NEWCASTLE have brought in Manchester United right back Danny Simpson on loan until January.

The 22-year-old, who enjoyed a spell with Sunderland two years ago before going on loan at Ipswich, is expected to be included in the squad that faces Reading tomorrow. He has been given the number 12 shirt.

The Salford-born defender is product of the Old Trafford youth system and was one of several of Sir Alex Ferguson's youngsters who were sent to Belgian side Royal Antwerp to gain first team experience. Simpson made 14 appearances in the Championship for Sunderland under Roy Keane and he boasts Premier and Champions League experience with Man United.

TOWN have signed Manchester United and England Under 19 midfielder Danny Drinkwater on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old comes straight into contention for tomorrow's big home League I clash with Southampton.

The Manchester-born player has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Old Trafford club, but was a regular in the reserves last season.

Tom Heaton - joining QPR on loan

QPR LOAN DEAL FOR MAN UTD'S HEATON

QPR have signed goalkeeper Tom Heaton from Manchester United on a three-month loan deal.

The 23-year-old, who has been capped three times for England's Under-21s, spent last season on loan with Cardiff and will challenge Radek Cerny for the gloves at Loftus Road.

"I'm delighted we've been able to bring in a keeper of Tom's calibre to the club," said Rangers boss Jim Magilton.

"We need competition for Radek and Tom will provide that. He's a good keeper who knows what it takes to play in the Championship."

Cleverley makes Hornets switch
manunitedyouth.wordpress.com, nickogs20 - August 17, 2009

http://www.watfordfc.com/javaImages/a8/99/0,,10400~6920616,00.jpg

United midfielder Tom Cleverley has joined the recent loan exodus from Old Trafford and signed for Championship side Watford until January, following Tom Heaton, Danny Simpson and Danny Drinkwater out of the door in recent days.

20 last week, Cleverley has made remarkable progress in the last couple of years. After signing trainee forms in 2005, injuries seriously hampered his first two seasons and limited him to just 25 appearances for the Under-18s in that time. At this point in 2007, there were major doubts over whether the versatile youngster had an immediate future with the club, let alone a long-term one.

United’s coaches clearly saw something there with Tom and kept faith, and 07/08 was a real breakthrough season. Previously most often used at full-back, a regular move into midfield provided a better stage on which to display his ability and he finished the season as one of the three nominees for Reserve Player of the Year, only narrowly losing out to Richard Eckersley.

An impressive (and prolific) start to pre-season with the second string last year prompted Sir Alex to summon Cleverley to South Africa for the latter stages of United’s tour of South Africa, an opportunity that the youngster grasped emphatically with a goalscoring first team debut against Kaizer Chiefs in Pretoria. With that form being carried into the reserves season, Leicester came calling in January, taking Tom on loan until the end of the season. Although that campaign was to ultimately be ended prematurely by a shoulder injury, he had already made a big impression as part of the Foxes’ league-winning side, appearing in 15 games and scoring twice.

The Basingstoke-born starlet has continued to add to his burgeoning reputation this pre-season, with another first-team goal in the friendly against Valencia (this time in front of the Stretford End) being followed by a brace on debut for England U20s against Montenegro last week. Sir Alex revealed after that Valencia game that he’d recieved several enquiries about the 20 year-old’s availability on loan, and Watford boss Malky Mackay has won the race to secure Cleverley’s services, initially until January. Tom will wear the number 20 for the Hornets, and will team up with England U20 colleague Ross Jenkins at Vicarage Road.

up date

A first, and admittedly brief, update on the progress of those United youngsters playing their football out on loan this season.

Brief because, as things stand, only six players have been loaned out, and also because only two of those six were in action this past weekend. Danny Drinkwater made his debut for Huddersfield as a 72nd minute substitute in their 3-1 win over Southampton at the Galpharm Stadium, while summer signing Mame Biram Diouf – who is staying at Molde FK in Norway on loan until January – was unable to prevent his side losing 2-1 away to Viking Stavanger and missing out on the chance to close the gap on Tippeligaen leaders Rosenborg.

As for the other four, Tom Heaton was an unused substitute for QPR in their draw against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park, while Danny Simpson’s loan move was seemingly finalised too late for him to be included in the squad for Newcastle’s impressive 3-0 home win against Reading. Rodrigo Possebon was a surprising omission from the Sporting Braga squad for their season opening 1-0 win over Academica Coimbra after featuring regularly in the side during pre-season, while Adem Ljajić’s Partizan Belgrade don’t get their defence of the Serbian Superliga title underway until next weekend.

Nottm Forest 2 Watford 4: Loanee Tom Cleverley's too smart for Forest

Cleverley (right) scored his first goal for Watford against Forest

Tom Cleverley, signed on loan by Watford on Monday from Manchester United, wrapped up a thrilling win for his new side last night.

The 20-year-old midfielder latched on to a Tommy Smith pass in added time to drill home and seal Watford’s first victory of the season.

Smith, who could be sold to Reading this week, underlined his value to the team and the Royals may just have to pay a bit more if they are to secure his services.

Danny Graham had put Malky Mackay’s side ahead just after the halfhour mark with a header from six yards out, but Dexter Blackstock restored parity on the stroke of half-time following a Paul McKenna pass.

Defender Mike Williamson restored Watford’s lead by poking home from close range after Smith’s header had rebounded off the crossbar.

A relative avalanche of chances then emerged as Smith quickly extended the lead with a shot from outside the box.

Dele Adebola, a 75th-minute replacement for Blackstock, coolly rolled the ball past Scott Loach to set-up a tense finale.

But Cleverley ensured that Watford would leave with the three points, as Forest continue to look for their first victory of the campaign.

Danny Simpson on Newscastle fans being louder than Old Trafford

he's on loan at newcastle from United

“I prefer to be in black and white than red and white [of Sunderland]

“On the way up here a lot of people warned me about what was going on behind the scenes, but I have not noticed it.

“Someone mentioned Sunderland had 41,000 against Chelsea – and we got 43,000 against Sheffield Wednesday.

“That just shows the passion the fans have for the club – it speaks volumes.

“We have more fans than them coming to Championship games.

“I am just glad to be here. Sunderland is behind me now – that was years ago. I am just looking forward to doing the same at Newcastle and getting into the Premier League.”

“It is right up there. I have played at Old Trafford, but I think it was louder here.

“The fans are incredible here. Even though it was only 43,000, it felt like it was full.

“I enjoyed it, and it was a nice feeling when the whistle went and we had won.”

SIR ALEX Ferguson has given Danny Simpson the nod to play in Newcastle United's Carling Cup tie with Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night.

Moffatt off to Alty
Posted by nickogs20 on August 31, 2009

http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q439/ManUnitedYouth/Blog%20Graphics/News%20Item%20Pics/scottm.png

United defender Scott Moffatt has joined Blue Square Premier side (and United Reserves’ landlords) Altrincham on a one-month loan deal.

Moffatt, 18, signed professional forms at Old Trafford in the summer after two injury-plagued years as a trainee. The Openshaw-born right-back managed just eighteen games in his first year with the academy and was even more unlucky last year, a persistent knee injury limiting him to just eight appearances for Paul McGuinness’ Under-18 side.

Nonetheless, Scott did enough to earn a professional contract and had started this season with the reserves, featuring in three games during pre-season (including the Reds’ win over Altrincham at the start of August) and making a competitive second string debut at Moss Lane last Thursday in the 5-0 Manchester Senior Cup thrashing of Bury, even chipping in with a rare goal.

Today he was back at that venue, firstly to complete his month-long switch to Altrincham and secondly to make his debut for the Robins, as they took on Chester City in a Bank Holiday clash. With Alty short on players, boss Graham Heathcote handed Scott the number 22 shirt and a starting berth as the two Cheshire sides drew 1-1 (more on that in our weekend loan roundup later on). A further seven BSP games are scheduled to take place in the next month, so this loan spell should offer Scott invaluable senior experience.

Loan Update – 29 August-1 September
Posted by nickogs20 on September 3, 2009

All the news from another weekend of action for United’s loanees. Goals, assists, clean sheets – it’s all happening…

At the Ullevål in Oslo, summer signing Mame Biram Diouf found the net for Molde for the 21st time this season (15th in the league), heading home a terrific cross from Magne Hoseth to give his side an 18th minute lead against home side Valerenga. Josh King’s former side responded admirably however, eventually winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Luton Shelton and Jarl-Andre Storbaek, leaving Molde ten points off the Tippeligaen pace set by Rosenborg.

Newcastle United and clean sheets haven’t been regular bedfellows for a while, but Danny Simpson’s arrival on Tyneside has coincided with a run of three shutouts for the Magpies. The latest came at home to Leicester City on Monday, as Danny continued as an emergency centre-half in the absence of Fabricio Coloccini. Despite his atypical height for a centre-back (standing only 5′ 9″ tall), Danny competed well with one of the more aerially dangerous forwards in the Championship in Steve Howard and earned praise from Toon boss Chris Hughton.

Tom Cleverley continued his fine start to life with Watford on Saturday, creating the opening goal for teammate Danny Graham with a clever quick freekick at the Liberty Stadium as the Hornets took the lead against Swansea. Unfortunately for Tom and his colleagues, former United youngster Alan Tate popped up in injury time to grab the Swans a point and deny Cleverley and co. victory.

In the Serbian Superliga, Partizan edged out a stubbornly defensive Hajduk Kula side 1-0 in Belgrade, but Adem Ljajić missed a great chance late on to wrap the game up. The 17 year-old played 77 minutes as he continues to pick up terrific experience ahead of his January move to Manchester.

United’s most recent loan departure made what was described as ‘an assured start’ to his spell at Altrincham by their official site, Scott Moffatt playing the full 90 on debut as the Robins drew 1-1 with Cheshire rivals Chester City, who included another former Red, Michael Lea.

Danny Drinkwater missed Huddersfield’s 2-1 wins over Yeovil (in the league on Saturday) and Rotherham (in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday) due to a thigh injury picked up in last week’s Carling Cup tie against Newcastle. Despite his promising debut against Accrington in that same competition, Tom Heaton dropped back down to the bench for QPR’s trip to Scunthorpe, a game they won 1-0 thanks to Adel Taarabt’s early strike.

Rodrigo Possebon meanwhile has returned to Manchester after his loan spell with Sporting Braga was cancelled. More in that in a separate news story to follow. :confusing:

Possebon back to Manchester.... no worried, we can loan him to another team :peace:

Possebon gagal ya di Braga? klo cuman duduk di bangku cadangan sih bisa diterima, tapi klo sampe nggak masuk roster ya udah. mending cabut aja...

Sekarang kesempatannya cuman dipinjemin ke klub divisi championship ke bawah dah. moga dianya mau dan disana bisa berkembang. klo inget kasus gini jadi inget lee martin. moga ntar nggak seperti lee martin...

Hornets loan United youngster
Northern Irish defender moves to Vicarage Road
Last updated: 14th September 2009

http://img.skysports.com/09/09/218x298/cathcartcropped_2360390.jpg

Watford have swooped to sign Manchester United defender Craig Cathcart on loan until January.

The 20-year-old was on the verge of signing for Newcastle on transfer-deadline day but the deal collapsed in the 11th hour after he failed a medical at St James' Park.

The Magpies were rumoured to be interested in signing the youngster on loan, but the Belfast-born defender has opted for a move to Vicarage Road.

Cathcart spent last season on loan in the Championship at Plymouth Argyle, where he made 33 appearances, and a number of clubs were reportedly interested in his signature.

The Hornets travel to Home Park on Tuesday but Cathcart will not be available to play until the weekend game against Leicester.

Mackay impressed with Cleverley
Watford boss Malky Mackay says he has been impressed with midfielder Tom Cleverley's efforts since joining on loan from Manchester United last month.

The 20-year-old scored the winner for the Hornets just four minutes into their match at Plymouth on Tuesday.

And Mackay told BBC London 94.9: "He's a great character, so enthusiastic and has shown in every game he's quality.

"He's actually scored goals, he's set up goals and he's shown a real willingness to be a team player."

After a loan spell with Leicester City last season, Cleverley has now netted three times in five games for Watford.

Since joining the Vicarage Road outfit in August, Mackay says Cleverley has fitted in well in his youthful squad, who are beginning to show a lot of initiative.

"They've been really alive the youngsters as far as that's concerned," the Watford boss said. "You know they're alive to any sort of little effort.

"You play on a quick free-kick if someone doesn't pick you up. We worked it again from the corner two or three times but the one that counted obviously scored the goal and it's just something like that, that wins the game. "

And speaking after Tuesday's 1-0 win at Plymouth, Mackay said he is confident in his side's future potential as they continue to develop.

United duo David Gray and James Chester have joined Championship side Plymouth Argyle on loan until 19 December.

For Gray, the move is a quick return to Home Park, where he spent five months last season and caught the eye in his 15 appearances. He made his second debut for the Pilgrims in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Newcastle.

The Scot has also enjoyed loans with Crewe Alexandra and Royal Antwerp. For Chester, the move to Plymouth is just the second temporary switch away from Old Trafford.

The Reserves' skipper made five starts for Peterborough in a three month spell last season, and will provide further defensive cover for Paul Sturrock's injury-hit side.

With just two points from eight games so far this season, the Pilgrims are currently propping up the Championship.

Loan Ranger enjoying life

http://picsrv.manutd.com/?fif=/manu/img_10_31253_720.jpg&obj=iip,1.0&wid=480&hei=179&rgn=0.145,0.2293193717277487,0.8,0.187434554973822&cvt=jpeg

Despite starting just two games to date in his loan spell at QPR, goalkeeper Tom Heaton tells ManUtd.com that he is prepared to bide his time and keep learning...

