what has, so far, been an excellent season, after some superb performances at left-back with United.

Those good displays prompted Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate to recall the defender in September and hand him a first international appearance since March 2017. An aerial collision led to him being taken off on a stretcher against Spain, but the problem was thankfully not as bad as initially feared and he only missed his country's clash with Switzerland and United's win at Watford.

In recognition of his good form on the flank, both in defence and attack, supporters have twice voted him the club’s official Player of the Month, for August and September. Rather than resting on his laurels, he is determined to kick on and maintain form in what could be a vital campaign in his career.

“We’re professionals and I won’t get carried away,” Shaw said in United Review at the weekend. “I’ll just keep doing my job, keep working hard, keep doing what the manager and coaching staff say.

“I still want to improve and I still feel like I can improve massively, so that’s what I want to do, improve as a player and a person off the pitch as well and help the team out as much as possible.”

Game for anything
“I play Xbox with my mates, because they come around a lot, and we play FIFA and Fortnite at the moment. I also like to play a bit of pool and we go bowling – we always have competitions. We like to play for a forfeit so the loser might have to eat a hot chilli or something like that. It’s just a bit of fun and makes the game more intense, although you don’t want to get videoed on Snapchat doing the forfeit. Obviously, I also spend time with my girlfriend and we go to the cinema and different stuff like that. But I’m always competitive with her, too, if it’s a board game, then I want to win [laughs]. I want to win everything, no matter what it is!”

Time away
“When you go home, that’s the time to switch off. Sometimes, if you’re thinking about having a bad game, it could mess up your mentality a little bit or you overthink things and start making more mistakes. So it’s nice to be at home with my family, friends and girlfriend. But, when your day off is finished, you switch your mind back on and focus on the team's next game.”

Restless nights
“It’s honestly really hard to sleep after a game because of the adrenaline. Of course, if you win, you can go out for a nice dinner or something. But, if we don’t win, then you don’t feel good, you’re sad, you’re disappointed that we didn’t win, so you tend to stay in. If I'm struggling to sleep, I’ll sneak downstairs and watch TV or flick on my Xbox and play that for a bit.“

Staying grounded
“I’m really close with my mates, so I just do normal things. Sometimes it’s hard to do that, but you’ve got to stay grounded and just enjoy it. Of course, you had a life before all of this and you’ve just got to remember what you were before any of this. You’ve got to stay grounded and keep doing what got you to where you are today. There’s no need to change because of what I do. I’ll always be the same boy that I was before I started being a professional footballer to the day I finish playing.”

SHAW SIGNS NEW CONTRACT AT UNITED

Manchester United is delighted to announce that Luke Shaw has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until June 2023, with the option to extend for a further year.

Luke Shaw said: “Since I came to United, it’s been a whirlwind four years that have passed so quickly. I am very proud to sign my new contract and continue my stay at this great club.
