@Galuh
Tapi kan tetep aja gambaran kekuatan mereka masih belum jelas karena statusnya yg pertandingan persahabatan/uji coba... kekuatan City ama Totenham yg bikin saya penasaran gila nih

Kayaknya musim ini bakal jadi perebutan tempat ketiga dan keempat antara Arsenal, Pool, City, ama TOttenham. Aston Villa ama Everton konsistenlah, dan Fulham juga bisa jadi kambing hitam tuh... Kalo peringkat 1-2, kayaknya masih berkutat United-Chelsea... Sejauh ini yg paling meyakinkan kan cuma Hotspurs yg uda memenangi piala Eusebio... Arsenal dgn Emirates nya yg dibanggain banget itu

No I in Team, plus your favourite flops
MEN, Paul Handler - 5th August, 2010

A fair few people are having their say on City ahead of the season start. Ryan Giggs and Didi Hamann to pick two.

No doubt all these people are responding to questions asked of them, but the common reply is… despite all the money spent, are City a team?

Judging by pre-season so far, it is a valid point. Now, before I say anything, let me repeat my stance that I do not believe pre-season is a reliable indicator of the season ahead.

However, anyone who saw United playing against the Airtricity League XI on Thursday night would have seen an impressive TEAM performance. There was just a natural flow to their performance.

Granted, the opposition and match was about as scary as a labrador puppy, but there was that intangible feeling that the United team were in sync.

City’s performances last season, the ones I saw at any rate, rarely had that genuine fluidity. The Blues have all the firepower in various parts of the field, it’s just getting that all going in the same direction.

In an ideal world, you need a couple of core players to hang/buy the rest of your team around. United struck gold in the early nineties with Scholes/Giggs/Neville/Beckham and success grew off them.

Chelsea have had John Terry and Frank Lampard at their core for a while now.

City need to identify a similar core and grow the TEAM around them.

For City, it is surely all about getting that fourth place this season, and even if the team doesn’t gel completely, I still feel they have enough to do that.

United, well, they’re looking slick and Vidic’s commitment makes them a much more solid outfit. They were extremely miserley at the back last season and that will probably continue.

Ferguson: Chelsea our biggest threat
MEN - August 06, 2010

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United come face to face with the biggest obstacle to their quest to reclaim domestic superiority this season when they take on Chelsea in Sunday's Community Shield.

Although Manchester City have once again been England's biggest spenders this summer, Liverpool have kept hold of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard and Tottenham are buoyed by a favourable Champions League qualifying draw, Ferguson is adamant last season's double winners are the team to beat.

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has been active in the transfer market, striking early to lure Yossi Benayoun south from Anfield and then agreeing an £18million fee with Benfica for Brazilian midfielder Ramires.

And, although there are still doubts hanging over the futures of defensive duo Ashley Cole and Ricardo Carvalho, Ferguson will be looking to Stamford Bridge for the main danger this term.

"With the experience Chelsea have got, you have to look at them being the biggest threat," said Ferguson.

"They won the league and the cup last year and I do think you have to see the team that won the league as the ones you look at.

"I don't see why anyone should think any different. Chelsea have the experience. You can't dismiss them."

Not that Ferguson is ignoring the other challengers either.

He has been saying for years now that the general standard at the top end of the table is improving and is convinced the trend is continuing, despite Sam Allardyce's claim that more top players are being put off Premier League life by the 50% top rate of tax.

"It is a league with a lot of dangers," he said. "The competition is being raised all the time.

"Last year, the monopoly of the big four was squashed when Tottenham came into it and they will make progress this year.

"Manchester City have bought again, so you obviously have to put them into the equation and Everton, who had so many injury problems last year, will also come into it.

"There is no doubt in my mind it is going to be a more competitive league every year now."

Not that Ferguson intends to read too much into the result.

Given that Chelsea won last season's encounter on penalties and then went on to win the title by a single point, it could be viewed as a barometer of what lies ahead.

However, with so many just back from their World Cup exertions, Ferguson knows it is more important to ensure his players all have enough match practice under their belts ahead of the new campaign, which means Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic may have their appearance restricted on Sunday.

"We always take the long view," said Ferguson.

"There is no point pushing players too early, so I don't think we will get the benefit of these players until the third week of the season.

"The World Cup is probably the pinnacle of a lot of players' careers. The intensity and profile of it means it does take a lot out of them and we have to give them a proper rest.

