Radamel Falcao gets Salford hairdresser to travel to Chelsea in 400mile round trip just for a Brazilian blow dry

* Radamel Falcao has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League with Manchester United and then Chelsea
* Colombia international had hair stylist Ed Mascarenhas travel from Salford to London for a Brazilian blow dry
* The striker is expected to return to Monaco while his father has ruled out a move to China

Radamel Falcao has a Salford hair stylist travel down to the capital just for a Brazilian blow dry.

The on-loan Chelsea striker, who has not played for the Blues since October and suffered a long-term knee injury in December, endured a torrid time at Manchester United last season.

Falcao scored four goals all year for United, who sent him back to Monaco at the earliest opportunity.

Radamel Falcao (right) got hair stylist Ed Mascarenhas to travel from Salford to London for a blow dry

Falcao changed his hair style from long to cropped during his previous loan spell with Manchester United

But his spell at Old Trafford was useful for something - a fresh trim he was insistent on keeping.

Ed Mascarenhas struck up a bond with Falcao and was asked to journey down to London last week to spruce his hair, a 400-mile round trip.

Mascarenhas has a number of soap and reality television stars stop into his renowned Salford salon.

He first sorted Falcao’s barnet for last season’s Player of the Year awards after the Colombian was put in touch via Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo from his time in Manchester.

‘Falcao loves a Brazilian blow dry. The treatment is revolutionary,’ Mascarenhas told the Manchester Evening News.

‘It smooths and sleeks the hair giving the client manageable hair that takes very little styling.’

Quote:
WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN BLOW DRY?

The Brazilian blowdry began in Brazil in 2005 and usually uses a solution containing formaldehyde to straighten hair.

The treatment involves washing the hair with a special shampoo that opens up the hair cuticles in preparation for the straightening solution which is applied, combed through, then left on the hair for 30 minutes.

Next, straighteners are applied to ‘lock-in’ the formula and set the blowdry. Combining heat and formaldehyde prevents hair from curling, creating a long-term straightening effect.
Falcao is ready to return to Monaco when his latest loan spell draws to a close in the coming months and unlikely to return to English football after two difficult years.

But his father is adamant the 30-year-old will not go searching for the riches on offer in China and is still sure his son can make an impact at Chelsea.

‘I was with him about a month ago, he was very well, he knows how to handle these things," Radamel Garcia told RCN Radio. ‘He was positive, every day preparing to come back. These injuries are normal in football.

‘He likes challenges. He will keep playing in Chelsea until the end of the season. Many things can happen, he can start scoring goals and people can realise his importance.

‘He is not thinking about moving to China at all. He is just thinking about playing for Chelsea.

‘He is working every day to come back. Let me tell you - Falcao will be back on the pitch in a few days, if God wills.

‘There was no setback with his knee injury, but unfortunately he suffered another normal injury that any player can suffer. I had the same injury and it took three months for me to come back. They are difficult to treat. But his knee is fine.’

Chelsea flop Radamel Falcao: 'I had two offers from China, going there would have been easy but I wanted to stay and fight'

* Radamel Falcao revealed he rejected two offers from teams in China
* The Chelsea flop wants to stay and fight for his future at Stamford Bridge
* Falcao hasn't featured for the first team since the end of October 31

Chelsea loanee Radamel Falcao has revealed he turned down two lucrative offers to join the revolution in China to stay and fight for his future in the Premier League.

The Colombian, who has struggled to find the same form which saw his labelled as one of the world's best, has not made a first team appearance since October 31.

And despite speculation linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge, Falcao insists he's determined to make it work in England.

Radamel Falcao revealed that he turned down two offers from China in favour of staying at Chelsea

'It is true that I had two different offers to move to China, but I stayed in England to give myself another opportunity,' Falcao told El Tiempo.

'Going there would have been the easiest way out because it was a great offer, but I preferred to stay here and fight [for a place].'

'I am focused on the club and just live in the present. Football changes very fast and what today can't happen, tomorrow can.

'I'm not thinking about what might happen on April 29. My job is to give my best and when the time comes to make decisions, we will analyse everything and see, because everything can change in football.;

'Today I think about what Chelsea can do from now to May. I do not look beyond that. Me staying here will depend on many factors, it doesn't depend just on my decision. 'That's why I try to give my best in training to have a chance [to play], but this will be discussed when we need to make a final decision.'

Falcao Curhat Minimnya Tampil Saat Bersama MU
Femi Diah - detikSport
Selasa, 15/03/2016 17:15 WIB

Clive Brunskill/Getty Images

Jakarta - Radamel Falcao tak impresif bersama Mancester United.

Resouce Disini

Setelah cedera lutut belum mampu mengeluarkan kemampuan terbaiknya, semoga tidak terjadi pada Wazza yg sekarang

Radamel Falcao will leave Premier League a rich man with a broken reputation after two years, five goals... and £22m in wages

* Radamel Falcao is enduring a miserable season on loan at Chelsea
* He has scored just one goal while picking up £140,000-a-week wages
* Falcao is unrecognisable from the striker who was once one of the best
* Yet he is still adding to an enormous bank balance in England

If anyone can make Radamel Falcao great again, it's Jose Mourinho. That's what they said.