Tell us about your loan so far...
Well, QPR is a very good club, I get on with all the players and the staff have been excellent. It’s been a touch frustrating to have played just two games, but that’s football sometimes. You have to be patient but (first choice goalkeeper) Radek Cerny has done very well to be fair. I accept that and I just have to keep striving to be in the team. Obviously I’m hopeful that at some point I’ll be in there.

How’s it comparing to your previous loans?
Last season I started as number one at Cardiff, but picked up a couple of injuries as the season progressed. That made things more difficult, but by the end of the season I was back in the team again. So I’ve seen that patience pays off. If you keep going, keep trying to improve, work hard every day and get back in the team, then it will pay off.

You've started two League Cup ties; how have they been as experiences?
Very good. We played Accrington Stanley and we were expecting to win, especially being at home. On the night they played very well and we struggled a bit, so it turned out to be a more difficult game than we expected. I was fortunate enough to get the man of the match award in that game, which was decent for me and a good way to start. Then we gave a good account of ourselves in the next round at Chelsea. I was fairly busy and really enjoyed playing at Stamford Bridge, but it's a shame we couldn't spring a shock.

Is there more scope for frustration as a loan ‘keeper, since there’s only one berth to go for?
Very much so, but that’s the nature of the position. You only change your goalkeeper when you have to, really. It’s not like an outfield player where you come on and bed in for 10 or 20 minutes as a sub. As a goalkeeper there’s only one position and it tends to be the case that once you’ve got it, you’ve got it for a while. I understand that and it’s just about having patience and continuing to work hard.

You’ve not played much yet but would you say you’ve learned anything new?
Of course. Every place you come to, you’re under different management, playing with different players and adjusting to different styles of play. You can always learn things, and obviously with Radek Cerny here as well I can learn a great deal off him. He’s 35 and been around and done it with Spurs and Slavia Prague, and now here, and he’s got a lot of experience. You take the most out of it and try to absorb as much stuff as you can. I’m not going to deny that the biggest thing is playing, that’s what I’m trying to do, but on top of that you still want to improve every day. I’m 23 now, which as a goalkeeper isn’t the oldest, so I want to keep developing. Since I’ve been down here I’ve been working with Dave Rouse, who’s the goalie coach, and he used to work at United when I was in the Academy. It’s been good to catch up with him. He’s obviously on the same page as me in terms of trying to improve, and it’s been fantastic.

How would you describe QPR’s playing style?
(Manager) Jim Magilton’s all about passing and playing, really. He’s not into lumping it forward, he wants pass, pass, pass, which is fantastic for me because it’s what I’m used to. I like him a lot. He just likes quick play with one and two-touch passing. If you can get that going in the Championship then you can be successful in that. He’s got a lot of experience himself and he’s passing that on. It’s a nice way to play and the lads are coming round to that way of thinking now. Some of the stuff we’re playing is excellent and if we carry on doing that then results will keep improving.

What are your new team-mates like?
Excellent, actually, I have to say. It’s like the first day at school when you come to a new club, but it’s a good experience meeting new people. I didn’t actually know anyone here at all, which in a way makes it better because you have to go and talk to everyone. You don’t stick around people you know and it’s been good. They’ve all helped me settle in and they’ve been great.

How does a typical day vary?
It’s very similar to United. You come in, you might get a bit of breakfast. You settle down for a bit and then head out training around 10:15. With the keepers first, then with the players, you might do some gym work or have some lunch straight after training and go into the gym in the afternoon. It’s like United in that you have the structured training, then the possibility to do any extra individual work that you want to do.

What’s your main aim for the remainder of the season?
To be honest, for the rest of this loan period it’s just to get in the team and play well. My aim’s definitely to get the shirt off Radek and keep it. After that I’ll reassess whether the loan gets extended, or I come back to United or go somewhere else. Up until the 14th of November, my mind’s fully focused on getting in that team and staying there.

Simmo shining on Tyneside

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/incoming/article163617.ece/ALTERNATES/gallery-large/89881250.jpg

United defender Danny Simpson is playing an integral role as Newcastle bid to return to the top flight, starting virtually every game for the table-topping Magpies. ManUtd.com grabbed 10 minutes with Simmo for the story so far...

You've been on plenty of loan before; how does this one compare?
It’s up there. Obviously with Newcastle being relegated last season and everything that’s gone on, people think there’s a lot going on behind the scenes. Since I’ve been here I’ve only seen a good bunch of players and staff, and we’re playing well and with a lot of confidence. The fans are crazy for football, so it’s up there among the best.

Are there any parallels between United and Newcastle?
In some ways. In the Premier League, everybody sees United at Old Trafford as the fixture, the big scalp to go for, while United are expected to win every game. On a smaller scale, it’s like that here. Newcastle at St James’ Park is what all the Championship clubs look at now. 45,000 fans turn up, they’re very passionate and expect wins, and the expectations and demands are very high.

Where are you living?
I’m in an apartment in Newcastle. I was in a hotel for a few weeks, but it’s sorted now. It’s easy. Fraizer (Campbell) is close by; he was round recently actually to play a bit of Pro Evo - old habits die hard! We’re still doing the same things we used to. To be fair, I won last time we played. He’s good, but he had an off-day and I took advantage!

Have all the players banded together, given Newcastle's off-field turmoil?
Obviously we can’t affect what goes on upstairs. We’ve just got to train, play matches and win points. I think it has pulled us together. A few people have left, so the small group that remains has been pulled tight together and we’re all fighting for one another to do well and get out of this league.

What are your new team-mates like?
I know a few of them anyway – obviously Butty (Nicky Butt) and Smudge (Alan Smith), and I know Danny Guthrie from when he used to be United when he was 14. I’ve always stayed in contact with him since he left, so coming up here has been great. Everyone’s great. Even the lads I didn’t know made it very easy for me to settle in. Joey (Barton) is a top lad who always has a smile on his face, Andy Carroll, (Steve) Harper. The foreign lads are funny. Geremi, to be fair, give me tips every day and he’s helping me. He’s been at some of the best clubs in the world, so that’s unbelievable for me. It’s a good mix of lads.

How do you think Chris Hughton has done as caretaker manager?
Obviously he’s done really well. All the talk of different managers coming in can’t be easy for him, but he’s done well. He’s given me a chance to play and it’s been great. He’s spot on in training and his preparation for games is spot-on too, he’s getting all the background on the opposition. Some lads don’t know who they’re up against in this league, and Chris has made sure we’re prepared for each game.

What have you learned so far?
For me, the loan at Blackburn didn’t go too well. It’s just getting back into playing week in, week out, which I’ve missed. It wasn’t a nice, enjoyable time so it’s good to be back in action. There are a lot of quality players in this team who I’m always learning off, the likes of Nicky Butt, and the staff and how they approach games.

What do you think went wrong for you at Blackburn?
The first six months I played the first 12 out of 14 league games under Paul Ince. The team weren’t doing too well, but it was going well for me personally. Incey got sacked and Big Sam came in and it was just one of those things. People have their favourites and their ways of playing and my face didn’t fit when Sam came in. That’s part of football. I just got my head down, carried on training and saw the season out.

Have you been pleased with your performances?
It’s going really well. Over the first few games I was just getting into it, but now I’m feeling comfortable and more settled at the club with the staff, lads and fans. I just look forward to every game I can be involved in.

Have United been regularly in touch with you?
(Laughs) Yeah, Joycey (Warren Joyce) is always ringing me up! He’s still watching all the DVDs after every game and ringing us to see how the games are going. He’s been to a couple of games too and given me a couple of pointers, positive and negative, and he’s keeping an eye on it because I’m still a United player. The contract’s running out but they’re still taking an interest in how I’m doing, and I’m only here till January. At the moment we’ll be making a decision in January.

It must be quite reassuring to have that regular contact...
Yeah, obviously I still support the club and follow them. I’ve been on so many loan spells that sometimes you feel like you’re always away. So it’s good to get phone calls and know they’re still watching you. Jonny Evans rang the other week to say that he was watching my games and the lads were keeping an eye on how Newcastle were faring, and that’s nice to hear. The other lads are still looking to see how the loan lads are doing.

What's your aim for this season?
For now, to get as many games as I can for Newcastle before January. I’d like to get 15-20 games before then and be in the top two in the Championship. After that I’ll sit down with Sir Alex and make a decision on what to do next. If United said they wanted me to be involved because of injuries, then I’d love that. It’s going well here and I’d love to spend a full season helping them get promotion and maybe winning another Championship. I wouldn’t mind winning another one!

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has brought in teenage Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Amos on loan.

The Posh boss struck a deal with his father, Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson, to land the 19-year-old on a one-month deal.

Amos will provide cover at London Road after first-choice Joe Lewis was dismissed in the Carling Cup defeat at Blackburn in midweek.

The teenager has made one appearance for United in the Carling Cup win over Middlesbrough in 2008.

He will compete with James McKeown to start against Barnsley in the Championship on Saturday.

Gills seal Brandy loan
Red Devils striker signs three-month deal with League One club

http://img.skysports.com/09/11/218x298/brandy_2380649.jpg

Gillingham have snapped up Manchester United youngster Febian Brandy on a three-month loan deal.

Gills manager Mark Stimson had been reportedly tracking the 20-year-old for some weeks now and have finally seen their efforts rewarded.

The striker has experienced League One football before whilst spending the season on loan at Swansea in 2007/08.

Since then Brandy has had another loan spell with the Swans while the frontman spent three months on loan at Hereford towards the end of last season.

Brandy has never featured for the Red Devils first-team but has been a regular in the reserve side for a number of years while he has also represented England Under 20s.

United have given Gillingham permission to select the pacey Brandy for this weekend's FA Cup clash with Southend.

CLEVER LOAN SIGNINGS GET HORNETS BUZZING
Sunday November 8,2009 By Hector Nunns - dailyexpress.co.uk

WATFORD’S Tom Cleverley was the star turn for Malky Mackay’s blue-chip borrowed army as the Hornets easily saw off Preston to surge into play-off contention.

The England Under-21 midfielder is on loan in Hertfordshire from Manchester United, along with team-mate Craig Cathcart.

And he may just have given Sir Alex Ferguson something to mull over when Cleverley’s Vicarage road spell comes up for renewal in January.

Throw in the equally impressive Henri Lansbury from Arsenal and prodigal son Heidar Helguson, and Mackay has a quartet to savour.

Mackay said: “We are very pleased with that performance. After the 5-0 at West Brom it was very important to respond. We kept a clean sheet, and created a lot of chances against an experienced Championship team.

“I know you will all probably write about Tom Cleverley and Henri Lansbury, but there were other players out there who were exceptional – people like Don Cowie and John Eustace.

“Sir Alex and Arsene Wenger are updated monthly on the progress of their players, with reports and DVDs, and there are ongoing talks to keep these players longer than January.”

Iceland striker Helguson, 32, on his first start since a loan move back from QPR, and Cleverley got the goals that provided the Hornets with a fully deserved victory.

Preston boss Alan Irvine was left a bewildered figure on the touchline after a dismal showing from his supposed established Championship force.

This defeat means Preston have now won just one of their last seven matches – a damaging run in such a tight division.

A dejected Irvine said: “We were very poor. The first half was awful, the second half was better but it couldn’t have been worse. It was unacceptable and we didn’t do any of the things we needed to. We were second best all over the park.”

Mackay had urged his Hornets to show the perfect response after their 5-0 drubbing at West Bromwich Albion the previous week.

Preston changed half their outfield team from their last outing, which included a welcome return for captain Callum Davidson for a first appearance in two months after injury.

Also back into Irvine’s line-up were burly forward Jon ‘The Beast’ Parkin, and Macedonian midfielder Velice Sumulikoski.

But with just nine minutes on the clock Watford had broken the deadlock.

Cowie, proving a constant threat, delivered a fine cross and Helguson pulled away at the far post to plant a header back across Andy Lonergan and into the corner of the net.

A second goal was almost inevitable – and it arrived after 33 minutes. Lansbury ran at the Preston defence before releasing Cleverley, and he provided the slide-rule finish.

Parkin did muster an effort in stoppage-time that shaved the post, but it was a shell-shocked Preston who trooped off in misery at the break.

After a half-time rollicking from Irvine the visitors emerged with more fight and purpose.

And Chris Sedgwick briefly raised his side’s spirits with a turn and shot only to see the ball fly over the crossbar.

WATFORD 2

PRESTON 0

Helguson 9, Cleverley 33

================================================== =================

Watford 2-0 Preston match report: The Daily Mirror verdict
Published 23:00 08/11/09 By MirrorFootball

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/incoming/article215965.ece/ALTERNATES/gallery-large/91437424.jpg

Tom Cleverley has warned Manchester United wingers Antonio Valencia and Nani: I'm coming for you.

The 20-year-old from Old Trafford is enjoying a spectacularly successful loan spell with Watford - having scored six goals already from midfield.

Cleverley, who joins up with Stuart Pearce's England Under-21 squad this week, was the star of this show along with another borrowed gem in Arsenal's Henri Lansbury.

And although Cleverley would be delighted to stay on at Vicarage Road beyond January, he has not given up on winning over Sir Alex Ferguson.

He said: "I think I'm ready to play in the Premier League. I've been watching United's games and I don't think they've hit their best form yet this season.

"I've looked at the people in my position and thought 'Why not?'. I could step up. I think I'm ready.

"My best chance of getting in the United team would be on one of the wings, not yet in the starting XI that would be a bit ambitious.

"But in the squad or coming off the bench, left or right, and with my energy and goals, I could add something."

QPR want to keep Man Utd keeper Heaton
12.11.09 | tribalfootball.com

QPR boss Jim Magilton wants to hang onto on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

Heaton, whose loan deal expires on Saturday, has only made two Carling Cup appearances during his time with Rangers but Magilton has been thoroughly impressed by the 23-year-old and hopes to strike a deal with United.

