Default Erling Braut Haaland

Erling Haaland to Manchester United transfer rumours intensify as the striker's father Alf-Inge Haaland is spotted at United's Carrington training ground

* He has previously played under Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde
* The youngster has been linked with a host of European heavyweights this year
* His father has been spotted at United's training ground, as per The Athletic

Erling Haaland to Manchester United is a transfer rumour that is refusing to go away.

It may be a little more than just a rumour if reports in The Athletic are anything to go by, with the publication stating that Erling's father - former Leeds man Alf-Inge Haaland - has been spotted at United's Carrington training ground.

Reporter David Ornstein replied to a fan's comment, telling him that a source informed him that Alf-Inge Haaland 'had visited and been seen at United's training ground.'

The same publication reported last week that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent his 'personal scout' Simon Wells to watch Haaland.

The youngster is one of Europe's hottest properties having scored a staggering 22 goals in just 16 appearances in all competitions for RB Salzburg, including a hattrick in a Champions League win over Genk in September.

The Norwegian has previously played under Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde and has in the past spoken of his love for English football.

Erling Braut Haaland is one of the most sought-after talents in Europe given his relentless form. The 19-year-old has scored 26 times in just 18 games for Salzburg so far this season

In a candid interview with the Red Bull website in September, he was speaking of his admiration for his idol - and former United man - Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he said English football is his favourite.

'Every football player dreams of playing for one of the best and biggest clubs in the world,' the 19-year-old said. 'This has been a dream my whole life and I especially like English football.'

The 6'4 colossus was actually born in Leeds as his father was playing there in 2000, meaning he has dual citizenship.

All things point to a move to England, then, but the goal machine is reportedly being courted by many of Europe's top sides.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich are all said to be keen.

Erling Haaland's dad 'wants son to turn down move to Manchester United' as Alf-Inge is worried 'he will not get as much game time in the Premier League as he would in Germany'

* Erling Haaland is a key target for Manchester United ahead of January window
* Real Madrid and Juventus are also thought to be keen on the 19-year-old striker
* But Alf-Inge Haaland, his dad, wants him to move somewhere he will play often

Erling Haaland's dad Alf-Inge wants him to move to Germany this summer rather than the Premier League, according to reports.

The 19-year-old striker is a key target for Manchester United after putting together an incredible start to the season with Red Bull Salzburg, who he only joined in the last window.

Real Madrid and Juventus are also thought to be keeping an eye on Haaland.

Erling Haaland's dad Alf-Inge wants him to move to Germany rather than the Premier League

And while Alf-Inge played for Leeds United, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest in England, he does not want to see his son move to the country yet.

German outlet Bild are reporting that Haaland Sr. wants him to make a small step as he progresses up the football ladder instead of joining a European giant.

He wants Erling to play regularly instead of finding himself behind others in the pecking order at a big club.

That could see him move to RB Leipzig, according to the report, as they have been long-term admirers of his talent.

Leipzig are owned by the same company as Salzburg and have seen players move between the two teams in the past, like Sadio Mane and Naby Keita.

The Bundesliga side are thought to have the option to snap him up from Leipzig for a fixed fee of £27million — far less than United would have to splash out.

RB Leipzig chief hints they will join Manchester United in the battle for wonderkid Erling Haaland from sister club Red Bull Salzburg: 'We are already looking around for summer'

* Manchester United are keen to snap up 19-year-old striker Erling Haaland
* RB Leipzig have the same owners as Haaland's current club Salzburg
* They could benefit from that in the race to sign him in the summer window

RB Leipzig's sporting director has dropped a hint that they will try to sign Manchester United target Erling Haaland in the summer.

Haaland has emerged as one of the most coveted young players in Europe after a blistering start to the campaign that has seen the 19-year-old Norwegian score 26 goals in 18 appearances.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to be keen on bringing his compatriot to Old Trafford.

But the relationship between his current club Red Bull Salzburg and sister side Leipzig means the latter could steal a march on any rivals for his signature.

Other players who have gone on to make their names in the Premier League — like Sadio Mane and Naby Keita — have followed the same path.

And when he was asked about a possible move at the end of the campaign, Leipzig chief Markus Krosche seemed to suggest it was possible.

Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Krosche said: 'The boy is a very good player.

'Both in the league and in the Champions League, he does an exceptionally good job.

