FIFA suspend Nigeria for government interference
Soccernet - October 4, 2010

FIFA has suspended the Nigerian Football Federation due to government interference, after becoming frustrated with events in the African country.

The action means the country's national team will not be able to participate in qualifying for the African Nations Cup until the matter is resolved.

A FIFA statement read: ''The FIFA emergency committee decided today, October 4 2010, to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect on account of government interference.

''This decision follows the latest events linked to the NFF, such as the court actions against elected members of the NFF executive committee preventing them from exercising their functions and duties, the stepping down of the acting NFF general secretary on the instructions of the National Sports Commission, the decision of the Minister of Sports to have the Nigerian League start without relegation from the previous season, and the fact that the NFF executive committee cannot work properly due to this interference.

''The suspension will be maintained until the court actions have ceased and the duly elected NFF executive committee is able to work without any interference.

''During the period of suspension, the NFF will not be able to be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, and also not in friendly matches.

''In addition, neither the NFF nor any of its members or officials can benefit from any development programme, course, or training from FIFA or CAF while the federation remains suspended.''

Nigeria won their opening ANC qualifier, 2-0 against Madagascar.

Three nations bid to host 2015, 2017 Nations Cup
Soccernet - October 4, 2010

South Africa, Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo have submitted bids to host the 2015 and 2017 African Nations Cups, the continent's governing body has confirmed.

Last week, 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa confirmed its interest in hosting the event after Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in 2012 and Libya in 2013.

And the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the three nations all met the September 30 deadline to submit their bid documents.

"The CAF announces the closure of the application of bids for the hosting rights for the 2015 and 2017 Orange Africa Cup of Nations," a statement from the football body read.

"The deadline for the submission of applications of the two tournaments was Friday, September 30, 2010 at midnight.

"The CAF Administration has registered the following three (three) applications from its Member Associations: DR Congo, Morocco and South Africa."

CAF will meet next year to decide who will host the two competitions.

The statement added: "The hosting rights for the 30th and 31st editions of the continent's showpiece football event will be determined by the CAF executive committee at a meeting to be decided at a later date in 2011."

DR Congo will be bidding to host the 16-team tournament for the first time in its history, while the tournament has been held once each in Morocco (1988) and South Africa (1996).

Desailly still tempted by Ghana vacancy
Soccernet - October 4, 2010

Former France captain Marcel Desailly is still hoping to get the chance to coach his native Ghana, though he revealed that there have been a number of new candidates express their interest in the role since he held early talks with Black Stars officials.

Desaiily, who was born in Accra but moved to France whenhe was four, has held talks with several officials from Ghana, but a decision on who will replace Milovan Rajevac has yet to be made.

"Other candidates have emerged in the meantime,'' Desailly said. "But I am available, the project really tempts me but I would prefer to remain discreet in the media as nothing is done.

"All I know is that for the next (African Nations Cup) qualifier against Sudan, an assistant will take the squad. I will be in the stadium as a spectator. After that there is time as the next game does not take place until February.''

Reports suggest Luis Felipe Scolari, Gianfranco Zola and Juande Ramos have also applied for the job.

Kalo ngomongin Africa identik sama sepakbola perancis and indonesia...
Hehehehe....
Negara seperti Pantai Gading, Angola, Aljazair, Mali, and even trinidad Tobago punya pemain yg sanggup menembus dunia...
So, gw sih berharap Indonesia bisa mencontoh mereka...

Essien vows to make Ghana return
Michael Essien has confirmed that his absence from the Ghana team is only temporary.

The 27-year-old missed the World Cup because of a knee problem and did not play a part in Ghana's opening African Nations Cup qualifier in Swaziland last month. That was the result of an agreement with coach Milovan Rajevac, who has since departed.

"I spoke to the manager and he told me he was going to give me a break to get my fitness back on track," Essien said. "It is unfortunate that he left, and we shall see who comes in, but I will go back."

Essien was outstanding in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday but the midfielder knows he needs to work on scoring more goals ahead of their trip to Aston Villa after the international break.

Passes Right

"I think my passing is getting better, what I need to work on is my goal scoring," he added. "When you have the ball you have to be calm and you have to look for the space before you receive the ball.

"I try to do that and I am getting my passes right. It is always difficult to go to Villa Park, they make it very difficult.

"But we think about ourselves and how to go out there and get three points. The manager has told us to play the ball very quickly as soon as we have it and that's what we try to do."

Afsel Tagih Utang ke FIFA
Dimas Ramadani

Kota-kota penyelenggara PD 2010 menyatakan FIFA berutang.

Kami siap melakukan langkah selanjutnya—jalur hukum.

Troubled Togo threatened with suspension
Reuters - October 11 2010, 19:33

Togo were threatened with an international ban on Monday unless their soccer federation holds elections by early next month.

The announcement by soccer's governing body FIFA came less than a month after it was discovered that a "fake" Togo side took part in an international friendly against Bahrain.

FIFA said on Monday that it had accepted a request from the Togolese federation (FTF) to extend the deadline for elections until Nov. 6, but said no further extensions would be granted.

"The (FIFA) emergency committee has made it clear that if elections are not held by Nov. 6 for whatever reason, the FTF will be automatically suspended," FIFA said in a statement.

"In addition, the FTF has been requested to send FIFA a new schedule for the elections as soon as possible."

Togo's year began tragically when an assistant coach and a media officer were killed in an ambush on the team bus by separatists in the Angolan enclave of Cabinda before the start of the African Nations Cup finals.

The West Africans pulled out of the tournament amid worldwide sympathy, only to be banned from the next editions of the competition by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The ban was later overturned following mediation by FIFA.

Togo, who took part in the 2006 World Cup when players threatened to withdraw from the match against Switzerland over a pay row, suffered another blow in May when captain Emmanuel Adebayor said he was quitting international football.

The Manchester City forward said he was still haunted by events in Angola.

In early September, Togo lost 3-0 to Bahrain in a friendly but their poor performance immediately raised suspicions.

Two weeks later, the FTF said the team were a group of imposters and suspended assistant coach Tchanile Bana for three years, blaming him for organising, preparing and supervising the match.