"Tom has been outstanding for us from the day he walked into the club," he told the club's official website. "He's a first-class pro and sets the standards by which the others follow.

"We're quite hopeful that we will be able to do something in January and I'll be doing everything within my power to push it through."

Magilton added: "He's left an unbelievable impression with both myself, the staff and the players and we'd love to have him back here.

"If we can get him back in January, we'll have two of the best keepers in the division on our books and we'll have no hesitation in throwing him in."

Simpson: United Is My Club… But I’d Sign For Newcastle
-therepublikofmancunia.com-

http://therepublikofmancunia.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/dannysimpson.jpg

Danny Simpson left Manchester United under a bit of a cloud after mistakes in his personal life saw Sir Alex Ferguson ship him out to Blackburn Rovers. The move was supposed to be as a favour to Paul Ince but Danny struggled to get in the team and the move became a bit of a waste of time.

Simpson is enjoying himself a lot more at Newcastle though and reckons he would sign for them if he was asked in January or at the end of the season.

“I grew up in Salford and everyone’s a Man United fan – everyone at school and all my family,” said Simpson. “I support United – it’s my club – but I’ve come up to Newcastle, and there’s no difference. Everyone’s mad about Newcastle.”

Despite his feelings for United, Simpson has conceded that he would join Newcastle permanently for the sake of football, given how far down in the pecking order he would be at United.

“I’m enjoying my football here, and if I do well enough to get an offer, then I’ll consider it, as I’m enjoying my football at the moment,” he added. “I just want to get as many games under my belt as I can until January. It’s nice to be wanted, and it would be nice at the end of the loan spell for Chris and all the staff to say they want me to stay. Hopefully, my performances will warrant that. You want to play on a Saturday afternoon, and I’m no different. I’ve been in and around different clubs. I had a spell where I didn’t play and was on the bench (at loan club Blackurn Rovers), and I’ve had times when I was playing, and I know what I’d prefer. You want to train Monday to Friday, and play on a Saturday. That’s just me and the way I am.”

Man Utd to recall Possebon from Braga

Manchester United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon is expected to end his loan with Portugal's Braga in January.

A Bola says Possebon is likely to return to United when the winter market opens in the New Year.

The Brazilian has failed to establish himself as a regular starter at Braga, but United maintain faith in the youngster. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to bring Possebon back ahead of loaning him to a Championship club for the second-half of the season.

New boy Brandy impressing Gills
6 November 2009

Gillingham's new loan signing Febian Brandy is impressing his team mates, according to midfielder Mark Bentley.

The Manchester United striker won a penalty for the second game running in Saturday's 1-0 win over Oldham.

Bentley told BBC Radio Kent that teams are struggling to cope with his skill, saying: "His feet are frightening.

"One minute you think a defender is going to get it and then he knocks it past him. He saw a leg there and he fell over, which a lot of strikers do."

"He's really positive for us," added Bentley.

Manchester United's injury-hit Danny Drinkwater on sideline for Huddersfeld Town
Nov 19 2009 by Mel Booth, Huddersfield Daily Examiner

DANNY DRINKWATER will again miss out for Town at the weekend.

The Manchester United loan midfielder was sidelined by a thigh injury as Town thumped Wycombe Wanderers 6-0.

It was only the second League I fixture the 19-year-old Drinkwater has missed since joining the Galpharm squad in August.

But manager Lee Clark confirmed today Drinkwater will sit out Saturday’s Galpharm showdown with Hartlepool United, when Town are hunting a fifth successive victory.

“Danny wasn’t on the bench against Wycombe because of a thigh niggle and he won’t be available again this weekend,” said Clark.

“With an injury like this it’s not worth taking any risks. It’s a major muscle when it comes to kicking a football and, like we’ve done with Robbie Simpson, we’ll give Danny all the time he needs to recover fully.”

Heaton seeks United exit
-skysports.com-

http://img.skysports.com/09/02/218x298/Tom-Heaton_1880874.jpg

Skysports.com understands Tom Heaton is hoping to secure a permanent move away from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Heaton is currently at Rochdale after joining on an emergency loan until December following a successful three-month spell at Queens Park Rangers earlier this season.

The England Under 21 international has found his road to the United first team blocked and he is now prepared to move on to get his career back on track.

Queens Park Rangers have expressed their interest in bringing Heaton back to the club and the likes of Nottingham Forest and Norwich are also understood to be keeping tabs on Heaton's situation.

Heaton's advisor, Tony Coton, admits the 23-year-old is ready to find a new club in search of regular first-team action.

"Tom's contract is up in the summer and he will be leaving Manchester United," Coton told skysports.com.

"Tom is ready to move on as he wants to be playing regularly at this stage of his career.

"Ideally he would like to move on in January rather than waiting until the summer as he just wants to be playing.

"There are about half a dozen clubs interested in him and I am sure United would agree to letting him leave for a small fee if someone came in for him."

Manchester United talent Tom Cleverley agrees to stay with Watford for rest of season
7:30am Friday 20th November 2009

The progress Watford's talented crop of young players are making under Malky Mackay and his staff has been given another impressive endorsement after Manchester United agreed to extend Tom Cleverley's loan until the end of the season.

The Hornets boss, who had five players away on Under-21 duty with England and Northern Ireland during the international break, admitted he was "absolutely delighted" that Sir Alex Ferguson had given the green light for the Basingstoke-born midfielder to remain at Vicarage Road for the remainder of the campaign. The 20-year-old, who is Watford's joint top-scorer with a goal almost every two games this term, can also play in the FA Cup, unless the Hornets draw the Premiership giants.

"I had made the call to Sir Alex Ferguson and he was very interested in him staying here until the end of the season, he wanted him to stay with us, which is great news as far as I'm concerned," explained Mackay.

"Then I spoke to Tom and his representative and we made sure that it was something his family wanted as well, and Tom, his family and his agent felt this was the correct environment for him to kick on as far as his career's concerned.

"Since he's been here he has become an Under-21 international and it now looks as if he's starting internationals for England, he's also scoring goals at Championship level and he's got his own targets for the end of the season that myself and him have sat down and spoken about.

"He's now settled in the knowledge that he's at a club where he can be happy with his football, concentrate totally on his own football and his progression for the bigger picture as far as his career's concerned and going back to Manchester United in the summer."

Asked if he was concerned Ferguson would not agree to extending the loan, the Watford boss admitted: "You never know with players and you never know with clubs and how they change. All it takes is an injury, you don't know.

"I look at it like the situation that was here two years ago when Adam Johnson came here and made a big impact on our club and we were hoping to retain him, but at the time Middlesbrough decided he had to go back and Adam went back and sat on the bench for the next six months and never moved off it.

"Was that the best thing for Adam Johnson's progression as a young player? At the time maybe not, but at the same time was he required to be part of their staff to go straight on the pitch at any minute? Probably.

"So clubs have got to look out for themselves, but I'm just delighted that Sir Alex has felt for Tom's career progression he needed to back playing every week with us."

Mackay also confirmed there were no unexpected financial consequences for the Hornets as a result of extending Cleverley's loan.

He said: "There was an agreement that if he was to stay for the season there would be a financial commitment there, so it was nothing that we didn't know that was going to have to be involved.

"And you weigh that up with the impact of the player and does Tom add to our squad? Yes he does, so I'm absolutely delighted to get a top young talent who wants to stay and wants to be part of our squad and his club have given us the trust again for another six months that they want him to be part of our squad and for us to give him growth as a player."

‘The Boy Has Got Skills’ – Man United’s Adem Ljajic
-footballfancast.com-

http://www.footballfancast.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/883-253x300.jpg

In January 2009 Manchester United announced the signing of Adem Ljajic along with Zoran Tosic from Partizan Belgrade. The 17 year old Ljajic had been looked at by a host of European clubs with Partizan turning down offers from Inter Milan and Spartak Moscow before accepting United’s bid.

Although Tosic was transferred immediately Ljajic remained in Serbia due to age restrictions as well as to aid his development but who was this 17 year old that was so highly regarded by Europe’s elite?

Ljajic, now 18, joined Partizan Belgrade after impressing in a youth tournament in 2003. He starred in the youth ranks especially during international tournaments. At a competition in Spain he performed so well that Real Madrid began to watch him and Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’ sought him out and interviewed him.

He began training with the first team in the summer of 2008 impressing his older team mates with not only his ability but his attitude as he worked hard and was always willing to learn. He made his first team debut in a Champions League qualifier against Inter Baku in July as a second half sub. He would then score his first goal in Partizan’s derby game with OFK Beograd. Ljajic was significantly handed the number 22 shirt a huge honour considering the last player to wear it was Partizan legend Sasa Ilic who vacated the shirt in 2004 when he join Celta Vigo on loan then Galatasary permanently.

In the 2008-2009 season he made 24 league appearances and scored five times as Partizan picked up the Serbian league title. This season his starts at the club have been limited but Partizan manager, Slavisa Jokanovic has been dedicated to helping him develop, bringing him on late in games in order for him to gain vital experience and he in his 11 games he has found the net 3 times.

As well as carving out a club career Ljajic has been impressing on the international stage playing for both Serbia’s U17 & U19 teams. On September 7th 2008 he made his debut for the U21 team and now has 7 appearances at that level and 1 goal, a header against Sweden.

His performances have lead to him being labelled ‘Little Kaka’ due to similarities in skill and ability as his Brazilian counterpart. Like his adopted namesake Ljajic can play in almost any attacking position but excels at right wing where his pace and penchant for beating players comes in hand. He has excellent dribbling, able to dance through defences at will, as well as excellent vision to spot team mates with precise passing. At just 18 Ljajic is already a cultured player and has the invaluable talent of being able create time and space whilst on the ball as well as superb close control.

By his own admission at 6ft Ljajic’s heading could be better and he needs to work on the defensive side of his game but at just 18 he has plenty of time.

As Ljajic rounds up the first chapter of his career he will look at it as a success, winning the league in his first season as an established Partizan player and now as he prepares to join Manchester United in January he will make the step up to the next level, but judging by his ability this should not pose a problem.

Fabien Brandy to miss up to four weeks at Gillingham

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/46740000/jpg/_46740405_46669731.jpg

On-loan Gillingham striker Febian Brandy has returned to parent club Manchester United for treatment on a thigh injury.

The 20-year-old sustained the problem after coming on as a substitute in last week's 3-1 defeat at Leyton Orient.

Gills boss Mark Stimson said: "He's a very important player and we're hoping he'll be back in two to four weeks.

"He's a Manchester boy who lives around the corner from the training ground so it makes sense he has treatment there."

Gills players were asked to make their own way to the game rather than the squad travelling together on a team coach.

And traffic problems around Brisbane Road meant that Stimson had to start with the first 11 players that arrived.

Stimpson believes Brandy's injury was caused by him not having time to prepare for playing duty properly.

"Much has been made of health and safety issues at the game which must apply to the players as well because Febian didn't have enough time to warm up properly," he added.

Gills keen to extend Brandy loan

Striker Febian Brandy
Brandy has been unlucky with injuries during his loan spell at Priestfield

Gillingham have asked Manchester United if they can extend the loan deal of striker Febian Brandy until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old could return from injury for Saturday's game at Swindon, which would be the last match of his current spell.

"We're trying to talk to Manchester United about retaining him," Gills boss Mark Stimson told BBC Radio Kent.

"Hopefully in the next 48 hours we'll hear something so fingers crossed."

Brandy has impressed since his arrival at Priestfield in early November, scoring twice.

He sustained a thigh injury in December which forced him to return to his parent club for treatment, but Stimson admits that if the opportunity arose he would like to make Brandy a permanent member of his squad.

"He could come permanently if they're willing to let him go or if there was a fee and we could afford it, but we'll ask about the loan situation first," said Stimson.

Man Utd boss Ferguson included Cleverley in Arsenal warm-up
03.02.10 | tribalfootball.com

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hasn't forgotten winger Tom Cleverley.

On-loan at Watford, Cleverley was invited by Fergie to travel with the Red Devils to Sunday's 3-1 win at Arsenal.

And it clearly inspired him as he helped Watford put Sheffield United to the sword.

Hornets boss Malky Mackay said: "It was a great thing for Alex to do. He went down to the Emirates and spent five or 10 minutes with them before kick-off.

"And that touch of class clearly rubbed off."

Cleverley displayed courage as he risked a clattering by Sheffield United stopper Mark Bunn to bravely nod the Hornets' first six minutes before the break.

Mackay added: "Tom knew he was going to get absolutely smashed by their keeper but he still went to head it."

Tom Cleverley warmed up for Watford's 3-0 win over Sheffield United last night by watching parent club Manchester United humiliate Arsenal.

The Hornets' on-loan midfielder was invited to join the rest of the United squad as Sir Alex Ferguson's side cruised to a 3-1 victory at the Emirates.

Cleverley opened the scoring last night as Watford ran out easy winners with Heidar Helguson and Don Cowie also getting on the scoresheet.

Watford boss Malky Macky said: “Tom was with the United manager at the weekend and went to the Emirates to experience what it would be like. He had five minutes with Sir Alex who gave him targets for the season.”

“We have signed him now and he is available to play for us at the weekend [against Bradford],” said Bury boss Alan Knill skysports.com.

“He will firstly bring us more competition for places, which I feel we have been lacking in recent weeks.

“However, he is also a really good footballer that can play in a variety of attacking positions, in the centre or on the left or right as well as just behind the strikers, so he will give us a lot more options in terms of team shape.”

Manchester United starlet James set for Preston loan move

http://rsc.imscouting.com/global-news-article/Manchester-United-starlet-James-set-for-Preston-loan-move/5563/?w=140

Sir Alex Ferguson will loan another youngster to son Darren at Preston North End .

Midfielder Matt James will follow striker Danny Welbeck to Deepdale with Sir Alex keen to give them both first team opportunities. 18 year-old James is a versatile player, capable of also filling in at the back.