'Of course, we are already looking around for the summer.'

Bild have also reported that Haaland's deal could include a release clause as little as £25.7million for the summer.

Manchester United suffer transfer blow as RB Leipzig have 'first refusal' on wonderkid Erling Haaland from sister club Red Bull Salzburg

* Manchester United are keen to snap up 19-year-old striker Erling Haaland

Manchester United could miss out on top target Erling Braut Haaland because Red Bull Leipzig have first refusal, reports the Daily Mirror.

The 19-year-old Norway striker has emerged as one of the most coveted young players in Europe after a blistering start to the campaign that has seen him score 26 goals in 18 appearances.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to be keen on bringing his compatriot to Old Trafford.

But his chances of landing the son of former Leeds legend Alf-Inge have been dashed because of a contractual tie-up between the two branded clubs – and a reported £25.7million release clause.

RB Leipzig's sporting director chief Markus Krosche hinted that they will try to sign Haaland in the summer.

Manchester United 'to bid for Erling Haaland in January' as Old Trafford chiefs step up pursuit of £60million wonderkid from Red Bull Salzburg

* Manchester United are keen on bringing Erling Haaland to the club in January
* The 19-year-old is in sensational form and has bagged 22 goals in 16 games
* United have sent scouts to monitor Haaland, son of Alf-Inge, at RB Leipzig
* It is believed that a bid in excess of £60million may be enough to seal the deal

Manchester United are preparing to launch a move for RB Salzburg wonderkid Erling Haaland in January as Old Trafford chiefs step up their attempts to strengthen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's attacking options.

United have struggled to find a suitable option to lead the line since Romelu Lukaku left the club to join Inter in the summer, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial unable to step into the void left by the Belgian.

And in Haaland, Solskjaer has identified the perfect forward to be at the forefront of United's attack. The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for Austrian side RB Salzburg this season, notching 22 goals in 16 appearances for his club.

Manchester United are poised to make a move for teenage star Erling Haaland in January. The RB Leipzig striker has been in sensational form this season scoring 22 goals in 16 games. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is an admirer of Haaland and club scouts have given positive reports

According to The Times, United are expected to make their move when the transfer window opens in January, an unconventional move for a club that looks to do its big moves in the summer.

The north west club have been keeping tabs on Haaland, son of former Manchester City midfielder Alf-Inge, for some time. Solskjaer worked with the teenager while at Norwegian side Molde, and scouts have been monitoring the striker this season.

Those talent spotters have returned to Carrington with overwhelmingly positive reports on Haaland, and club chiefs are looking to waste no time in landing their man, with some of Europe's top clubs showing an interest in the player.

It is believed that a bid in excess of £60million may be enough to prise Haaland away from Leipzig, and the youngster seems open to the move - despite United being arch rivals to his beloved Leeds.

Haaland is one of a number of players identified by the United manager to transform the fortunes of his misfiring side. It is believed that moves will be made for Liecester City's James Maddison and Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho next summer.

Manchester United handed Erling Braut Haaland transfer boost as Salzburg chief insists their sister club Leipzig DON'T have first refusal despite both teams being owned by Red Bull

* Erling Braut Haaland is wanted by Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
* There were reports that RB Leipzig could sign Haaland in a £25.7million deal
* However, Salzburg's sporting director chief Christoph Freund has denied this

RB Leipzig do not have first refusal on RB Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland - in what will be music to the ears of Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 19-year-old has emerged as United's top transfer target after excelling at Salzburg so far this season.

Haaland demonstrated his goalscoring prowess once again on Wednesday night as he became the first teenager in the history of the European Cup/Champions League to score in five consecutive appearances in the competition as Salzburg thumped Genk 4-1.

He scored in the 87th minute of the match to take his season tally to 27 goals in 19 games, which have included an astonishing five hat-tricks.

Reports had surfaced that sister club RB Leipzig would have first refusal on the Norway international, should he leave, something that Salzburg's sporting director Christoph Freund denies.

'There is no such clause, that is not an issue for us,' he told Kicker.

'We would never own any club a right of advance to any player.

'That was not the case in the past and will not be the case in the future.'

It was claimed that Leipzig could sign Haaland for his reported £25.7million release clause.

However, United now can continue their pursuit of the player who is valued in excess of £60m.
