And speaking about that world famous shirt, more than 6 million Manchester United shirts are sold in a year, giving Aon more than 6 million “walking billboards” annually. With each appearance Manchester United makes, they will add to their fan base in both existing and new markets. Starting in 2010 the Aon-sponsored shirt will continue to build equity for our Firm as it increases its impression rate globally.

Manchester United’s record of excellence on the pitch is rivaled only by their success as a global brand. Nearly 90 million people watch their weekly matches. Approximately 1.15 billion households have access to Manchester United’s games, and their web site receives approximately 60 million impressions per month, of which 70 percent are outside of the United Kingdom. The club has a great pedigree, and shares both our ambition for worldwide appeal, and our pursuit of excellence. This partnership allows us to bring the Manchester United brand into our core business areas, and will help us to grow in emerging insurance and reinsurance markets, such as parts of Asia, where the Manchester United brand is very strong. The Manchester United shirt is an iconic image in the world of sport, and the chance to appear on it is very rare — we are only the fourth company to do so in history of the club.

How will this partnership work?
This is a four-year global partnership and brand sponsorship agreement which, in addition to having Aon's brand on the Manchester United shirt, will present opportunities for joint product marketing and services to consumers. Was this a big decision for Aon in the current economic climate?

Kalau tidak salah ada aturan di Eropa bahwa sponsor olahraga tidak boleh dari produk rokok. Kalau salah tolong dikoreksi yach .. Namun jika benar, berarti mustahil rokok Indonesia seperti Sampoerna, Djarum, dll menjadi sponsor mereka. Saya sendiri tidak setuju dengan sponsor rokok.

Bakrie menjadi sponsor MU ? Menurut saya lebih baik dana sponsor Bakrie dipakai untuk menangani korban serta semburan lumpur Lapindo di Sidoarjo yang hingga saat ini belum tuntas karena efek dan dampaknya mempengaruhi perekonomian dan transportasi provinsi Jawa Timur secara keseluruhan. Saya yakin teman-teman di UICS juga mendukung hal tersebut.

Saya pribadi lebih cenderung agar perusahaan BUMN seperti Pertamina atau Garuda Indonesia yang menjadi sponsor MU karena bisa membawa nama serta memperkenalkan Indonesia secara global. Sayangnya dibutuhkan dana yang sangat besar untuk menjadi sponsor MU sehingga menurut saya perusahaan Indonesia yang berminat jadi sponsor MU lebih baik membiayai program pengembangan sepakbola usia dini di seluruh Indonesia untuk mencari bakat muda potensial untuk dibentuk menjadi calon pemain timnas masa depan yang berkualitas serta renovasi dan membangun beberapa stadion baru bertaraf internasional.