“He’s primarily a midfielder but he can also play in defence if we need him to,” explains his former Under-18s boss at Manchester United , Paul McGuinness.

James signed his first professional contract at Manchester United in July 2009 and has also played for the England under-20 side.

He was a guest at Preston's home defeat against Barnsley and is now set to continue his development in a spell away from Old Trafford.

Young Reds midfielder Matty James will join Preston North End until the end of the season when the emergency loan window opens on Tuesday.

The England U20 international joins fellow Red Danny Welbeck on loan at Deepdale.

Reserves midfielder James, 18, was included on the bench for United's Champions League clash with Wolfsburg in December.

PNE boss Darren Ferguson is pleased with the capture, telling pnefc.net: "He's a good passer, he's got plenty of energy, he's a good size for a young lad, he'll come into it tomorrow and we are looking forward to working with him. It's an area which I said we have needed to strengthen, so I am pleased to get him on board, he's a good one for us.

"There's a connection with Danny Welbeck, they have played together a lot and that will help," added Ferguson Jnr.

It's not the only Preston connection for James, whose young brother Reece is also at Deepdale with their U16s.

Watford missed the midfield invention of injured top scorer Tom Cleverley

Barnsley 1, Watford 0

WATFORD missed the midfield invention of injured top scorer Tom Cleverley, and a run of just one victory in nine games has badly dented their play-off hopes.

Henri Lansbury had strong penalty claims ignored when he was sent sprawling by Carl Dickinson, and substitute Danny Graham’s late header was harshly ruled out for pushing. Manager Malky Mackay said: “We deserved something from the game but the two major decisions have gone against us.”

Emil Hallfredsson scored Barnsley’s 55th-minute winner when he beat Scott Loach at his near post.barnsley 1 watford 0

Preston 2 Sheffield United 1: Manchester United loanee Matt James makes his mark at Deepdale

Matt James, the second teenager sent out on loan from Manchester United by Sir Alex Ferguson to Preston, managed by son Darren, soon made his mark at Deepdale to send his new side on their way to victory.

Midfielder James struck the opener after 10 minutes with a low shot that went in off Nyron Nosworthy.

Jon Parkin, who had earlier volleyed against a post, made it 2-0 after 71 minutes from the rebound when Ian Bennett saved his penalty, awarded for a foul by Nosworthy on Danny Welbeck, the first of those recruits from United.

Mark Yeates, who had an angled shot turned on to a post by Andy Lonergan just seconds into the second half, replied from close range for the visitors after 81 minutes.

Posh boss receives favour from dad to sign United keeper

Boss Darren Ferguson has received a favour from his famous dad after signing Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Amos on a month's loan.
Ferguson has raided his father's club and the Premier League champions and signed 19-year-old Amos with first-choice goalkeeper Joe Lewis suspended for this weekend's clash against Barnsley.

The teenager has made one appearance for Sir Alex's side - in a Carling Cup win over Middlesbrough in 2008 - and the Posh manager confirmed he will go straight into the squad for Saturday.

Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's a big game for him and he knows that. He'll be fine though.

"He comes well recommended. My father [Sir Alex] thinks very highly of him."

In Betfair you can either make a back bet (bet on who's going to win) or place a lay bet (bet against something happening). Betfair matches people on either side of the bet with the odds they agree. Simple. Use this £25 free bet and give it a try.

Manchester United's reserve keeper Ben Amos (19) can be hired until the summer.

Amos comes after the Romsdals Budstikke experience to Oslo today to join the MFK-strap. He will train with Molde in Telenor Arena Saturday night. The England goalkeeper will also be relevant for the game from the start of the training match the same place on Sunday afternoon. Likely to discuss the clubs a lease until summer.

Molde has followed the talented youngster over time. Kjell Jonevret and Erling Moe as United's reserve team in both training and match when they visited Manchester before Christmas. Amos also played well in training match between the United reserves and Stabæk in Telenor Arena 30 January. Then set MFKs goalkeeping coach Per Magne Misund in the stands.

Ben Amos was only 11 years old when he came to Manchester United from Crewe Alexandra. He debuted for the first team in a League Cup match against Middlesbrough in September 2008. Last year he was hired out to Championship club Peterborough. Goalkeeper has four age specific caps for England.

Ben Amos has played a variety of games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reserve in United, along with, among others Magnus Eikrem and Mame Biram Diouf.

Translatenya :
Manchester United player to Molde FK
New keeper to MFK.

Manchester United keeper Ben Amos leased from Manchester United to Molde FC until the summer.

"All papers are in order, but that's because those offices were not open yesterday afternoon," says CEO. Tarja Nordstrand Jacobsen to moldefk.no. "Ben Amos is 19 years old and playing on the reserve team as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coach".

MFK has supplied three players in the opposite direction, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Mame Biram Diouf went from Stockholm to Manchester United. This may indicate a strong relation to the big club?
"There are fantastic that the club has been such a good relationship with a big club like United. That we can achieve a win-win situation, also sports is amazing," says Jacobsen.

"Because of injuries we've been looking for a new keeper who can compete with our two healthy keepers. And this is a keeper that United want to bet on. They want him to get the matching at a good level, and United appears that the level of MFK is good NOK think we are nice, "concludes Jacobsen on the phone from the team assembly.

Coach Kjell Jonevret are very pleased with the agreement: "Keeper situation is not very good since Knut (Dørum Lillebakk) are still injured and not going to be ready for series of games for a while yet. We have searched for a third goalkeeper to complement those we already, but we have not found what we've been looking and the ball has been dead for a while. We wanted to tie us to a goalie who were either young or a class goalkeeper, "says Jonevret on the way to Oslo. "When this opportunity arose it was great. We have seen him both in training and in combat, and it is an interesting type, but United have not wanted to release him because they are now going out in e-cupspill and wanted to have coverage on the goalkeeper position . But now when the Rune (Ertsås) occurred, so there was a possibility ".

He did not dismiss the keep clean which is already in the stable. "We still have faith in Jan Kjell (Larsen) and Elias (Valderhaug), but it has perhaps gone a little slower than we had hoped for. Now, these little time to evolve and we see ann situation this summer," emphasizes Jonevret. "This feels good and that the boy wants to come to us is also good. He plays for England's U20 national team and is a skilled player. This is exciting"

When we see him in MFK-suit?
"He's the fight in the morning and participate in training in Telenor Arena tonight," concludes Kjell Jonevret.

The team is now on his way to Oslo to meet Stabæk in tomorrow's rehearsal before the series start.

Amos menjadi starter untuk Molde ketika pertandingan persahabatan melawan Stabæk yang berakhir dengan score 2-1 untuk kemenangan Stabæk.

Laporan dari Redcafe...

Amos had a decent game, but Molde lost 2-1. He was not to blame for any of the goals. Other than one situation, he looked in control and had a couple of good saves. Wasn't really tested that much.

Niatnya nyari berita baek apakah Welbeck ngegolin lagi, eh malah dapet berita nggak enak...

Preston suffer Danny Welbeck Manchester United blow
bbc.co.uk
Preston on-loan striker Danny Welbeck could return to parent club Manchester United after breaking down in training on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old, who missed North End's last three matches, suffered a reaction to a knee injury during a session at United's training ground.

"His knee swelled up after training," Ferguson told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"He'll have another scan on Monday but it's not looking good. It's a blow but we'll have to get on with it."

Welbeck became Darren Ferguson's first signing after taking over at Deepdale in January.

The England under-21 international, who had previously scored five goals for United, made his debut against Ferguson's former club Peterborough later that month.

He went on to score twice in three games, including a late winner against Ipswich on his home debut four days later.

But the Manchester-born forward has been sidelined since injuring his knee during the 3-0 defeat by Newcastle on 20 February.

"It's a blow for the lad because he was really enjoying it here," said Ferguson.

"He was at the game on Tuesday and the lads were pleased to see him. He was looking bubbly and raring to come back.

"I got the phone call off the physio and knew by his tone of voice it wasn't good news.

"Hopefully if the scan shows on Monday that there's no operation needed then there's a possibility he will come back. But I'm not overly optimistic about it."

CLEVERLEY BACKS VOCAL SUPPORT
Thu 11 Mar 2010 - watfordfc.com

http://www.watfordfc.com/javaImages/c6/be/0,,10400~8175302,00.jpg

TOM Cleverley is available again for the Hornets this Saturday (13 March) and he has spoken about the influence a loud crowd can have for Watford over the next two games at Vicarage Road.

The Golden Boys host bottom-of-the-table Peterborough this weekend and with a full house expected at Vicarage Road, a vocal crowd can help push the 'Orns on against Posh.

Speaking today, Cleverley said: "The crowd influence is massive.

"When The Rookery cheers all of the boys, I think we're a much better team for it, so definitely I like it when the crowd is loud and backing the boys - I'm sure the team will second that."

The England Under-21 star has been out of the spotlight for the last three games after seeing red at Scunthorpe United last month - but the midfielder is itching to get going again.

"I'm not a very good watcher" added the former Leicester City loanee.

"So I've been itching to get out there on the pitch and hopefully if I'm picked on Saturday I can take it out on Peterborough.

http://www.watfordfc.com/javaImages/2a/db/0,,10400~8051498,00.jpg

"I think most footballers are like that, they don't like watching and they'd just much rather be out there playing."

Despite not picking up maximum points over the last few matches, the Manchester United loanee is confident the Hornets have the talent and confidence to push on throughout the business end of the season.

"I think everyone at the Club knows how big the next two games are" commented Cleverley.

"I think we haven't been playing too poorly, the Derby match was a disappointment, but against Newcastle and Swansea we deserved something out of both of those games.

"If we just carry on with the good performances into the next two home games, we're more than capable of winning both games."

The Golden Boys will be looking for three points after Posh overcame Malky Mackay's side at London Road back on a freezing day in December.

http://www.watfordfc.com/javaImages/7c/4/0,,10400~8389756,00.jpg

"I remember that game - it wasn't particularly a nice experience but I think it was a game we deserved something out of.

"Obviously we've got to take our chances so myself and the other forward players have the chance to change that.

"We've just got to do the job ourselves on Saturday.

"I've had a few days off over the weekend so I'm 100 per cent fit and raring to go."

Sedikit Info...

CLEVERLEY TO MISS RUN-IN
Thu 08 Apr 2010

WATFORD boss Malky Mackay has today (Thursday) revealed that influential midfielder Tom Cleverley will play no further part in proceedings this season.

The England Under-21 star was stretchered from the pitch during the second half of Watford's draw with promotion-chasing West Brom at Vicarage Road on Monday.

The extent of Cleverley's injury has been assessed since and today Malky confirmed he will not pull on a Watford shirt in the remaining Championship games.

Malky said: "Tom Cleverley has knee ligament damage and his season is sadly finished."

The lateral ligament injury means the Golden Boys will be without the services of the Manchester United loanee in the remaining five league games - starting with Saturday's home game with Plymouth Argyle.

Since joining the Club in August, Cleverley has made 35 starts, netting 11 goals to make him the Hornets' top scorer.

"It is a terrible shame for both Tom and the Club" added the Watford boss.

"Since arriving he has been fantastic for us in every way, not just in games but also with his all-round attitude and application to the way he goes about his work.

"It is never nice seeing someone stretchered from the field, but I am sure he will come back hungry to make an impact and to get back to his football.

"Having worked with Tom for a number of months I am sure he will go on to have a top-level career.

"His impact since being at the Club has been there for all to see.

"No doubt Tom has learnt plenty with us over the last few months and I'm sure he will draw on those experiences as he goes on to establish himself in the game.

"We are grateful to Tom, his family and to Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United for trusting us with one of their young talents.

"It goes without saying that everyone here wishes him a speedy recovery."

Elsewhere, the Golden Boys will also be without the services of Jon Harley and Henri Lansbury this weekend, due to suspensions.

Will Buckley and Lloyd Doyley also came off injured against The Baggies. The manager today explained the pair have hamstring injuries and their fitness will be assessed nearer to kick-off on Saturday.

Defender Martin Taylor and striker Heidar Helguson were ruled out of Monday's clash with knocks and the duo remain a doubt going into Saturday's game with The Pilgrims.

Dua Gol Zoran Tosic Benamkan Bochum

Lagi-lagi Tosic merobek gawang Bochum setelah menyambung umpan terobosan.

Setelah gol tersebut, Koeln semakin menguasai pertandingan. Namun, Bochum selalu berhasil menjaga gawangnya dari ancaman tuan rumah. Skor 2-0 menutup jalannya laga.

Preston want Man Utd loanee to return next season
22.04.10 | Ian Ferris - tribalfootball.com

Preston boss Darren Ferguson is looking to extend midfielder Matthew James' loan deal for next season.

The 18-year-old moved to Deepdale from Manchester United in February on loan until the end of the season and has put in some excellent displays, scoring twice in 15 starts.

Ferguson told the club's official website: "I have to take the three of them into the equation with the budget and I think I have said before that I am looking to extend Matty's loan for another year and I think that will get done.

"We still have two games left and I have already had one meeting with the board, but we'll probably have to have one or two more to decide exactly were we are going to go and that will make my mind up on them."

02/07/2010 09:59, Report by Nick Coppack

Young Reds midfielder Matty James will spend the entire 2010/11 season on loan at Preston North End.

The England Under-19 international is already a terrace favourite at Deepdale, having impressed during a shorter loan spell last term. James scored on his Preston debut in February before going on to make 18 appearances for the Lilywhites, who are managed by Darren Ferguson.

In other news, the club have rewarded Academy scholars Conor Devlin (goalkeeper) and John Cofie (forward) with professional contracts and signed 18-year-old Belgian defender Marnick Vermijl (previously with Standard Liege as an amateur player).

Senegalese striker Diouf has completed a season-long agreement to join Sam Allardyce's Blackburn Rovers, while Norwegian youngster King has signed up with Preston North End until mid-November.

