Re: Jordi Cruyff
Jarang-jarang ada artikel berita tentang Jordi, salah satu pemain United favorit saya nih, hehehe ....
United's one-man team can still beat Barca, claims Cruyff By Bill Mills Wayne Rooney is the only world-class player in the *Manchester United team. But that won’t stop them from lifting the Champions League trophy against Barcelona on May 28. That is the verdict of Jordi Cruyff, who played for both clubs during his career and now works as coach at AEK Larnaca in Cyprus. Cruyff said: “For me it is a dream final with these two clubs. “They both deserve to be at Wembley as they both have performed *consistently at a very high level. “Barcelona and United are different from all the other clubs in the Champions League because they come out to play good football and are not focused solely on the result.’’ Jordi believes Barca are favourites to become kings of Europe because of the number of special players in their squad. He explained: “Barca have a number of really special, world-class *players. “Lionel Messi, obviously, but also Xavi and Iniesta. United have Wayne Rooney, one player who really stands out. “The other 15 or 20 players are top quality players, but there is a difference between top quality and world class. “Where United could have their chance is the fact that as a team they are stronger. “No team in Europe is as united as Alex Ferguson’s group. United may only have Rooney in the world class, but they do not *depend on him as much as Barca depend on Messi. “United don’t need the ball all the time to win a match. “Don’t underestimate that, but Barcelona do need to have the ball to win their matches. “For Man United, 40 per cent of ball possession is enough to strike and win.’’ Source: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk |

Meski bagi sebagian orang Jordi Cruyff kurang bersinar di Manchester United tapi bagi saya dia adalah salah satu pemain United favorit saya sepanjang masa. Mungkin cuma fans United tahun 90an yang mengaguminya

Where are they now? Jordi Cruyff Johan Cruyff watches over his son Jordi back in 1982 Jordi Cruyff, son of the legendary Johan, spent four years as a Manchester United player from 1996 to 2000. He spent half a season on loan at Spanish side Celta Vigo in 1999, and during his time away the Reds won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble! His somewhat frustrating spell at Old Trafford, upset with injury, came to an end when he left for Alaves on a free after the expiry of his contract. Cruyff's fitness problems continued to dog him, but he battled on to play for Espanyol, Metalurg Donetsk - where he was used at centre back - and Valetta in Malta. From there he became Director of Football at AEK Larnaca and, under his guidance, they became the first Cypriot side to qualify for the Europa League. In April 2012, Cruyff became sports director at Maccabi Tel Aviv, and has guided them eight points clear at the top of the Israeli Premier League. At just 39, Cruyff looks set for a long and successful career in the football boardroom. |

Re: Jordi Cruyff
Manchester United's worst XI under Alex Ferguson
Right Midfield Jordi Cruyff Having a legendary father widely regarded as one of the best to play the game must be quite a hard act to follow, however Jordi did have the advantage of growing up and learning football in Barcelona and even broke into their squad while his father was manager. His United career was not successful, he failed to establish himself as a first team regular and made only 55 appearances in four years. Despite playing during one of the club's most successful periods he picked up only one winner's medal. He scored a paltry eight goals during his time at the club and eventually was shipped off to Alavés. sumber: independent.co.uk |
