Ronald Koeman edging closer to Everton job as Toffees discuss compensation deal with Premier League rivals Southampton
* Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is set to take over at Everton * Koeman will replace Roberto Martinez who was sacked by the Toffees * A compensation fee for the Dutch boss of around £5 million has been discussed between the two clubs Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is edging closer to taking the reins at Everton, with a compensation fee in the region of £5 million understood to have been discussed. After leading Saints to their best Premier League finish in back-to-back seasons, the 53-year-old had started negotiations about extending his stay at St Mary's. The former Barcelona defender Koeman had a season remaining on his three-year deal, but the Dutchman now looks set for a move to Goodison Park. It is understood a compensation fee of around £5 million has been discussed and a resolution could be reached as soon as Monday. Rob Jansen, who recently replaced Guido Albers as Koeman's agent, told Voetbal International on Saturday that they had 'reached an agreement with Everton' and 'now it is up to the clubs'. Ronald Koeman is set to swap Southampton for Everton and take over as the new manager at Goodison Park Koeman is understood to have been the first choice of the club's new major shareholder Farhad Moshiri, although Sevilla manager Unai Emery is believed to have been preferred by some others at Goodison Park. The Spaniard, fresh from winning a third straight Europa League, is among the bookmakers' favourites to succeed the Dutchman at St Mary's. The likes of Eddie Howe, Frank de Boer, Andre Villas-Boas and former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini are also in the frame. Code:

Everton agree deal to make Ronald Koeman new manager and hope to unveil Dutchman by Wednesday
* Everton have offered Ronald Koeman a contract worth £7million a year * Toffees are close to finalising compensation package with Southampton * The Dutchman will have over £100m to spend on new players this summer Everton have agreed a deal to make Ronald Koeman their new manager and hope to formally announce him by Wednesday. The Goodison Park club have finalised the £5million compensation package with Southampton that will see Koeman move to Merseyside and succeed Roberto Martinez. Everton have offered a contract worth up to £7m a year for the 53-year-old former Holland international and will give him a transfer kitty of £100m plus revenue from sales in a bid to return the club to European competition and Premier League contenders. Koeman is on holiday at the moment but will return next week ahead of his official unveiling along with his brother and assistant Erwin and fitness coach Jan Kluitenberg. Goalkeeping coach Dave Watson and Sammy Lee will stay with the Saints. Everton have tied up deal for Ronald Koeman and hope to announce him as the club's new boss by Wednesday Koeman led Southampton to sixth place in the Premier League last season, three points behind Manchester City and United. Everton finished 11th. Everton are persisting in their pursuit of Sevilla sporting director Monchi as they look to appoint a director of football but expect competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who also want to speak to Sevilla boss Unai Emery about replacing Laurent Blanc as coach. Re: [EPL 16/17] Managers News
Everton finally expected to announce Ronald Koeman as manager on Tuesday
* Ronald Koeman has signed a three-year deal worth £6m a season * The Dutchman will be handed the biggest transfer kitty in Everton history * Koeman was the Toffees' main choice for the job along with Unai Emery Ronald Koeman is finally expected to be confirmed as Everton’s new manager on Tuesday. Koeman has signed a three-year contract, worth £6million per season, and he will be given the biggest transfer kitty in Everton’s history to revamp a squad that failed to fulfil its potential under Roberto Martinez. The Dutchman had enjoyed two excellent seasons with Southampton and would have had a European campaign on his agenda in the forthcoming campaign but he found it impossible to turn down the overtures of Everton’s major investor Farhad Moshiri. Martinez was sacked on May 12 after results had spiralled and Koeman quickly became the prime target for Moshiri, who acquired a 49.9 per cent controlling stake in Everton on February 27 and has been determined to make a statement. Everton spoke to a number of other candidates – including former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, David Moyes, who spent 11 years in the Goodison hot seat between 2002 and 2013, and ex-Ajax manager Frank De Boer – but it soon became a two-horse race. Everton are finally set to announce Ronald Koeman as manager on a three-year deal on Tuesday The main rival to Koeman was Unai Emery and Everton held significant discussions with advisors of the three-time Europa League winner at the end of May to see whether he would consider a switch to the Barclays Premier League. Emery, however, had second thoughts about meeting Everton’s hierarchy in person and, aware that an alternative offer from Paris Saint-Germain was floating in the pipeline, he dropped out of the race. When Emery got cold feet, that merely stiffened Everton’s resolve to get Koeman and he informed Southampton at the beginning of June that he wanted to talk to Moshiri. That left Everton with the task of agreeing a £3.5million compensation package with Southampton. Koeman – who will be joined on Merseyside with his brother and assistant, Erwin – had 12 months remaining on his terms but that was not going to be a stumbling block for Moshiri. It remains to be seen whether goalkeeping coach Dave Watson or Sammy Lee will join the coaching staff. Koeman has been away on holiday but it is expected he will be formally presented at Goodison in the coming days and he will be tasked with returning Everton to the top six, Code:
