Kmrn cuman di bilang 'little knock' Rooney sinusnya blom sembuh __________________________ 21/02/2013 22:30 - ManUtd.com, Adam Marshall Scholes sees specialist Paul Scholes has been sent to a specialist to assess the knee injury that has kept him sidelined for the past five games. The veteran playmaker's last appearance came as a substitute in the 4-1 FA Cup win against Fulham last month but Sir Alex Ferguson is confident the 38-year-old will be back in a red shirt soon. "Paul has had a little knee injury which we sent him to a specialist for," revealed the boss. "It is a little bit floating in the knee which he has had for many years. "He will be back, though. It won't be too long. We are just managing it at the moment." As for Wayne Rooney's fitness, Sir Alex admits that the England striker may not be ready for Saturday's Barclays Premier League encounter at QPR. "I wouldn't think so," he conceded. "He came in for the first time yesterday [Wednesday].* "The medical people are dealing with him. He just had a bad sinus infection. He got it on Saturday morning and didn't turn in. He has been on medicine but came in yesterday. Hopefully he will start training on Thursday." |

Re: United Injury News
Rooney out of QPR clash and Jones could miss Real Madrid return leg, says Ferguson
Wayne Rooney will miss Manchester United's weekend clash with QPR but is expected to be fit for the crunch Champions League clash with Real Madrid. Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that there was an outside chance Phil Jones would be fit for the European showdown at Old Trafford on March 5, but the club's in house TV channel added that Rooney was facing a battle of his own. The striker has missed much of the week's training due to illness and won't travel to London for the meeting with the Premier League's bottom club. Victory for United at Loftus Road will put them a huge 15 points clear of rivals Manchester City, who host Chelsea on Sunday afternoon. On Jones, who limped out of United's FA Cup win over Reading on Monday night, Fergie said: 'We are working very hard. He has an outside chance for Real Madrid - no more than that. 'He is a young man who went into a tackle too brave and was a bit off-balanced. He certainly won't be fit for the weekend.' 'The only way we can approach it is by taking care of each game and eventually we run out of matches,' Ferguson said. 'I can understand from Manchester City's point of view why they are talking about us dropping points. But the fact of the matter is they will drop them as well.' The Scot repeated his mantra that, with United 12 points clear of Manchester City with 12 games remaining in the Barclays Premier League, destiny is very much in their own hands. It was also the first time Ferguson had spoken publicly since David Gill announced his intention to stand down as chief executive. The United boss has had a close working relationship with Gill, who apparently mooted his exit some time ago. 'David spoke to me about it some weeks ago,' Ferguson said. 'I was surprised because he is still a young man but I understand where he is coming from. Sixteen years in that particular job is not easy.' The manner in which Jones suffered his latest injury, going into a tackle with Reading's Jobi McAnuff on Monday night with the outside of his right ankle, has raised more concerns about the youngster's combative style. But Ferguson insists that he will not try to changes Jones's fearless streak, comparing him to United great Bryan Robson. ‘Bryan was exactly the same,' added Ferguson. 'He couldn’t see danger and neither can Phil. That's a lot to do with the courage they have. You're not going to take that out of him and I wouldn’t attempt that. 'He tackled awkwardly, with the outside of his foot, and he dangled his foot in there so that's why he's ended up with the injury he's got but you can't measure a person from a tackle because if he's got that courage and willingness to tackle. 'The great thing about Phil is that he doesn't care who he's playing against, he's got no fear about playing against anyone. He did an incredible job in Madrid and we know he's capable of that. We'll have to wait and see. We're two weeks away and a lot can happen in that.' Ferguson, meanwhile, has warned rivals Manchester City that time is running out for them to close the gap in the Premier League title race. United could be 15 points clear by the time City face Chelsea on Sunday if Ferguson's side beat bottom-of-the-table QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday. City overturned an eight-point deficit with six games to go last season, taking advantage of United’s late stumble by winning their last six games, but Ferguson believes that the chances of it happening again are remote. He said: 'I can understand from City's point of view that they keep going on about “if we drop points”, but the fact of the matter is they will drop points too – that's for sure. 'The only way we can approach these games is to win our next games, and eventually you run out of games. 'That’s where we are. In the run-in you expect to drop a few points, but so will they. To be honest, it's always a hard run-in in the Premier League. 'With QPR fighting for survival, you know it’s going to be a hard game on Saturday, and that’s probably what we need anyway – keep the awareness on making sure we do our job right. ‘With the right attitude, and the right players we have a chance.' Re: United Injury News
Van Persie injury concern
report by Nick Coppack for manutd.com Robin van Persie will be assessed by Manchester United's medical staff after limping out of the Reds' 2-0 victory against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. The Dutchman crashed into a television camera, situated just beyond the by-line, in the build-up to United's first goal. Encouragingly, he played on for 18 minutes following initial pitchside treatment, but eventually departed just before half-time, replaced by Danny Welbeck. Sir Alex told MUTV after the game: "He collided with a camera, which was in a dug-out piece of ground. He hit the base of it and has a very bruised hip." He added on Sky Sports: "I imagine it will be tender and sore for a few days but hopefully he will be all right, especially for the Madrid game [on Tuesday 5 March]." Van Persie joined his team-mates on the bench at Loftus Road to watch the second half, as United turned the screw and, with 10 minutes to play, added a second goal to secure three valuable points. The Reds' next test comes against Norwich City on Saturday 2 March, followed by the second leg of the Champions League last 16 tie against Real Madrid on Tuesday 5 March. |