The trouble is, he didn’t, and Chelsea are left with a 30-year-old on £140,000 per week who cannot get a game, even when the striker cupboard is bare.

This is the curious case of Colombia’s all-time joint-top goalscorer. The man who scored four goals in 29 appearances for Manchester United yet, somehow, secured a season-long loan at Chelsea.

The summer before, Falcao was a statement signing at Old Trafford.

They already had Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and so on, but fancied a famous name after their lowest league finish since 1990.

They paid him £285,000 per week – or £40,000 per day and £14,820,000 over a year – and also Monaco a £6million loan transfer fee for the trouble too.

After he scored as many as Chris Smalling that season, United unsurprisingly decided against spending the £43.5m it would have taken to make his arrangement permanent.

He left Manchester and sources close to the striker said he wanted to sign for Arsenal. He wanted to make it in England and London was the preferred destination.

Arsene Wenger dodged a bullet, Mourinho didn’t.

He has one goal to his name in a blue shirt – a near-post header that wound up nothing more than a consolation because Chelsea lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace.

Against Swansea in a 1-0 loss two weeks ago, he made his first appearance since October, before going back to warming the bench in their following games against Manchester City and Bournemouth.

Yet he did make at least one appearance this week: in The Sunday Times Rich List.

In the 10 richest young sportsmen aged 30 and under, Wayne Rooney was No 1 with an £82m fortune, while down at No 7 was Falcao and his £29m kitty.

In the past year, Falcao’s wealth increased by £9m via his wages and an endorsement deal with Puma. Since this time last year, he has scored a single goal for club and country.

His stunning loan move to Manchester United never lived up to the hype as he struggled at Old Trafford

Monaco’s vice president, Vadim Vasilyev, thought about bringing him back in January but a calf problem saw that plan thrown out the window. He is living in limbo at Chelsea.

So what was it that Mourinho saw in Falcao that no-one else did?

The two share the same super-agent and, usually, what Jorge Mendes wants, Jorge Mendes gets. That’s a suggestion being tossed around in some circles. Did that connection play a role in his coming to Chelsea?

Or did Mourinho by coincidence think he could conquer a challenge that had spectacularly fallen flat in Louis van Gaal's face? It’s a guessing game.

What we know is there were only two options. Either a) Chelsea thought they could get out of him what Manchester United couldn’t. Or b) he would follow in the footsteps of Fernando Torres.

Falcao was the man who put three past Chelsea in the 2012 Super Cup. He was the man who earned the nickname El Tigre for his predatory traits. He scored 41 goals in 51 league appearances at Porto, and 52 in 68 at Atletico Madrid.

To join Chelsea he took a 50 per cent pay cut but is set to leave in the summer - so just the £20,000 per day and £7,280,000 per year - even if his steady stream of Instagram snaps suggests he likes life in England.

Antonio Conte is unsurprisingly understood to be against keeping him, given it would cost £38m to make his move permanent, and Monaco will welcome him back, even if begrudgingly.

Once known as one of the world’s greatest goalscorers, he had his injuries, but Falcao seems set to be the striker who just could not crack the Premier League.

Radamel Falcao attends medical ahead of sealing move back to Monaco after failing at Manchester United and Chelsea

Striker Radamel Falcao endured two tough seasons in the Premier League
He's contracted at Monaco until 2018 and has support of Leonardo Jardim
Falcao was understood to be paid £140,000 while at Chelsea last season

Radamel Falcao has attended a medical at parent club Monaco after a failed loan spell in the Premier League.
Falcao, who won't have his loan at Chelsea extended, posted a picture of himself on Instagram on Thursday at Monaco's training facility on an indoor exercise bike.
The 30-year-old endured a difficult time with the Blues last season, scoring one goal in just ten appearances.

The former Colombian captain was paid £140,000 a week during his time with Chelsea.
He arrived at Stamford Bridge when Jose Mourinho decided to hand him another opportunity in the Premier League after a difficult spell at Manchester United.
Falcao battled injury and attempted to return to fitness but only managed to register four goals in 26 games for Louis van Gaal's side.

Monaco’s vice president, Vadim Vasilyev, thought about bringing him back in January this year but a calf problem saw that plan thrown out the window.
His contract at Monaco doesn't expire until 2018 and it is understood that the striker will be given every opportunity to get back into Leonardo Jardim's first-team plans next term.

Radamel Falcao failed at Manchester United and Chelsea because they let him down, insists Monaco chief

* Monaco's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev blames both English clubs
* He believes that Radamel Falcao was let down badly in the Premier League
* Vasilyev says that Falcao wasn't given enough time to recover from injury
* Falcao hasn't scored in a year but he has shown signs of improvement
* He will be in Monaco's line-up for Tottenham game on Wednesday night

Radamel Falcao returns to London without a goal in more than a year but is finally offering glimpses of the talent which made him one of the world's most feared strikers.

