Fergie reveals why ‘cocky’ Macheda is staying
With 7 strikers on the books at Old Trafford, many United fans have been wondering why young Italian striker Federico Macheda is not joining Danny Welbeck and Mame Biram Diouf by going out on loan. The promising player has shown on several occasions that he needs first team minutes to help him progress to the next level.
Kiko's 'cocky arrogance' helps with the birds. While he is an instinctive finisher and arguably the most clinical striker at the club in terms of one on one situations, he still needs to improve his movement, as well as to learn how to shield the ball from defenders and bring his team mates into play effectively. Many media outlets have made a great deal of the fact that there are United now have 8 strikers on the books since the surprise signing of Portuguese attacking player, Bebe. However, reports from Portuguese Man United fans and Sir Alex himself have now clarified that Bebe plays as a winger or attacking midfielder. Still, Macheda will be firmly in last place in the pecking order behind Michael Owen, Javier Hernandez, Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney. With so many senior players ahead of Kiko, one would think that his progress would best be served going out on loan to a premiership club. Sir Alex, however, would seem to disagree. He has rejected any prospect of allowing Macheda, 18, to leave on a temporary basis. The Italian – once described by Ferguson as being built like “an American middleweight” – missed much of the last campaign through injury and, while he is highly rated by his manager, he is also being monitored closely by United staff. “He is one we have to keep a foot on,” Ferguson said. “He has got a cocky arrogance about him. He will argue with players in a training session and he will compete for his ego. But he’s only 18, he’s not 19 until October and we keep forgetting that. He is an exceptional talent and he is tough. He does not get bullied in games. He gives as good as he gets. Cesare Prandelli [the new Italian coach] has spoken to our staff about him so he is aware of his ability. There was no chance of us ever letting him go on loan – he stays here. We need to keep an eye on him.” Remarks about Kiko’s attitude have been made before while he was on International duty with Italy’s U-19 team, but the lad seems to be good-hearted and gets along with his team mates. Every striker needs confidence to thrive, but this should not be mistaken with arrogance. Sir Alex is the master at getting the best out of young players and has shown that he knows how to handle different type of characters as well as temperaments. I’m glad that Sir Alex has recognized this issue and hopefully Kiko will go on to fulfill his potential. Lets discuss guys..

Mengherankan sih memang..
ato mungkin karena dia masih sangat muda, life time nya masih lama.. walau kadang ketika diturunkan tidak konsisten, tapi sering menjadi senjata pamungkas United....

Re: Fergie reveals why ‘cocky’ Macheda is staying
Kiko Macheda masih inkonsisten performanya , namun mempunyai potensi utk mjd bintang Old Trafford d masa yg akan datang . The next Christian Vieri in United jersey
Musim 09/10 lalu , dia bermain gemilang d akhir musim vs Tottenham Hotspur tapi di lain waktu bermain buruk ketika tandang melawan Blackburn Rovers . 2-3 tahun lagi , Berba dan Owen sudah melewati masa keemasan dan (kemungkinan besar) sudah hengkang dr United . Itulah kesempatan penyerang muda United utk unjuk gigi , seperti Macheda , Welbeck , dan Diouf . Let's wait and see |

Re: Fergie reveals why ‘cocky’ Macheda is staying
berhubung english agak jeblok, yg saya perhatikan pertama kali adalah gambarnya
penampilan Macheda sejauh ini sich masih angin-anginan, walaupun musim kemarin beberapa kali (2 kali ya kalo ga salah?) jadi penentu raihan poin United... berharap ni anak bisa terus berkembang

Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: Federico Macheda Needs To Keep Scoring To Become First Team Regular
The Red Devils' reserve team boss spoke to the reporters in Dublin about the young Italian striker's prospects... By Micil Glennon Aug 20, 2010 1:20:00 PM Manchester United’s reserve team coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that Federico Macheda needs to keep scoring goals to break into the first team. The Norwegian was speaking to reporters after United’s second string played Arsenal reserves in Dublin last night. The Gunners outplayed United for most of the game but 'Kiko' scored a consolation goal in a 2-1 defeat. Solskjaer, who scored 91 times in 235 appearances for United, many of them as a substitute, said: “As a striker in this club you’re always going to be judged on the goals you score. “He took his goal well. Of course, he’s not had so much football over pre-season because he’s been in with the first team, and he’s been challenging with the six, seven other strikers. He’s got 90 minutes under his belt and he’s still injury free so that’s the main thing.” Although Alex Ferguson wasn’t at the match Solskjaer said that he is always in touch with the reserve team coach. “Tomorrow when the gaffer asks me who did well and who scored, you say who scored and he’s on the gaffer’s mind straight away,” added Solskjaer. Meanwhile, full-back Fabio came off early in the first half but Solskjaer said that it wasn’t anything to be concerned about: “Fabio was tight in his quad or something, he felt his muscles and he didn’t want to keep on going and do something serious.”

Re: Fergie reveals why ‘cocky’ Macheda is staying
^^
Sebaliknya, gw agak optimis dgn striker ini. Disaat striker seumuran bahkan lebih tua dari Kiko dipinjamkan, kiko tetep ada di daftar pemain Skuad utama United...