King joins up with fellow United loanee Matty James, who is spending the entirety of 2010/11 at Deepdale, and the pair could both feature for Darren Ferguson's side today against Doncaster in the Championship.

Diouf could also go straight into action for his new side, in Blackburn's pre-season friendlies against Hearts today and Celtic on Sunday.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has also confirmed that he is aiming to take another United striker, Danny Welbeck, on loan for the entire season.

Musim baru tlah dimulai buat beberapa pemaen united yang dipinjamkan. Dah waktunya dipantau lagi pertandingan2nya.

Terutama matty james. Moga makin matang dan musim depan ngikutin jejak cleverley nembus tim utama.

Stockport 0 - 5 Preston
Carling Cup First Round
10th Aug 2010

Matt James mencetak gol ke 2 Preston serta berkontribusi untuk penalty ke 2 Preston (Gol ke 3 Preston)

Preston's on-loan midfielder Matty James made it 2-0 after 58 minutes when he volleyed home a neat individual goal

PENALTY: Matty james has won another penalty for the Whites.
Paul Hayes steps up and sends the goalkeeper the wrong way tucking it into the far right corner!
Stockport 0 Preston 3 - Apparently Davidson doesn't like taking two in one game!

Gak kalah Impresif, Joshua King memberikan kontribusi dengan 1 assist dan 1 Goal (gol ke 5 Preston)

Hayes then doubled his tally in the 73rd minute with a close-range finish after superb work down the right from substitute Josh King.

Teenager King helped himself to the fifth goal courtesy of a cool finish a minute from time.

Pertandingan ini juga disaksikan oleh SAF

With Sir Alex Ferguson present, young King made an immediate impact for PNE. His dazzling run down the right left Andy Halls for dead, and once in the box he had the composure to square for Hayes, who grabbed his second of the match with a tap in on 75 minutes, making it 4-0 to the Lilywhites.

Danny Drinkwater
Danny played the full 90 minutes as Cardiff drew 1-1 in the only Championship draw of the first day of the season.

looked good today, will be a season long loan player that can actually play, composed, nice touches, tidy passes, some decent little runs, high hopes for the boy thumbup

He has potential, hopefully he gets a bit more confident as he had quite a few opportunities to have a shot today but opted to pass out wide instead.

I was impressed by him today, can see that he will come on well throughout the season. People having a go at him need to get a grip as well, I don't know what they were expecting.

Pertandingan pertama Cardiff di carling cup berlangsung nanti.....
==========================
James Chester
He played in Carlisle's 2-0 win over Brentford, playing the full 90 minutes.

United started brightly and they were unlucky not to take the lead on 4 minutes when James Chester stayed deep for a corner delivery. He got a strong header to it and Moore was beaten as the ball looped over his head and bounced off the top of the bar.

Chester: 8 - Had the two Brentford strikers in his back pocket, made some good challenges.

Sayangnya di pertandingan First Round Carling, Carlisle dan Chester harus tersingkir

Carlisle United 0-1 Huddersfield

A very tight contest so far, with both teams not looking to give much away. Plenty of good football on display though, with Frank Simek at right-back probably the stand out performer for United so far. Visitors Huddersfield look a threat every time they go forward, but Harte and Chester have marshalled Garner and Rhodes pretty well so far. Should be an intriuging second half!

89 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 0 Huddersfield Town 1 - Sucker punch for United, as Novak gets in behind the defence and plays it to Rhodes, who calmly slots it past Collin.

Welbeck set for Black Cats
United striker undergoing medical ahead of loan move
Last updated: 12th August 2010

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is undergoing a medical at Sunderland ahead of finalising a season-long loan deal.

The Red Devils youngster emerged as a transfer target for Black Cats boss Steve Bruce earlier this summer and it appears a deal is close to being completed.

Bruce was looking to bolster his attacking options even before the £8million sale of striker Kenwyne Jones to Premier League rivals Stoke on Saturday.

Welbeck will now provide additional competition up front alongside last season's leading scorer Darren Bent and Fraizer Campbell.

Limited

The 19-year-old has made just two Premier League starts during his Old Trafford career but is regarded as a talented prospect.

He spent the second half of last season on loan with Championship club Preston, scoring two goals from his eight appearances.

With Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov,Michael Owen, Federico Macheda and new signing Javier Hernandez all ahead of him in the pecking order, Welbeck's opportunities in the North West appeared limited.

He has now elected to join former Old Trafford favourite Bruce at the Stadium of Light with his loan switch expected to be finalised in the next 48 hours.

klo aku pribadi ngenilai dia potensial gung.

Posisinya sbg Holding Midfielder .

But , I hope my prediction is wrong :)

A round-up of how the loanees fared on the weekend of Aug 14th
-redforcerising.net-

Drinkwater, James & Chester – full 90 minutes
Stewart started & played 75 minutes
King second half substitute for Chris Brown at half-time
Diouf second half sub on 70 minutes
Welbeck second half sub on 83 minutes

Sunderland 2-2 Birmingham City

http://i35.tinypic.com/33m4k8x.jpg

Sunderland squandered a 2-0 lead in a 2-2 draw with Birminham City. Darren Bent gave the black cats a seemingly comfortable lead by converting two penalties, but allowed Birmingham to get back into the game with Scott Dann and Liam Ridgewell getting the goal for Brum. Danny Welbeck came on as an 83rd minute sub to replace Darren Bent, but was unable to impose himself in the short period of time left.

Swansea 4 – 0 Preston
Matty James played a full 90 minutes for Preston North End who were on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing by Swansea. Preston trailed the Swans 2-0 at half time through goals by Stephen Dobbie and Darren pratley and decided to bring on Joshua King as a substitute for Chris Brown, but he was unable to help his side’s cause as Preston conceded a further two goals from Nathan Dyer and David Cotterill.

Bristol Rovers 2 – 1 Yeovil Town
Cameron Stewart was in the starting line-up for Yeovil Town in their League 1 match against Bristol Rovers. Jo Kuffour opened the scoring for Bristol shortly before half-time. Stewart came off on 75 minutes and was replaced by Rob Kiernan. Yeovil thought they had managed to secure a draw when Adam Virgo turned in an Andrew Williams corner on 88 minutes, but their slack marking on set-pieces was punished in the last minute of the game when Byron Anthony scored from a Wayne Brown in-swinging corner.

Derby County 1 – 0
Daniel Drinkwater got a full 90 minutes under his belt as Cardiff ran out 1-2 winners over Derby.
Tomasz Cywka equalized for Derby on 25 minutes after Michael Chopra gave Cardiff the lead ten minutes earlier.
Derby got the winner through Chris Burke in the 77th minute.

Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Carlisle United
James Chester played the full 90 minutes as Plymouth Argyle and Carlisle United played out a score draw.
Rory Patterson scoring in injury time to break Carlisle hearts after an Ian Harte (remember him?) header gave them the lead in 68minute.

Blackburn Rovers 1 – 0 Everton
Blackburn began the Premier League campaign with a win over Everton. Niko Kalinic securing the victory in the 13th minute.
Reports from Rovers fans indicate Mame Biram Diouf was a handful for the opposing defenders with his pace, as well as runs and was unfortunate to be let down by his team mates who didn’t find him when he was clean through on goal.

Loan Watch – King crowned Man of the Match
-redforcerising.net-

Joshua King and Matty James continue to impress at Preston

http://i38.tinypic.com/dwyrlv.jpg

Preston North End 1 – 0 Portsmouth
Joshua King was named man of the match in his first start for Preston against Portsmouth, while Matty James completed another impressive 90 minutes in midfield. Darren Ferguson’s side, for whom Matty James turned in another impressive 90 minutes in midfield, bagged a first league win of the season through Paul Hayes’ strike. Both King and James came close to adding to the scoreline, but the United duo were repeatedly thwarted by Pompey goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown.

Cardiff City 4 – 0 Doncasters Rovers
Danny Drinkwater completed another impressive, tough-tackling 90 minutes for Cardiff City, but it was another Manchester loanee – City’s Craig Bellamy – who stole the show for the Bluebirds, scoring one goal and making another for Dave Jones’ side in a convincing 4-0 win over Doncaster.

Carlisle United 4 – 1 Milton Keynes Dons
James Chester’s Carlisle United sit top of League One with seven points from three games, after a 4-1 thrashing of MK Dons. The on-loan United youngster again looked imperious in the centre of the Carlisle defence, applying his usual no-nonsense approach and restricting the visitors to few chances.

West Bromwich Albion 1 – 0 Sunderland
Danny Welbeck was offered a second-half cameo for Sunderland, and his introduction coincided with the Black Cats’ best football at the Hawthorns. Another late concession proved costly, however, as Baggies new boy Peter Odemwingie struck to pinch the points for the hosts.

Birmingham City 2 – 1 Blackburn Rovers
Mame Biram Diouf entered the fray as a late substitute for Blackburn at Birmingham. The Senegalese striker was given little time to shine as Rovers, who had led, chased a route back into the game after Craig Gardner’s double for Brum.

Cameron Stewart missed Yeovil Town’s 0-2 home defeat to Hartlepool United with a thigh injury.

Wih...king mulai dapet peran di tim utama PNE. bagus lah... klo moga sesukses Cleverley musim lalu , juga buat pemaen yang laen. Klo komposisi penyerang tidak berubah bisa2 2-3 musim lagi penyerang United diisi penyerang muda berbakat seperti macheda, welbeck dan king plus tambahan penyerang yang mulai masuk masa2 emas seperti rooney, chicharito dan diouf (khusus diouf aku kok nggak yakin pengabdiannya di United bakalan lama :peace:). Klo liat komposisi itu kok rasanya posisi United tanggung ya... mo beli penyerang baru eh skuad masa depannya sangat menjanjikan, mo nggak beli penyerang baru tapi skuad masa depannya masih jangka panjang.

Loans: Diouf strikes

United's seven young loanees enjoyed mixed weekends with their temporary clubs, as two won, two drew and three tasted defeat...

Mame Biram Diouf followed on from his Carling Cup hat-trick against Norwich City with a strike against Arsenal. The Senegalese striker's tap-in hauled Blackburn level at Ewood Park after Theo Walcott's opener, but Andrei Arshavin hit a second-half winner for the Gunners.

Sunderland's dramatic victory over Manchester City, although sealed by Darren Bent's late penalty, was inspired in no small part by the introduction of Danny Welbeck. Having replaced former United colleague Fraizer Campbell at half-time, the 19-year-old galvanized the Black Cats' attack, playing a major role in a key victory for Steve Bruce's men.

Matty James and Joshua King both completed 90 minutes for Preston North End at Sheffield United, but the Lilywhites were on the wrong end of a 1-0 defeat as Gary Speed notched his first win as Blades manager. Preston were more than a match for their hosts, with King particularly lively upfront, but a scorching drive from Jean Calve sent Darren Ferguson's side away empty-handed.

Danny Drinkwater continued his fine form in the centre of Cardiff City's midfield as the Bluebirds notched a 2-0 victory at Portsmouth. The 20-year-old played a key role in Cardiff's opener, starting a move which culminated in Hayden Mullins' own-goal. Jay Bothroyd capped the victory with the second goal shortly after half-time.

James Chester's Carlisle United surrendered top spot in League One, but nevertheless were thankful for a last-gasp equaliser at Colchester. The United youngster was again calm and collected in the centre of defence, as Paul Thirwell grabbed a stoppage-time point for Carlisle.

Cameron Stewart was a second half substitute for Yeovil Town at Oldham but, despite some neat touches and trickery in his 22-minute cameo, the winger couldn't prevent a largely uneventful 0-0 draw at Boundary Park.

Cleverley agrees Latics loan

United midfielder Tom Cleverley will spend the remainder of the 2010/11 season on loan at Wigan Athletic.

The England under-21 international has impressed in loan spells with Leicester City and Watford in the last two seasons, and will aim to gain Premier League experience with Roberto Martinez's side this term.

After toying with the idea of retaining Cleverley as a member of United's first team squad, Sir Alex Ferguson decided that a move to the DW Stadium would most hasten the promising youngster's football education.

Latics manager Martinez told Wigan's official club website: “Tom is a very exciting young player and we are delighted he his coming to us. He can play in a number of positions and will provide us with some good new options, and add great competition to the squad.

"We have been watching him for some time and feel he is the right sort of player to join our squad; young, hungry, desperate to play for the club in the Premier League and to grow with us."

Cleverley is currently on England under-21 international duty, but will join up with his new team-mates later this week and could make his Latics debut against Sunderland - and fellow United loanee Danny Welbeck - on Saturday, 11 September

Roberto Martinez menyambut bahagia kehadiran dua pemain berusia 21 tahun.

Manchester United youngster uncertain over Preston North End future

http://images.clicklancashire.com/admin/article/articleimages/1283783210-Josh_King.jpg

Manchester United teenager Josh King is unsure what will happen once his three-month loan spell at Preston North End ends.

The striker has made six appearances for Darren Ferguson's side since joining in August.

The 18-year-old was not expecting to be sent out on loan and fears it may signal the end of his time at Old Trafford.

"I didn't think I'd be going out on loan this early, I thought maybe it might happen after Christmas," King told the Lancashire Evening Post.

"When the boss at United told me Preston wanted to take me on loan, it was a bit of a surprise. But I'm glad I came here, I'm enjoying it.

"I'm on a three-month youth loan as it stands, I don't know what is going to happen after that.

"United are monitoring me here, I still go back there sometimes to do a bit of extra finishing work with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who coaches the reserves."

Menurutku king diperpanjang aja masa peminjamannya.