With only five goals in two years on loan in the Premier League, it could not have gone much worse, although it was Chelsea and Manchester United who let down Falcao and not the other way round, according to Monaco's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev.

'Both clubs in England failed to relaunch him,' said Vasilyev. 'I don't know whether Manchester United and Chelsea did not have the patience or the desire to do that but I am quite sure this year we will see Falcao at his previous best.

Radamel Falcao returned to Monaco this summer after a torrid and frustrating time in England. He has recently recovered from an injury to his left thigh and wants to revive his career

'He is the same Falcao as he ever. We've seen that in pre-season. He scores goals, he's there and he is motivated, we are motivated and I think this will be his year.'

Monaco resisted the temptation to sell the 30-year-old Colombian international, sure they could restore his confidence and the fitness undermined by so little competitive football since a serious knee injury in 2014.

'You have to be patient but the big clubs have other topics on their agenda,' said Vasilyev. 'If you sign a player of this magnitude after a big injury it takes time and games to get him back into shape.

'This is what we will do and what Manchester United and Chelsea didn't do, failed to do or didn't want to do.

'We all see the qualities are there and it is a matter of time. Monaco will make every effort and you will see a very different Falcao this season to the one you saw in England.'

He has not scored in competition since his only goal for Chelsea, against Crystal Palace, last August but Falcao was prolific in pre-season before slight muscle injury ruled him out of the season's opening games. He returned during Saturday's 4-1 win at Lille.

Monaco, who face Tottenham at Wembley in the Champions League on Wednesday, are top of the French league, having already beaten champions Paris Saint-Germain. They have also navigated tricky Champions League ties against Fenerbahce and Villarreal.

Leonardo Jardim's team is bristling with promise after fighting off the annual raids on their young talent from Europe's richest clubs.

Arsenal were among those chasing teenage striker Kylian Mbappe and Manchester United, having paid Monaco £36million plus add-ons for Anthony Martial last year, have been in pursuit of 22-year-old Brazilian right-back Fabinho.

Bernado Silva, 22, Tiemoue Bakayoko, 22, and Thomas Lemar, 20, were all targeted by Premier League clubs this summer.

'The revenue from the Champions League helps us a lot to be stronger,' said Vasilyev. 'The sale of Martial was more to do with Financial Fair Play. We had paid a big fine and another one was conditional on us balancing the books.

'That's why we did what we did last year. We balanced our books and this year we didn't have to sell and we spent money.

'We cut off everybody this year saying we won't entertain offers and this was the first time in my football life I was able to go to Provence on the last day of the transfer market and have lunch with my wife.'

Much excitement surrounds Mbappe, a France Under 19 international who displaced Thierry Henry last season as Monaco's youngest ever scorer and is still only 17.

'He's a fantastic talent,' said Vasilyev. 'When we were drawing up his contract he could have joined any big club. He had many approaches and I am very happy he stayed with us and chose the project of Monaco.

'Players here know we are good at launching the new stars of tomorrow. Whether it's Martial or Carrasco we are good at that. Monaco is the right step for many young talents.'

The tax-haven also appeals to some not-so-young footballers.

Cesc Fabregas, unwanted by Antonio Conte at Chelsea, was among those who fancied in a move to Monaco this year but the club declined the opportunity.

It is a pivotal time for Monaco with sudden instability at PSG and proposed changes to the Champions League sparking concern in French football.

'The reform of the Champions League is important,' said Vasilyev. 'The change of format is due. We need more of the bigger clubs to make it more passionate and more interesting. So this is the bright side of things.

'However looking from the perspective of France, I feel France is the big loser of this reform. In terms of financial contribution we are fourth. We gave away substantial finances and with no sporting gain.

'It is good for European football in general and bad for France. It is sad to see such a big football power does not carry any weight with the European governing bodies.

'Since (discredited former UEFA president) Michel Platini there is a vacuum of French representation at UEFA.

'And the French clubs are not united like the Italian clubs who achieved fantastic results because they were all fighting for the same goal. That was not the case in France.'

France has three teams in this Champions League - Monaco, PSG and Lyon - and Italy two - Juventus and Napoli - but from 2018 the Italians will be guaranteed four places each year, along with Spain, Germany and England.

'It looks like a prototype of a Super League,' said Vasilyev. 'There is definitely a distant danger of a closed Super league and that's probably part of the negotiating tactics of the bigger clubs.

'We are talking the really distant future because it's so difficult to implement and it will take years.

'But in the long term this could probably happen within Europe. I don't see it in China and the USA because of the schedule.

'But a Super League could emerge in Europe in the distant future.'

Monaco Anggap MU dan Chelsea Kurang Sabar dengan Falcao
Meylan Fredy Ismawan - detikSport

Monako - Radamel Falcao gagal bersinar selama dua musim merumput di Inggris. AS Monaco selaku pemilik Falcao menyebut Manchester United dan Chelsea kurang sabar.