"It does mean early in the season there is a little bit of risk in terms of knowing players are 100% ready to be involved in these games."

Rooney and Vidic have been promised some involvement, as have Michael Owen and Antonio Valencia, who also made their first pre-season appearances in Dublin on Wednesday after overcoming hamstring and calf problems respectively.

Patrice Evra will not feature, though, given he has only just returned to training, while Michael Carrick has been ruled out for a fortnight with an ankle injury sustained against the Airtricity League XI.

However, amongst the long-term absentees there is some good news about Brazilian midfielder Anderson, who is nearing the end of his recovery from a cruciate ligament operation and showing no ill effects following a car crash earlier this week.

"The car thing wasn't as bad as was made out," said Ferguson.

"There is no problem there. The important thing is that he has made a good recovery from his injury and he will start training again in two weeks."

No coment lah,,,build bornfire ajah and take city to the middle..
1. UNITED
2. Arsenal
3. Chelsea
4. Spurs
5. pools
6. City
8. Birmingham
9. Everton
10.Blackburn

kalo ane rasa Papan atas tetep diisi ama:
1.Manchester United
2.Chelsea
3.Arsenal
nah untuk ke 4nya pasti ntar berubah2 lagi, bisa aja City dengan pemain bintang yg baru dibelinya.atau spurs bakal mempertahankan posisi big4nya.bisa juga Pool dengan pelatih baru siHodgson yg pengen ngambil kembali posisi 4nya yg musim lalu diambil spurs.yg bakal seru ntar pertarungan united vs chelsea yg mati2an mempertahankan tropi epl sedangkan united pengen ngerebut kembali.
optimis united bisa rebut kembali

Mourinho: It's Utd, Chelsea or City for title
MEN - August 24, 2010

Jose Mourinho reckons Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are the three front-funners for this season's Premier League title.

Champions Chelsea have streaked to the top of the table with two 6-0 wins, with the Reds slipping up against Fulham at the weekend.

And Mourinho doubts whether traditional big guns Arsenal and Liverpool will be able to mount challenges this season.

He told Sky Sports: "I believe Chelsea, Man United and Man City, that is it. It’s very difficult for Roy Hodgson to do it with Liverpool because Liverpool in the last years were getting worse and worse and worse.

"The Liverpool of 2004 was better than the Liverpool of 2005 and the 2005 [team] was better than 2006. It is very difficult for Roy to make Liverpool champions.

"I think he needs time and it’s not easy because I don’t think that the club went in the right direction and I don’t think Arsenal too.

"Year after year it looks like [success], but no, looks like, but no. Always the same type of comment, ‘it’s a young team’, ‘it will be next season’. I remember when we [Chelsea] played them [Arsenal] in a Carling Cup semi-final when they played the ‘team of young boys’.

"The ‘team of young boys’ in not any more the team of young boys now, they are the team of 25, 26, 27 year olds. So Fabregas, Walcott, Clichy, Song, Sagna, they are not any more a team of young kids, they are a team in the age to win things. But I do not think they will do it.

"I think it will again be Man United, Chelsea and of course Man City, because they have a great squad.”

Ferguson: Chelsea have the look of champions again
ESPNsoccernet - September 23, 2010

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Chelsea remain the team to beat this season but expects Manchester United and Arsenal to challenge them all the way.

After finishing last season by scoring 17 goals in their final three games, Chelsea have enjoyed a fine start to this season with heavy victories over the likes of West Brom, Wigan and Blackpool.

Ferguson admits Chelsea have the look of champions again but, while United and Arsenal both trail the Blues by four points, he feels the title race will go down to the wire again.

"Chelsea finished last season filling in the weaker teams with goals," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Anyway, they keep winning like champions and who wants to win this Premier League must definitely square up with Chelsea.

"Manchester United have started discreetly, like Arsenal. We and the Gunners will be in competition with Chelsea until the end. It's too soon to make predictions, but we mustn't forget Tottenham's progress. Houllier will need time at Aston Villa. The disappointment is Everton. I had them among the favourites: they only have two points."

Roberto Mancini's Manchester City have shown only glimpses of their undoubted potential so far, but Ferguson feels they will be genuine contenders.

"Manchester City haven't started very well, but with the squad Mancini has they definitely have to be in the running," he said. "I have seen them beat Liverpool 3-0, showing power and quality.

"Mancini has bought half a new team. It's difficult to find the right chemistry quickly. When they find continuity, they will be a threat for everyone."