Loan Watch: Cleverley impresses, but King and James injured
-redforcerising.net-

http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/javaImages/ce/ed/0,,10429~9039310,00.jpg

Cleverley does well, but King and James injured

Man City 1-1 Blackburn Rovers
Mame Biram Diouf received his second league start for Blackburn Rovers and helped his side record a deserved draw against the World’s Richest Club. Blackburn took the lead through Nikola Kalinic on 24 minutes, but City equalized through Patrick Vieira.
Diouf played the full 90 minutes.

Wigan Athletic 1-1 Sunderland
Tom Cleverley took to the field of play on 73 minutes and made an immediate impact for Wigan, helping his side grab an equalizer against Sunderland, who had been leading 0-1 through new signing Asamoah Gyan.
Cleverley’s shot was saved by Sunderland keeper Simon Mignolet, but the ball fell kindly to Wigan defender Antolin Alcaraz to head home the equalizer. The assist for the goal was awarded to Cleverley.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez was satisfied with the impact his substitutes had on the game, saying:

“It was very important and exactly what you need from a player that comes off the bench,” Martinez said.

“We were looking at Franco for the first time, playing with his new team-mates, Tom Cleverley, who had a real good arrogance and understanding of the game straight away, and Charles N’Zogbia, who looked as committed as he has always been and someone who really creates problems for the opposition.”

Burnley 4-3 Preston North End
A feisty match at Turf Moor saw Burnley run out 4:3 winners over Preston, but with serious consequences for both Man Utd players on loan. Joshua King and Matty James sustained ankle injuries with the former having to be substituted on 27 minutes and James on 53. Match official Kevin Friend was the focus of furious criticism from Preston manager Darren Ferguson for awarding defender Billy Jones a second yellow card for time-wasting, but was extremely lenient with Burnley who had committed some shocking fouls.

It was at first feared that both King and James had suffered broken ankles, but it now appears that King’s injury might not be a break. Matty James ‘heard a crack’, however and it is thought that he might be out of action for a while.

This is very unfortunate news, as both King and James had both been impressive for Preston and had been getting a lot of playing time. I hope they both make full recoveries soon and that their injuries will not have long-lasting effects.

Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Carlisle United
James Chester plays full 90 minutes. Craig Carlisle scored winner on 35minutes.

Yeovil Town 3-1 Tranmere Rovers
Cameron Stewart did not feature in Yeovil’s 3-1 victory over Tranmere.

Cardiff City 2-0 Hull City
Danny Drinkwater did not feature in Cardiff’s 2-0 victory over Hull.

Injured Drinkwater Returns To Manchester Utd

Cardiff City's on-loan midfielder Danny Drinkwater has returned to parent club Manchester United - who want an assessment of the promising youngster's ankle injury by the Old Trafford medical team.

Drinkwater is on a season-long loan with the Bluebirds and has impressed so far in his handful of appearances - providing energy, drive and vision in the City midfield.

However, he has suffered an ankle injury which kept him sidelined for the 2-0 victory over Hull City, and last night's 2-1 reversal away at Leicester City. We missed his presence, along with a number of other injured stars.

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has now revealed that Drinkwater suffered a similar injury to the current ankle problem last season and ended up missing almost 3 months of action while on-loan at Huddersfield Town.

Jones told the SW Echo:

"Danny had a similar problem last season and he has gone back to Manchester United to ensure it`s not too serious."

The news will worry Bluebirds fans who remember we were without last season's loan player Kelvin Etuhu for much of the campaign as he returned to paretn club Manchester City for treatment, also on an ankle injury. He returned, but never looked the player we thought we would see and ultimately disappointed.

Initial hopes are that Drinkwater could be back in full training in a weeks time, however, much will depend on further medical assessment and the need to avoid re-currences throughout the season. With Olofinjana likely to return, Drinkwater's place will go to Stephen McPhail or Gavin Rae in the central midfield area.

Loan Watch: Starts for Diouf, Welbeck, Chester and Norwood
-redforcerising.net-

Oliver Norwood goes straight into Carlisle’s first team

Blackburn Rovers 1 – 1 Fulham
Mame Biram Diouf received his third league start and played the full 90 minutes as Blackburn drew Fulham 1-1.
Christopher Samba opened the scoring in the 30th minute before Clint Dempsey equalised on 55 minutes.

Sunderland 1 – 1 Arsenal
Danny Welbeck received his second start for Sunderland and played the full 90 minutes as Sunderland salvaged a late point against Arsenal through Darren Bent’s injury time equaliser.

Wigan Athletic 0 – 2 Manchester City
Tom Cleverley picked up a knock in training and was unable to fulfill his wish of getting one over United’s noisy neighbours.
Carlos Tevez drew first blood shortly before half time on 42 minutes and then turned provider by setting up Yaya Toure to make it 2-0 on 69 minutes.

Preston North End 0 – 1 Norwich City
As expected, both Joshua King and Matty James were absentees from Preston’s match on the weekend after picking up ankle injuries against Burnley.
They were both sorely missed as Grant Holt scored the only goal of the match for the Canaries on 61 minutes.

Carlisle United 0 – 0 Brighton and Hove Albion
Oliver Norwood has joined fellow United youngster James Chester on loan at Carlisle and went straight into the first team as both players played the full 90 minutes against Brighton in a bore draw.

Huddersfield Town 4 – 2 Yeovil Town
Cameron Stewart was left out of Yeovil’s matchday squad yet again and the player has returned to United to play in two reserves matches before heading back to Yeovil.
Stewart started tonight’s reserves match against Bury, which United won 5 – 1.

Ipswich Town 2 – 0 Cardiff City
Danny Drinkwater was left out of Cardiff’s travelling party to Portman Road, as he was sill recovering from an ankle injury.
Roy Keane’s men bounced back from their 0-3 defeat against QPR by beating Cardiff 2-0.

Blades bring in defender
Posted on: Fri 24 Sep 2010

United have moved to restore their defensive resources by bringing in Manchester United's Ritchie De Laet on a 30 day loan.

The 22 year old Belgian International arrived at Old Trafford via Antwerp and Stoke City in January 2009 and made his senior bow five months later.

He has so far made six senior starts, was the Reds' Reserve Player of the Year last season and can play right across the back four.

Having lost Chris Morgan with a hamstring injury and Rob Kozluk with a jarred knee this week Gary Speed moved to cover the gap and said:

"We need versatile cover in case of further disruption and Ritchie will go straight into our squad at Leeds on Saturday.

"I have seen him play loads of times, he's a good, solid player and I'm very pleased to get him here."

Alan Knill has surprised everyone by naming Nicky Ajose on the team sheet at Cheltenham, Nicky joins Bury on a months loan from Manchester United

Nicky Ajose is a highly-regarded attacking talent hailing from Bury in Greater Manchester.

He can play up front or out wide on either flank, and most importantly likes to beat defenders and score, or create, goals.

Ajose signed professional forms with the Reds in summer 2009, but has been associated with the club's youth setup for a number of years.

"Nicky has been with us in the Academy for a long time," says United U18s coach Paul McGuinness. "He is a very exciting player and has the ability to beat defenders with his pace or skill.

"He is
very quick whether he is running with or without the ball," adds Paul. "Nicky can make things happen in and around the goal. He's creative and is capable of making or scoring goals."

After sharpening his talents in the U18s, Nicky made a seamless transition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Warren Joyce's Reserves. His fine early-season form in 2010/11 prompted the award of a first team squad number; a deserved recognition of Ajose's rapid development.

Loans: Debutant Reds

Two more Reds left Old Trafford on loan over the weekend, and immediately clocked up some minutes for their temporary clubs...

Ritchie De Laet was helpless to prevent a 1-0 defeat to Leeds as he made his Sheffield United debut in a feisty Yorkshire derby at Elland Road. De Laet was introduced to the action at half-time, putting in a confident display at right-back for Gary Speed’s Blades.

Also making his loan-debut was hot-shot striker Nicky Ajose, who has signed for League two promotion chasers Bury on a one month deal. The Bury-born forward came on for the final 10 minutes to help consolidate a comfortable 2-0 win at Cheltenham.

Danny Welbeck played 80 minutes for Sunderland and was pivotal in securing an impressive 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield. The England under-21 star took a heavy blow to the head from Steven Gerrard, resulting in his substitution for Asamoah Gyan.

Mame Biram Diouf’s fine form in a Blackburn Rovers shirt was rewarded with a start against Blackpool as Sam Allardyce’s men secured a dramatic 2-1 win. The Senegalese striker had struck four goals in eight, but failed to hit the target against the Tangerines before being substituted at half-time.

James Chester and Oliver Norwood both retained their starting places for Carlisle United but were at the wrong end of a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth. Norwood continued to anchor the midfield before being substituted on 55 minutes, while Chester completed a full game at centre-half.

Elsewhere, Tom Cleverly, Joshua King, Matthew James and Danny Drinkwater all missed out through injury for Wigan Athletic, Preston North End and Cardiff City respectively, while Cameron Stewart was overlooked for Yeovil Town's 3-1 defeat to Exeter City.

In other news Bury have signed Manchester United youngster Nicky Ajose on loan

League Two promotion chasers Bury have signed Manchester United youngster Nicky Ajose on a one-month loan deal.

United Under-18s coach Paul McGuinness, son of former Red Devils boss Wilf, told Bury’s website: “Nicky has been with us in the Academy for a long time.

“He is a very exciting player and has the ability to beat defenders with his pace or skill.”

The Bury-born forward, 18, signed his first professional deal with United in the summer of 2009.

Ajose made his Shakers debut in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Cheltenham, coming on for the final 10 minutes when he replaced six-goal top scorer Ryan Lowe.

That victory put Bury, who made the League Two play-offs under boss Alan Knill two seasons ago and just missed out on the final day last term, up to sixth in the table.

Defenders Gill and Brown sign up on loan until October 25
-thetelegraphandargus.co.uk-

http://cache.mars.sina.com.cn/nd/forumsports/attachments/year_09/month_12/b/9/Oliver-Gill-001.jpg

Bradford City today signed Manchester United defenders Oliver Gill and Reece Brown on loan until October 25.

Gill, 20, is a centre half who can also play left back. The Surrey-born youngster, who is the son of United chief executive David, was given a first-team squad number last season and was named on the bench against Fulham in March.

He was a regular in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reserve team which conceded only ten goals all campaign and was nominated for their player of the year award.

Brown is the 18-year-old younger brother of Wes and plays along the same lines. Like Gill, he is a centre half but also appears frequently at right back – the position City will use him to fill after the injuries to Simon Ramsden and Lewis Hunt.

Brown played for England under-19s in last summer’s European Championships in France.

Young trio head out on loan

Reece Brown, Oliver Gill and Conor Devlin will all spend the next four weeks furthering their football educations on loan.

Defenders Brown and Gill join League Two side Bradford City, while goalkeeper Devlin joins League One's Hartlepool United. All three have agreed deals until 25 October.

The trio follow Oliver Norwood, Ritchie De Laet and Nicky Ajose, who have all embarked on four-week moves in recent days, as the club seeks to keep players ticking over during a five-week gap in fixtures for the Reserves.

United now have a total of 14 players out on loan across England's top four divisions.

Manchester United youngster Scott Wootton signs one-month loan deal with Tranmere Rovers
Reserves regular to get taste of first team action...
By Matt Monaghan
30 Sep 2010 14:21:00

Manchester United have allowed defender Scott Wootton to sign for Tranmere Rovers in a one-month emergency loan deal.

The Birkenhead-born youngster began his career at the club before leaving for Liverpool six years ago. Since joining United in 2007, he has captained the under-18 side and been a regular in reserve manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's set up.

Speaking to Tranmere's official website, manager Les Parry was excited about welcoming the 19-year-old to the League One club.

He said: "I'm pleased to be able to bring Scott to the club.

"He's a highly rated young defender and with Marlon Broomes and Ash Taylor injured and Jermaine Grandison picking up an injury just before the end of his loan spell it was important we brought a player of his quality into the club.

"I'd like to thank Manchester United for allowing him to come to us for a month."

An eye-catching cameo from Nick Ajose was the highlight as several loanees saw action on a full Tuesday night of Football League fixtures.

After a fleeting ten minute appearance at Cheltenham on Saturday, Ajose was this time given the best part of half an hour at Morecambe to make an impression and didn’t disappoint. With the Shakers holding a precarious 2-1 lead at the Globe Arena, the 18 year-old United youngster replaced top scorer Ryan Lowe and proceeded to set up Andy Howarth and Steven Schumacher with almost identikit assists, beating the full-back to the line with blistering pace and picking his colleagues out with precise low crosses.

After that immediate impact, and post-match praise from boss Alan Knill – “He’s a really clever player. He pulls on people’s shoulders and once he faces them, he is very positive. He should have had a couple of goals himself, but he made a couple of goals for others.” – Ajose will be hoping for a start in what will be his first home game against Rotherham United this weekend.

Another young Red making his second loan appearance was Ritchie de Laet, who was handed a start by Sheffield United boss Gary Speed as the Blades travelled to face Nottingham Forest. De Laet acquitted himself well as his side picked up a creditable point at the City Ground, although a slight ankle knock and a bout of cramp forced him off a few minutes from time. The Belgian was played at right-back, but with another loanee, Arsenal centre-back Kyle Bartley, fracturing a cheekbone in the game, De Laet may be set for a move into the middle as Watford visit Bramall Lane on Saturday.

United loanees were in opposition for the League One clash at Victoria Park, with James Chester and Oliver Norwood in the Carlisle United ranks as they made the journey east to face Hartlepool United, who earlier in the day had brought in Conor Devlin on an emergency loan. As it turned out Devlin was an unused substitute, but that was arguably a blessing in disguise as the home side were hammered 4-0. Chester, who has firmly established himself at the heart of the Carlisle defence, started and played the full ninety, while Norwood was a late substitute for Tom Taiwo.

