Neymar models new Brazil strip... as Scolari targets a sixth World Cup with 2014 hosts

Luiz Felipe Scolari launched Brazil's slick new Nike strip and claimed his World Cup hosts are ready to bring home a sixth crown this summer.

Barcelona superstar and Brazil's poster boy Neymar appears in the photo shoot as Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo was in Copacabana wearing the famous yellow shirt.

And coach Scolari warned Brazil's rivals the five-time champions aim to make an important alteration by winning the competition for a record sixth time.

Looking sharp: Neymar takes centre stage with David Luiz (centre right) and Thiago Silva (centre left)

'The shirt looks great, the only thing missing is a sixth star,' Scolari said.
'We aim to have that on there after the World Cup.'

The launch of the 2014 strip is the beginning of a key battle for Nike. as the Brazil shirt is their best-selling international jersey.

Nike expects Brazil to be its third largest market in the world by 2017, behind only the United States and China.

Sportswear rivals Nike and adidas are battling over supremacy in the 5 billion-euros soccer kit market.

Time to shine? Luiz Felipe Scolari believes his Brazil team can win a sixth trophy on home soil

The two firms are virtually neck and neck in a market which the American company entered around 20 years ago.

German rivals adidas recently announced that it had extended its sponsorship agreement with FIFA to 2030, building on a partnership that dates back to 1970. The deal allows Adidas to supply match balls, kit for officials and volunteers and to advertise at World Cup venues.

Nike has a long-term deal with the Brazilian Football Confederation that has run since 1997. It also sponsors Neymar, the young striker who will shoulder much of Brazil's expectation next year.

Nike is already celebrating an early victory in the kit war, as the supplier to 10 of the tournament finalists. Adidas and smaller German rival Puma each have deals with eight teams.

Yet the top four teams in the FIFA rankings - Spain, Germany, Argentina and Colombia - all wear adidas.

Luiz Felipe Scolari QUITS Brazil job after leading World Cup 2014 host nation to first back-to-back defeats at home in 74 years

* Luiz Felipe Scolari quits after World Cup humiliation in Brazil
* Pre-World Cup favourites finished fourth after third place play-off defeat
* Brazil suffered heaviest loss in semi-final history as Germany won 7-1
* Last time Brazil lost consecutive games on home soil was in 1940
* Brazilian Football Confederation confirm Scolari's resignation

Luiz Felipe Scolari quit as manager of Brazil after the host nation tasted their first back-to-back defeats on home soil since 1940 during a humiliating World Cup.

The 65-year-old stood down after Brazil failed to restore pride on Saturday as they were beaten 3-0 by Holland in the third place play-off, having lost 7-1 in the semi-final five days before to Germany.

The decision was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation following a meeting between Scolari and president Jose Maria Marin.

Worry: The pressure was heaped on Luiz Felipe Scolari after Brazil's 3-0 loss to Holland in the World Cup

Marin is scheduled to step down next year in favour of Marco Polo Del Nero.

The latter gave Scolari, who won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil, his backing after the humiliating defeat in Belo Horizonte.

Now, though, all parties have agreed a fresh approach is needed to rebuild Brazilian football.

'Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and his fellow coaching staff surrendered their positions to the board of the Brazilian Football Confederation,' a CBF statement read.

'The resignation was accepted by president Marin, who was keen to thank all the coaches and players and, by extension, the Brazilian fans for their support throughout the World Cup campaign.

'Scolari and his entire coaching staff deserve our respect and gratitude. They were responsible for returning to the Brazilian people your love for the team, despite not having achieved our greatest goal.'

The statement added Scolari restored pride to the Brazilian flag during his tenure.

It's a sign: A Brazil fan thanks Scolari for his 2002 exploits when they won the World Cup but wanted him gone

LUIZ FELIPE SCOLARI FACT FILE

Luiz Felipe Scolari has been around the block, and then some.

The 65-year-old has managed 24 teams since his first stint as CSA boss in 1982.

Here, Sportsmail look at the managerial roles he's held since 2000.

2000-2001: Cruzeiro
2001-2002: Brazil
2003-2008: Portugal
2008-2009: Chelsea
2009-2010: Bunyodkor
2010-2012: Palmeiras
2012-2014: Brazil
The 2014 World Cup was the first time Brazil tasted defeat in a competitive fixture at home in 39 years, having won the Confederations Cup last year.

The loss of the injured Neymar and suspended captain Thiago Silva proved detrimental, as Germany went 5-0 up by half time at Estadio Mineirao.
As a result, Scolari bared the brunt of the blame.

It is unclear, however, where the former Portugal and Chelsea manager intends to go from here.

'I will be remembered as the coach to lose 7-1, but I knew that risk when I took the job,' Scolari said last week. 'The person who decided the line-up, the tactics, was me. It was my choice.'

Brazil, meanwhile, will take their time before appointing a permanent successor, with under-23 coach Alexandre Gallo likely to be the interim caretaker.

Corinthians manager Tite, Sao Paulo head coach Muricy Ramalho and ex-Brazil boss Vanderlei Luxemburgo are among those in the running. Brazil have never appointed a foreign coach.

Brazil confirm appointment of Tite as new boss to replace Dunga: 'It's a personal goal and perhaps my best professional moment'

* Dunga was sacked last week from his second spell as Brazil boss last week
* Tite has been appointed as new coach of Brazil after leaving Corinthians
* Brazil failed to progress from the group stage at the Copa America

Tite has been appointed as the new coach of Brazil.

The 55-year-old replaces former boss Dunga, who was sacked last week from his second spell in charge following the Selecao's failure to progress from the group stage at the Copa America.

The veteran coach leaves a third spell at Corinthians to take charge of the national team after guiding the Sao Paulo club to a second Campeonato Brasileiro title in 2015.

'It's official! Tite is the coach of the Brazilian national team,' read a statement on the CFB's website.

'On Monday afternoon, Adenor Leonardo Bacchi was officially presented as the new commander of Canarinho.'

Tite has been appointed as the new coach of Brazil after Dunga was sacked last week from his second spell

Assistant coach Cleber Xavier, technical and technological coordinator Matheus Bacchi, and football coordinator Edu Gaspar have also joined the management staff of the five time World Cup winners.

'Now the time has come, I understood that I should accept being coach of the Brazilian national team and that should be part of my career,' he said.

'It's a personal goal and perhaps my best professional moment.'

Tite began his managerial career in 1990 but enjoyed his greatest success in his second spell at Corinthians between 2010 and 2013 as he guided them to the Brazilian title, the Copa Libertadores and the World Club Cup.

He then spent time out of management, travelling the world to study coaching, before returning to Corinthians in 2014.

Neymar scored a hat-trick in Brazil's 4-2 World Cup qualifying victory over Peru

Neymar overtook legend Ronaldo in the Brazil all-time scorers list

The Paris Saint-Germain star has now overtaken Ronaldo into second place on the list

Quote:
BRAZIL SCORERS

1 - Pele - 77 goals, 92 games

2 - Neymar - 64 goals, 103 games

3 - Ronaldo - 62 goals, 98 games

4 - Romario - 55 goals, 70 games

5 - Zico - 48 goals, 71 games
beda 13 gol sama Pele, kayaknya bentar lagi Neymar bakal menjadi top skor sepanjang masa Brazil