Robin Van Persie Injury: Updates on Manchester United Star's Status
Robin van Persie was forced to leave Manchester United's clash with Queens Park Rangers after just 41 minutes on Saturday due to injury, according to the Premier League's official Twitter feed: Quote:

Luckily for United, it doesn't sound like the league leader in goals is seriously hurt. Sir Alex Ferguson probably just decided it was better to ensure his star striker didn't risk further injury with a rematch with Real Madrid on the horizon. United have a safe lead in the Premier League and were leading 1-0 when Van Persie was subbed out. Danny Welbeck replaced him in the lineup and would likely see an uptick in playing time should the Netherlands international miss any matches. Assuming the early talk of it being a precautionary move is correct, it won't reach that point. Van Persie has been a crucial piece of the United attack from the moment he arrived at Old Trafford. The club can't afford to lose him for an extended period down the stretch, so it's definitely better to be safe than sorry in a situation like this. More should be known about his condition after the match or in the coming days. Code:

Re: United Injury News
Phil Jones to Miss Real Madrid Game with Ankle Injury
The Guardian is reporting that Manchester United central defensive midfielder Phil Jones will miss tomorrow's Champions League last-16 second leg match with Spanish champions Real Madrid at Old Trafford. Jones picked up the blow to his ankle in the first leg—where he was one of the stand-out performers for the Red Devils. The hole left by the 21-year-old midfielder will be a hard one to fill. Jones' solid performance at the Bernabeu was one of the key reasons why the Galacticos were held to just one goal in their home leg. It's likely that Tom Cleverley or Anderson will come into the first team in his stead. Good news for United comes in the form of Rio Ferdinand's apparent recovery from the flu which saw him miss this weekend's 4-0 home victory against Norwich City. Despite the recent return to form of Serbian centre-back Nemanja Vidic after his spell out with a knee injury, having Ferdinand as a reserve (or even first XI option) is a positive addition to the team against any opposition. Something that might strike fear into the United faithful, however, is the news that Spanish legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas will travel with his side to Manchester. Having fallen out of favour with Madrid boss Jose Mourinho over the past few months, it appears as though the chinks in that iconic pure white armour are starting to mend themselves. Diego Lopez and Antonio Adan have both had spells between the sticks in the Madrid first team during this chaotic period to mixed effect. Despite a good performance against United in the first leg of the fixture from Lopez, any footballing fan would acknowledge that the absence of Casillas from the tie is a huge bonus for Sir Alex's men. It appears as if the odds are continually stacking up against the three-time champions of Europe heading into their clash with Real, but if the Manchester Reds have proven anything over the years, it's that they love a challenge. Tomorrow's match has the potential to be one of the greatest of the last few seasons. Let's just hope it lives up to that billing. Code:

Re: United Injury News
Nani injury not serious
Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful that Nani will be back on the pitch sooner rather than later, after missing the second half of Sunday's clash with Chelsea. manutd.com - The Portuguese winger picked up an injury just before half-time, when United were leading 2-0 and pressing for what might have been a killer third goal. He played no further part in the match and could only watch as the visitors rallied to force a replay. Sir Alex told MUTV: "Nani got a little hamstring injury. I don't think it's too serious but nonetheless he had to come off." It was the second time in a week, of course, that Nani had to leave the field prematurely when the Reds were winning. And while there was no numerical disadvantage on Sunday, with Antonio Valencia coming on as a substitute, we'll never know if Nani could have affected the outcome after his recent return to form. "That was a blow to us because Nani was playing very well at the time," admitted Sir Alex. Nani himself had told Sunday's edition of United Review, the official match programme, that his "confidence is high." He added: "This is my time and I think I can be important for the team in these big games. I feel I’m in good form and I’ve nearly arrived at my peak. I think over the next few games I can surprise a few people." |