Another late sub was Cameron Stewart, who made his return for Yeovil Town after his recent rehab from injury back in Manchester. The winger was a 77th minute replacement for Andy Welsh as Yeovil drew 1-1 with Southampton at Huish Park. While he spent the majority of his time on the pitch defending as the Glovers held on for a precious point, getting some valuable minutes under his belt post-injury can only help the 19 year-old, and he’ll be pushing for greater involvement this weekend as Yeovil travel to Walsall looking to climb out of the League One drop zone.

Preston North End were involved in one of the most remarkable games in a long time, although unfortunately both Matt James and Joshua King:((were still absent with the injuries they picked up against Burnley earlier in the month. North End trailed 4-1 to Leeds at one point but staged an extraordinary comeback, Jon Parkin’s hattrick helping them to a memorable 6-2 win at Elland Road. King is in contention to return from his ankle injury at the weekend, while James is also recovering well and isn’t too far away from full fitness. Danny Drinkwater also sat out Tuesday’s action, his thigh injury ruling him out of Cardiff’s goalless draw at home to Crystal Palace. The October 16th ‘derby’ with Bristol City has apparently been targeted for the Reds midfielder’s comeback.

Monday 18th October
Mame Biram Diouf & Danny Welbeck
Blackburn Rovers 0-0 Sunderland
Danny Welbeck received his 4th league start of the season and did well under the gaze of Sir Alex Ferguson who was at Ewood Park with assistant manager Mike Phelan and Everton manager David Moyes.
An illegal challenge on Welbeck by Blackburn defender Christopher Samba resulted in Samba’s sending offf shortly before half-time.
However, Sunderland could not take advantage of the numerical advantage and Rovers held out for a 0-0 draw.
Diouf came on as an 80th minute sub for Benjani, but it was too late for him to make an impact.

Saturday 16th October
Tom Cleverley
Newcastle United 2-2 Wigan Athletic
Roberto Martinez welcomed back Tom Cleverley to the squad and he played 12 minutes after coming on as a sub for Ronnie Stam on 78 minutes.

Devlin was an unsed sub.

Reece Brown & Oliver Gill
Bor Brown and Gill started and played the whole 90 minutes for Bradford.

Scott Wootton

Man Utd youngster extends Bury loan period
22.10.10 | Ian Ferris - tribal

Bury have extended the loan deal of young Manchester United forward Nicky Ajose until 3 January, reports BBC Sport.

The 19-year-old has been in impressive form during his initial one-month stay at Gigg Lane.

The Bury-born youngster has so far notched two goals in six games for his hometown club.

Ajose will now be available for Saturday's game against Southend, with the Shakers looking to continue their seven match unbeaten run.

Cumbrians sign Corry on loan
Friday 22nd October 2010 19:45

Carlisle have signed Manchester United and Northern Ireland midfielder Corry Evans on a month-long loan deal.

The loan is pending final clearance from the Premier League and Football League.

Evans, younger brother of United regular Jonny, has yet to make his first-team bow for the Red Devils but has appeared seven times for his country, scoring his first international goal in the Euro 2012 qualifying victory over Slovenia.

He is expected to go straight into the Cumbrians' squad for the visit of Charlton on Saturday, is the third player to make the journey from Old Trafford to Brunton Park this season.

Defender James Chester has been a fixture in the side since his loan arrival in the summer, while Evans will likely take the place of Oliver Norwood, who has been sent back to Manchester United for treatment on a thigh injury.

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott told the club's official website: "Manchester United have been absolutely fantastic in helping us out with what we think is another quality addition to the squad. He comes here ready to play and he is the kind of player who keeps us moving in the right direction.

"He has proven quality and he has already told us how much he is looking forward to being involved. We think this is a good signing at a time when we needed to add to the squad in what is a key area."

Defenders Reece Brown and Oliver Gill have now both returned to Manchester United following the end of their month's loan.

Peter Taylor was keen to extend their stay at City but the Premiership giants have decided to recall the duo back to Old Trafford.

Taylor said: "We would have liked to have kept them for a little longer, but we believe United need them to fulfil some reserve matches".

"It's a shame because I think they've enjoyed it. They have both done some good things for us and I think they would have got better if they'd stayed longer."

The United defenders made their debut for City against Morecambe at the start of October only days after joining the football club.

Gill featured in every game during his loan period at the Coral Windows Stadium while Brown also managed to make three appearances despite a knee injury.

The football club would like to thank Oliver and Reece for all their efforts during their time with Bradford City and wish them all the best for the future.

Man Utd youngster Corry Evans hopes for Carlisle Utd star role

CORRY Evans hopes a starring role for Carlisle United will boosthim into the Manchester United first team.

The 20-year-old midfielder is on stand-by for a possible debut in Greg Abbott’s injury-ravaged side when they travel to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Evans shook hands with his new team-mates on Saturday morning after dashing to Cumbria in an emergency loan deal in time for the 4-3 defeat to Charlton Athletic after his Old Trafford team-mate Oliver Norwood was forced to return to Manchester through injury.

He had to be content with a place on the bench during the seven-goal thriller but is hoping to be included in Saturday’s starting line-up, which would be his senior football baptism.

The Belfast-born player – younger brother of Red Devils star Jonny Evans – is yet to play in the Premier League but already has seven senior Northern Ireland caps.

But he believes some eye-catching performances for Carlisle will see him take another step towards breaking into Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. Evans said: “There is a huge first-team squad but you have to keep your confidence high and believe you can get there otherwise there’s no point in being at Manchester United.

“I’m keen to make a good impression at Carlisle. Manchester United have people watching players who are out on loan, checking their progress and keeping in contact with how they are getting on in training and how they are coping with the first team.

“Being involved in the international scene and getting some caps for my country has taught me a lot but I want to play every week in a first-team environment.”

“Playing every two weeks for the reserves isn’t the same so it’s great to come to Carlisle and get some games.”

Abbott tried to lure Evans to Brunton Park earlier this season only to get the knock-back because Evans was on the brink of making the Manchester United squad. But the injury to Norwood, whose further month on loan at Carlisle has been scrapped because of a thigh injury, paved the way for a successful attempt to bring Evans to Cumbria.Evans, who links up with another Old Trafford loan kid, James Chester, at Carlisle, said: “I had the chance to come to Carlisle a couple of months ago before Oliver Norwood but the manager wanted me to be in his first-team plans.“I was eager to come up here then and get some first-team experience at a good level but I’ve managed to persuade them now to allow me to come up this time. Hopefully I can take the chance and get a few games under my belt.”

Return of the prodigal sons

Conor Devlin has returned to Manchester United at the end of his one-month loan spell at Victoria Park.

The young goalkeeper spent time at Pools as cover for fellow loan man Jake Kean, who is first choice at the moment in the absence of Scott Flinders and Andy Rafferty.

Devlin was an unused substitute for six First Team games during his loan spell, as well as making two outings for the Reserves.
“We’d like to thank the people at Manchester United for their help and allowing us to take Conor on loan,” Mick Wadsworth commented.

Defenders Reece Brown and Oliver Gill have now both returned to Manchester United following the end of their month’s loan. (seperti post om RobPat diatas)

Loans: Comings and goings

These are hectic times in United's loan programme. As some short term deals end and others extend, longer term deals wind on. ManUtd.com charts the ongoing contributions of the dislocated Reds...

Midweek action

Under the terms of his loan deal, Tom Cleverley was ineligible to feature for Wigan in their Carling Cup win over Swansea, but shone in a brief cameo and twice came close to scoring during the Latics' weekend draw with Bolton.

Scott Wootton's fine form for Tranmere continued with a key role in Rovers' passage to the quarter-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The 19-year-old shone defensively and had a goal ruled out for offside in Tuesday's goalless draw with Stockport, and he converted a penalty as County were overcome in a shootout.

Weekend action

Danny Welbeck’s fine form continued in Sunderland’s narrow victory over Aston Villa. Fortune favoured the Black Cats as Villa’s Richard Dunne scored the only goal of the game. Welbeck, who completed 65 minutes, was denied his first goal for Steve Bruce’s side by an impressive save from Brad Friedel.

Matty James once again anchored Preston’s midfield capably, as Darren Ferguson’s side fought out a thrilling 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace. The England under-19s skipper completed 90 minutes as North End moved out of the Championship’s relegation zone. Joshua King missed out through injury.

Ritchie De Laet enjoyed another busy afternoon on the left side of Sheffield United’s defence at Doncaster. The Blades slipped to a 2-0 defeat to remain in a precarious position 13th position.

James Chester’s superb run at the heart of the Carlisle defence was curtailed by injury after 19 minutes of his side’s clash with Charlton. Chester retired injured with the score at 0-0, and the Addicks eventually ran out 4-3 winners in injury time. Corry Evans, who joined Carlisle as a replacement for injury victim Oliver Norwood, was an unused substitute.

Nicky Ajose’s dream spell with Bury continued with victory over Southend. The on-song striker won a penalty for the Shakers and, although Ryan Lowe’s kick was saved, Joe Skarz scored after the break to put Bury in the automatic promotion spots.

Oliver Gill and Reece Brown endured a miserable end to their loan spell with Bradford. The Bantams were roundly thumped 3-0 at Burton Albion, while Gill’s misery was compounded by a booking for unsporting behaviour.

Conor Devlin was an unused substitute in Hartlepool’s 2-2 draw with Bristol Rovers in his final match before returning to United. Mame Biram Diouf also remained on the bench during Blackburn's defeat at Liverpool, while Danny Drinkwater has not yet sufficiently recovered from injury to return for Cardiff. Meanwhile, Cameron Stewart’s loan at Yeovil Town was cancelled last week.

Man Utd kid Corry set for Carlisle debut
Last updated at 09:53, Saturday, 30 October 2010 | Newsandstar

Corry Evans is ready to be thrown into the heat of League One battle, according to Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott.

The Manchester United loan midfielder is poised to make his United debut – and his first senior club appearance – at Bristol Rovers today.

Northern Ireland international Evans, the 20-year-old brother of Old Trafford star Jonny, could join Tom Taiwo and James Berrett in the engine room today.

And Abbott said: “Corry has taken to things well and he comes into contention for the game. Already in training he has shown he is a decent player and would step into the breach no problem whatsoever.

“He can pass it, he is tenacious, has a good reading of the game and is a good, all-round footballer.

“He has been on the fringes of the Manchester United squad and being an international you would think he would handle our level.”

Abbott will hand Mike Grella his second start after the Leeds loan striker opened his scoring account in last Saturday’s 4-3 defeat by Charlton.

The American has impressed so far but Abbott believes fans have not seen the best of him.

“We think there is more to come from Mike,” he said. “I have told him one or two reasons why he is maybe not getting into the Leeds team and fulfilling the potential he has got.

“He said it is nice for someone to sit down and talk constructively with him. Even though he played well last weekend there are parts of his game which can be better.”

Man Utd winger Cleverley mixed emotions over full Wigan debut
tribalfootball.com - November 2, 2010, 5:09 pm

Manchester United winger Tom Cleverley admits mixed emotions over his full Premier League debut.

Although Wigan Athletic will want to forget the memories of defeat at Fulham, the 21-year-old says he'll always remember the day he made his first start in the Premier League.

"It was my full Premier League debut so I'll remember the game for the rest of my life despite the result, and now we focus ourselves on the next game away to Blackburn," Cleverley told the Wigan website.

"Playing against players like Danny Murphy you learn an awful lot very quickly. These are experienced players who have been at the top level for a long time and their quality showed through at times.

"We got a little momentum going before their first goal but couldn't really build on it. Overall it was a bad afternoon but as they say there's always next week and we'll work hard now to put things right at Ewood Park."

Loan Watch: Welbeck impresses | Drinkwater back from injury
09/11/10 8:13 PM | Redforcerising

A busy week at work mkeans I’ll have to pinch this loan updated from manutd.com, but have added info on Drinkwater and Ajose.

Although a host of short-term loans have ended, United still have eight players learning their trade throughout the English divisions…

Danny Welbeck played a key role as Sunderland banished memories of their 5-1 defeat at Newcastle with a battling 2-0 win over Stoke. Asamoah Gyan took the goals and the plaudits, but Welbeck was a constant thorn in the visitors’ side, and was twice the victim of fouls from Ryan Shawcross which prompted bookings and ultimately a dismissal for the former United defender.

Mame Biram Diouf was substituted at half-time against Wigan as Sam Allardyce sought the creativity of attacking midfielder David Dunn. The scoreline was 0-0 when Diouf departed, and Rovers went on to win 2-1 against their Lancashire rivals, for whom Tom Cleverley was an unused substitute.

Matty James gave another industrious, string-pulling display in Preston North End’s midfield at Bristol City, while Joshua King again missed out with an ankle injury. Despite turning in a fine display, the Lilywhites were held to a 1-1 draw and remain in the bottom four of the Championship.

James Chester returned from injury to retake his place in the heart of Carlisle’s defence, and enjoyed a trouble-free afternoon as the Cumbrians stormed to a 6-0 victory over Tipton Town in the FA Cup 1st round. Corry Evans sat out the match with a tight hamstring.

Nicky Ajose once again completed 90 minutes for Bury, and had a quiet game as the Shakers routinely progressed to the FA Cup 2nd round with a 2-0 victory over Exeter City.

Earlier in the week, Ajose started his 5th league game for Bury against Bradford. Ajose played the full 90 minutes, but could not help his side as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat.

Danny Drinkwater finally received some playing time again after returning from injury, but could not mark his return with a win as The Swans swooped for a 0-1 victory over The Bluebirds.
Drinkwater started the match and played 81 minutes before making way for Jason Koumas.

@ Agung, video-nya nggak bisa diliat. Dah di klaim tuh... tapi thanks-nya tetep.

