MANCHESTER UNITED LAUNCHES MUTV APP

(NYSE:MANU) Manchester United today announced that MUTV is now available in 165 countries* worldwide through the new MUTV subscription-based app.

Available at the Apple and Google Play stores, the MUTV app allows Manchester United's 659 million followers to live stream MUTV for a monthly subscription fee which varies by country (eg USA $5.99 per month).

The MUTV app live streams 24/7 or on demand and features exclusive content such as:

- Live commentary and near live broadcasts of all Manchester United matches
- Pre and post-match analysis by Manchester United legends
- Exclusive interviews with players and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho after each game
- Award winning documentaries
- Live Jose Mourinho press conferences
- Full replays of classic historical Manchester United matches
- Daily Manchester United news and analysis

MUTV APP TO SHOW CARRICK TESTIMONIAL

Michael Carrick's testimonial at Old Trafford on Sunday 4 June will be shown exclusively live * in the MUTV app.

The Reds vice-captain, who recently extended his contract until June 2018, has brought together United's Class of 2008 and an All Stars XI, featuring some of the best players he has played against, for an eagerly-awaited clash to honour his 11 years at the club.

The two teams will be managed by Sir Alex Ferguson and Harry Redknapp respectively and all monies raised will be split between his chosen charities through the newly-created Michael Carrick Foundation.

The MUTV app will be the only place to watch live coverage of the match outside of the UK and Ireland.

Carrick related content will be available in the app throughout the weekend, with live coverage from the Theatre of Dreams starting at 13:30 BST on Sunday, ahead of the new kick-off time of 14:30 BST.

Highlights and reaction from the game will also be available on-demand within the app from 23:00 BST.

The MUTV app is available from the iOS and Android app stores in over 160 countries across the world.

MUTV AND MATA UP FOR TV SPORTS AWARDS

We are delighted to announce that Manchester United's in-house broadcaster MUTV and the club's no.8 Juan Mata have both been nominated for a TV Sports Award.

MUTV has been nominated for the Best Sports Thematic Channel Award for its impressive output between 1 August 2016 and 1 August 2017, while the Spain international is up for the prestigious Play for Change Award for his Common Goal initiative.

MUTV is nominated alongside NBA TV and the Olympic Channel for the Best Sports Thematic Channel, which can only be voted for by media industry professionals.

The award aims to recognise the best channel or platform which dedicates itself to providing news and exclusive content about a specific sport.

Meanwhile, Mata's nomination sees him go up against the no.1 female tennis player in the world, Garbine Muguruza, for her efforts in support of Room to Read, and former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio for his work with his foundation - Dallaglio RugbyWorks.

The Play for Change Award is presented to a top-class athlete who has displayed an extraordinary social responsibility, supporting children and communities across the world.

MURPHY DOCUMENTARY NOMINATED FOR AWARD

We are delighted to announce that MUTV's Star Maker: The Jimmy Murphy Story documentary has been nominated for the 'Best Sports Programme' at the Royal Television Awards 2017.

The programme takes an in-depth look at the story behind how Murphy became Sir Matt Busby's right-hand man, and the pair's extraordinary accomplishments with United from then on.

Murphy is most well known for his scouting and coaching talents, as it was he who trained the likes of Duncan Edwards and Bobby Charlton, who went on to become part of the famous 'Busby Babes'.

The documentary has been nominated for the 'Best Sports Programme' alongside three entries from BBC Sport; BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2016, The Crucible: 40 Golden Snooker Years and Sue Barker: Our Wimbledon.

In the past, MUTV's We are United: The Story of MUDSA has been nominated, while, in 2015, the Sporting Reds: Anthony Crolla documentary won a Royal Television Society Award in the Low Budget category.

It is well known the Royal Television Society have been highly impressed with MUTV's documentary submissions year on year, with a number of nominations and wins under the belt throughout their near 20-year broadcast run.

This year's awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday November 11, and the club has already stated we hope to invite Jimmy Murphy Jr.
