Gary Neville enjoys victorious end to a difficult season at Valencia as Salford City secure promotion to National League North

* Salford City beat Workington on Saturday to secure their promotion
* Gary Neville and four members of Manchester United's 'Class of 92' own the club, alongside Valencia chief Peter Lim
* Former England international was at the game to celebrate elevation into the National League North for next season

Gary Neville's season had a victorious finale despite his troubles in Valencia after Salford City, the team owned by the Class of 92, won promotion for the second successive year since being taken over by the former Manchester United players.

Neville, who owns the club with brother Phil, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes, was at Moor Lane in Salford to watch the his team win a tense play-off final 3-2 over Workington in the Evo-Stik Premier Division with an 88th-minute winner from Jordan Hulme.

Salford, who were bought by the five players and Valencia owner Peter Lim in 2014, have now secured two successive promotions and will play next season in the National League North, just two levels below League Two.

Joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley have overseen two promotions since taking over in January last year and Neville, sacked by Valencia last month after less than four months in charge, said: 'It's been an incredible two years and the committee, managers fans and players have all been unbelievable.

'For the managers, it's a fourth successive promotion in non-League, which is unprecedented. They deserve all the plaudits. They have a team with unbelievable determination to win.'

Salford join champions Darlington in the National League North but struggled initially, going 2-1 down in the first half, before goals from Billy Priestley on 80 minutes and Hulme's later winner secured their win.

Class of '92 owned Salford City unveil ambitious proposals to redevelop Moor Lane

* The proposals would see the stadium's capacity increase to over 5,000
* Salford City shared their plans to the club's fans on their Twitter page
* The ambitious Salford City have plans to be part of the EFL by 2020
* Salford sit two divisions below League two after back-to-back promotions

Ambitious Salford City, who have plans to ply their trade in the Football League, have unveiled their redevelopment plans for Moor Lane.

The Class of '92 stars, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Gary and Phil Neville, are eager to revamp the stadium and if the plans go ahead, the capacity would increase to over 5,000.

The club have plans to be part of the EFL by 2020 and they see a redeveloped Moor Lane key to their long-term future.

Class of '92 owned Salford City have shared their exciting plans to redevelop their Moor Lane. The proposals would mean the stadium's capacity size would increase to over 5,000

Salford sit just two divisions below League Two but are on the up after securing back-to-back promotions in their last two seasons.

The club are looking to introduce a new all-seater stand, that will run the length of the pitch with executive seating.

There will be terraced stands behind the goals in the east and west ends of the ground.

There are also plans for a Class of '92 suite, allowing the club's owners to view matches from a better view. This would be a bigger upgrade from their current grass mound viewpoint.

Behind both goals at Moor Lane, fans will be able to watch the football from terraced stands

Just like at most grounds in English football, the club plan to segregate the home fans and travelling supporters.

Also, the main stand is set to remain, with a view to further renovation.

However, Salford don't just have plans to improve the stadium and increase their attendance at league matches. They are looking at building a 600-capacity supporters club.

Moments after the club tweeted their stadium proposals, Gary Neville couldn't hold back his excitement, tweeting: 'Come on Salford City!!'

Salford shared the news on Twitter that their planned proposals are going into planning imminently.

Former Manchester United star Gary Neville and Class of 92 team-mates infuriate Salford residents with tactics to gain stadium planning permission

* The Class of 92 have won planning permission for new Salford City stadium
* Local residents are angry at the way Gary Neville and his former team-mates have won the go-ahead for the 5,000-seater ground
* Salford City council gave Neville and ex-Manchester United stars the green light despite more than 600 people objecting
* The defender co-owns the club with Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and business partner Peter Lim

Gary Neville, fresh from annoying football reporters by lecturing them on how to do their jobs, has also infuriated Salford residents by the way he and his Class of ’92 team-mates won hotly contested planning permission for a new football stadium.

Salford City Council gave the go-ahead for non-League Salford’s 5,000-seat ground at Moor Lane last week, with Neville and Ryan Giggs making presentations that won the day despite more than 600 people objecting.

Residents want a judicial review and claim councillors were in awe of Neville and Giggs, allowing them to rush through the planning process in just seven weeks. The ex-Manchester United stars co-own the National League North club with Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and business partner Peter Lim.

Gary Neville has seen Salford City successfully gain planning permission for a new stadium. Neville co-owns the club and gave presentations arguing for a 5,000-seater ground to be built

Residents association chairman David Mintz said: ‘This decree that planners can impose anything they want on to a neighbourhood without any consultation with its residents should send shockwaves across the country. It’s an insult to suggest we need Gary Neville to come down here and rebuild the ground. I’m sure he would object if we were building at the back of his garden.’

Salford shopkeeper Martin Bredski said: ‘There’s no doubt the council were influenced by the star factor of Gary Neville and his friends. Planning permission couldn’t have been granted any quicker and the lack of consultation has been a disgrace. This is a Jewish neighbourhood yet they organised the presentation of their plans on Yom Kippur before rescheduling without telling hardly anyone.’

A spokeswoman for the club owners called the objections ‘total rubbish’. A spokeswoman for Salford City Council said there had been significant community engagement.

Sir Alex Ferguson opens new Salford City stadium as Manchester United legends Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville watch on

* Salford City unveiled a new 5,000-capacity stadium on Thursday
* The National League North Club have renamed Moor Lane the Peninsula Stadium
* Non-league minnows are aiming for promotion to the Football League by 2020

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson opened Salford City's new stadium on Thursday.

The National League North club have unveiled a new 5,000 capacity ground, entitled the 'Peninsula Stadium'.

Salford are aiming to transform the Moor Lane ground as they gear up for potential promotion to the Football League.

Paul Scholes was also present as their former manager opened the new 5,000-capacity build

They have revealed ambitious plans for the new build that will include a 600-capacity supporters' club.

Part-owners and United legends Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs were also present at the ceremony.

Salford are aiming to continue their fairytale rise through the non-league pyramid and plan to be a Football League club by 2020.

United's Class of 92 acquired the club in March 2014, alongside businessman and Valencia owner Peter Lim.

Ferguson claps as a plaque commemorating the occasion is unveiled inside the ground

In October 2015, the club was featured in a BBC documentary series Class of 92: Out of Their League, with a follow up coming in February 2016.

They reached the First Round proper of the FA Cup last season for the first time in their history, and recorded a historic 2-0 win over Notts County.

They exited the competition in the next round, however, despite taking Hartlepool to a replay.

After finishing fourth in the National League North last season, Salford are currently second after 13 games this season.

They lie three points behind Harrogate and four points ahead of Blyth Spartans in third.

Salford City's joint managers QUIT just days after winning promotion as Class of 92's Gary Neville calls the decision 'regrettable' amid failure to agree new deal

* Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley leave Salford after failing to agree terms for new contract
* The club said there were 'irreconcilable differences around personal terms'
* Co-owner Gary Neville called the decision 'regrettable' but 'the right decision'
* Salford had just won their third promotion in four years under the managers
* The Manchester club will play in the National League next season

Salford City have parted company with joint-managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley after 'irreconcilable differences around personal terms' scuppered new contract talks.

It comes just a few days after Salford, who are part-owned by members of Manchester United's 'Class of 92', earned promotion to the National League, English football's fifth tier, for the first time.

The National League North title won this season was the club's third promotion in four seasons under the management of Johnson and Morley.

Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson celebrate winning the National League North title last month - the pair have since walked out after new contract talks broke down. Salford City have parted company with joint-managers Bernard Morley (right) and Anthony Johnson days after winning promotion to the National League

A statement issued by the club on Tuesday read: 'Following a meeting held this morning Salford City Football Club and joint-managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley have agreed to part company.

'A meeting took place between the club's management and the managers but there were irreconcilable differences around personal terms relating to contract length and performance related matters.