Baru aja nonton wigan vs pool. Ternyata Cleverley posisi maennya free role gitu ya. Mirip fletcher tapi lebih nyerang. Aku pikir dia jadi winger di wigan. Wah... ntar pas balik dijadiin apa ya sama Fergie? Jadi AM atau winger ya?

Positifnya Cleverley both feet, dua kakinya bagus.

Sir Alex Ferguson helps son Darren with Ritchie De Laet loan switch to Preston

Manchester United have reached agreement with Preston for Ritchie De Laet to sign on an emergency one-month loan.

Darren Ferguson turned to his father for help and Sir Alex Ferguson has allowed the left-back to join the Championship’s basement club despite strong interest from Preston’s rivals.

De Laet, 21, impressed while on loan at Sheffield United earlier this season and they were keen to take him back to Bramall Lane.

However, the Old Trafford boss feels that De Laet can fill a more important role at Preston with the club three points adrift at the bottom of the table.

Ferguson jnr is desperate to strengthen his squad further and will try again for Stoke’s former Preston utility player Danny Pugh.

He is also interested in Pugh’s Stoke team-mate Michael Tonge, as revealed in Sportsmail last week, although the indications are that Tonge will join another Championship club.

After picking up just one point from their last four games, Preston need to act quickly to head off the threat of relegation.

The Lancashire club have been going through a cost-cutting programme over recent months as they strive to ease debts, but they are aware that dropping down to League One would be a financial disaster.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are continuing to monitor the progress of Preston midfielder Adam Barton.

Loans: Welbeck shines
manutd.com

A host of short-term loans have ended, but United still have eight players plying their trade through the divisions...

Danny Welbeck played a leading role at Stamford Bridge, helping Sunderland inflict a first home defeat since March on Chelsea. The Black Cats won 3-0 and the young United striker was a constant threat to a Chelsea defence lacking in quality without the injured John Terry and Alex. Goals from Nedum Onuoha and Asamoah Gyan gave Steve Bruce’s men a 2-0 lead before Welbeck pounced on Ashley Cole’s misguided back-pass to seal victory with a cool finish.

Elsewhere, James Chester bagged his first senior goal for Carlisle United as The Cumbrians edged a five-goal thriller to beat Southampton 3-2 in League One. The 21-year-old filled in at left-back and scored Carlisle's third with a bullet header in the 59th minute. Dean Hammond’s 30-yard strike brought the Saints back into the game with 10 minutes to go but United held on. Corry Evans, also on loan at Carlisle, sat out with a hamstring strain.

Tom Cleverley made his third straight start for Wigan Athletic in a hard-fought 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at the DW stadium. The England Under-21 international played on the right-wing, though, constantly switching flanks with Charles N’Zogbia, whose neat pass

Matty James was unable to prevent Preston North End losing 2-0 to fellow Championship strugglers Hull City at Deepdale. The Reds youngster was substituted for Keith Treacy after a difficult 63 minutes at the heart of a three-man midfield for Darren Ferguson’s. Defeat leaves North End 23rd in the league and without a win in five. Joshua King was absent through injury.

Nicky Ajose played 68 minutes for Bury in their surprise 1-0 defeat to local rivals Stockport County at Gigg Lane. Wes Anderson’s 14th minute goal sealed the win for County. Ajose came close to equalising late in the first half when his cross-field strike was well saved by keeper Matt Glennon.

Meanwhile, Mame Biram Diouf was an unused substitute in Blackburn’s 4-2 defeat to Tottenham in the Premier League.

Loans: De Laet's debut

With the Reserves now back in league action, a number of young Reds have returned to Old Trafford, but United still have eight players plying their trade throughout the divisions.

Ritchie De Laet made his debut for Preston North End but was helpless to prevent a 3-1 defeat to Championship leaders QPR. The Belgian defender, who recently completed a temporary stint at Sheffield United, was signed by Darren Ferguson on an emergency loan last week to improve his side’s woeful defensive record. The Lilywhites have conceded the most goals in the Championship and have lost 12 of their last 18 league games. Fellow United loan signing Matty James was an unused substitute.

Nicky Ajose netted his fourth goal for Bury in a convincing 3-1 win over Burton Albion as a fifth straight away victory moved the Shakers up to second in League Two. The United striker, who recently extended his loan spell at Gigg Lane until 3 January, deftly lobbed the Albion keeper to give his side a 2-1 lead just after the break. Efe Sodje sealed the three points with a bullet header on 73 minutes.

Mame Biram Diouf was a second-half substitute for Blackburn Rovers as they celebrated the club’s recent takeover with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Ewood Park. The United striker, who replaced David Hoilett after 64 minutes, will have to miss Rovers' next game - at Old Trafford - as league rules prohibit him from playing against his permanent employers. Tom Cleverley was absent from Wigan's 2-0 defeat to the Reds for the same reason.

Danny Drinkwater played 45 minutes for Cardiff City in their 2-0 defeat to fellow promotion-chasers Nottingham Forest on Saturday. The midfielder replaced Michael Chopra at half-time with the score at 1-0. However the Bluebirds struggled to create any meaningful chances and eventually conceded a second goal to surrender defeat and their place at the top of the Championship table.

James Chester was impressive at centre-half for Carlisle United but could not prevent a shock 2-1 defeat to relegation-threatened Walsall in League One. The Reds defender coped well with the aggression of Saddlers striker Jon Macken, a former Old Trafford trainee. Chester has now started 17 games for Greg Abbott’s side as he continues a six-month loan deal.

Finally, Danny Welbeck was set to start for Sunderland on Monday night, at home to Everton. The United striker scored in the Black Cats' previous game, an impressive 3-0 win over Chelsea.

Sunderland 2-2 Everton

Welbeck frustrated over draw

Danny Welbeck was frustrated not to take all three points after Everton deprived them with a late equaliser at the Stadium of Light.

Welbeck told Sky Sports 1: ''We were disappointed not to get the three points but we played really well and did well to keep it at 2-2. It's a team game and we're always looking to get three points but we'll take it as a positive and move on.''

Welbeck facing a dilemma as Sunderland bid to prevent him returning to Manchester United
By COLIN YOUNG - dailymail 23rd November 2010

Danny Welbeck is refusing to pledge his future to Manchester United or loan club Sunderland, who want to sign the 19-year-old striker permanently at the end of the season.

Welbeck scored his second and third goals for Sunderland in Monday's 2-2 draw with Everton and has finally found his feet on Wearside, helped by Steve Bruce's decision to play him as strike partner to Asamoah Gyan or Darren Bent.

What do I do? Danny Welbeck celebrates his double strike against Everton on Monday

The striker, who will turn 20 on Friday, is aware Bruce wants him to stay at the Stadium of Light beyond his loan period but Welbeck is simply enjoying the moment.

He said: 'I've seen what Steve Bruce has said and there will be a decision I need to make on my future at some point. It's fine. At the moment, all I'm looking at is short term.

'I just want to do my best in every game and I'm not thinking about whether I go back to Manchester United or not at the moment.

'My aim was to come here and get minutes on the pitch. That is what I needed. When I was at Manchester United I was getting the odd chance here and there, but I was never ready to take them. I'd miss loads of games and then I'd be thrown in to it and I would struggle a bit to do myself justice.

'It's different here, I'm playing every game and I'm getting better and better. You can see that I'm benefiting from it, I'm confident and I'm really enjoying my football at the moment.

'I'm a centre forward and that is my preferred position, but I'll play on the wing or in midfield, wherever the manager wants me to play. I'm still learning my trade at the moment and I'm still developing.'

Rookie striker back on loan at Deepdale

Teenage striker Joshua King has returned to Preston on a youth loan from Manchester United.

The 18-year-old's previous loan expired following North End's clash with Hull earlier this month, but manager Darren Ferguson has opted to bring the Norwegian back to Deepdale until January 4th.

The youngster's earlier loan spell at the Championship club was cut short after he suffered an ankle injury.

King, who came through the youth ranks at United, scored one goal in nine appearances for the Lilywhites.

Manchester United striker Cameron Stewart seals loan move to Hull City

http://img.skysports.com/10/11/218x298/CameronStewart_2534221.jpg
Hull City have signed Manchester United youngster Cameron Stewart on loan until January.

The 19-year-old striker, who can play through the middle or on the wing, started the season at Yeovil but cut his loan spell short due to a lack of playing time.

The Tigers could hand Stewart his debut against Middlesbrough on Saturday and United reserve team boss Warren Joyce has backed the forward to make the most of his chance.

He told the Hull Daily Mail: 'He has got bags of pace and is a very hard-working lad. He has a good touch, he's quick and he can take players on. He can play anywhere in a front two or three or on his own. But he can also play out wide as a winger and come in off the flank.

'It's a good opportunity for him to go to Hull and he's looking forward to it. He knows it's a fantastic opportunity which has presented itself and he intends to make an impact, whether he starts or whether that's off the bench.'

Stewart has yet to feature for the United first team but was called up to the senior squad against Wolfsburg last season in the Champions League. His contract at Old Trafford expires in June.

England have capped Stewart at Under 17 and Under 19 level.

Scott Wootton is back at hometown club Tranmere Rovers as Lateef Elford-Alliyu answers emergency call
Nov 26 2010 by Nick Hilton, Liverpool Daily Post

TRANMERE secured the services of Manchester United centre-back Scott Wootton for a second loan spell and pepped up their attacking options by recruiting last night.

Wootton, a 19-year-old from Birkenhead, rejoined his home-town club on a temporary basis after a crop of injuries forced manager Les Parry to seek reinforcements.

Wootton’s five-game loan spell in October left a positive impression and Parry was delighted to secure his services from United.

Parry said: “Scott did very well for us when he was here last time. He loves being here and was devastated when he was called back at the end of his first spell. I’m grateful to Manchester United for allowing him to join us for a second time. He will be with us until the early part of January.
“Scott helps us because he can play centre midfield and right-back as well a centre-back.”

Bruce: Welbeck will start
Steve Bruce has shared his thoughts on his striking conundrum ahead of Saturday's trip to Wolves.

http://www.safc.com/javaImages/e1/d7/0,,10281~9230305,00.jpg

A combination of Darren Bent and Asamoah Gyan might be "mouth-watering", but Steve Bruce says Danny Welbeck's recent form makes him undroppable at present.
Welbeck scored his first goal for Sunderland at Chelsea alongside Gyan, and then partnered Bent for the visit of Everton, netting twice more.
The Sunderland manager confirmed the on-loan Manchester United striker will start at Wolves on Saturday, with top scorer Bent seemingly the favourite to join him up front.
But Ghanaian star Gyan could be in the reckoning too after he returned to training today as the team were put through their paces at a snow-bound Stadium of Light.
The £13m signing has made a big impression himself, scoring four times in his last three games before missing the Everton clash with a hamstring problem.
Asked about the possibility of a Bent-Gyan partnership, Bruce responded: "Then what are you going to do with Welbeck?

"We'll see how Asamoah does this week and that will define my thinking.

"Yes, the possibility is there and it's mouth-watering, but it would be unwise and unkind of me to drop Danny.

"With the two performances he's put together, how could I even think about leaving him out at the moment?

"Danny Welbeck will play on Saturday."

Seven young Reds turn out for their temporary clubs, three finding the net...

Tom Cleverley was a shining light for Wigan Athletic, albeit in their disappointing 3-1 defeat at West Ham in the Barclays Premier League. The midfielder curled a fine shot past Robert Green in the 86th minute to score his first goal for the Latics, and earlier won a penalty - poorly taken by team-mate Mauro Boselli, saved by Green - after a foul by Danny Gabbidon.

Danny Welbeck continued his red-hot form for Sunderland, scoring his fourth goal in three league games as the Black Cats lost 3-2 to Wolves. The young striker expertly guided a header past Wayne Hennessey to put his side 2-1 up after 77 minutes but just when victory seemed likely for the visitors, Wolves hit back with two late goals from Stephen Hunt and former Reds striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Mame Biram Diouf was ineligible to play for Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford as they were routed 7-1 by his permanent employers United at Old Trafford.

Danny Drinkwater continues to blossom for Cardiff City but was unable to prevent a 2-1 defeat to QPR in a top-of-the-table Championship clash. The midfielder started in the centre and strived to inspire the Bluebirds' impressive forward line of Craig Bellamy and new England international Jay Bothroyd. After a solid shift up and down the park, he was replaced by Jason Koumas on 57 minutes with the score at 1-1.

Ritchie De Laet played 87 minutes for Preston North End and will no doubt be pleased with a clean sheet - prior to Saturday's 0-0 stalemate with Millwall, Darren Ferguson's struggling side had conceded 38 goals in 18 games. A point at a freezing Deepdale leaves North End five points adrift at the bottom of the league but brings an end to a run of three defeats. Fellow loan signing Matty James was not included in the squad.

James Chester scored a dramatic late winner for Carlisle United as they came from behind to beat Tamworth 3-2 in the FA Cup second round. The midfielder’s glancing header in the 90th minute rounded off an excellent cup tie to send Gregg Abbott’s side through to face Torquay United in the third round. A previous header was cleared off the line.

In more FA Cup action, Nicky Ajose’s Bury were eliminated from the competition after losing 2-1 to Peterborough United at Gigg Lane. The Shakers found themselves 2-0 down after 37 minutes as the Posh showed their League One superiority. Ryan Lowe got a goal back for the home side before Ajose saw his chance to equalise parried over the bar by keeper Joe Lewis with 10 minutes remaining.

Ferguson: Welbeck will return
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has dashed Steve Bruce's hopes of signing Danny Welbeck permanently.

http://www.premierleague.com/javaImages/3f/25/0,,12306~9250111,00.jpg

The striker, 20, is on a season-long loan at Sunderland and is currently in top form, netting four goals in his last four matches.

Black Cats manager Bruce has made no secret that he would like to make Welbeck's switch permanent, although he has conceded there is little chance of succeeding in this aim.

And Ferguson, who has been impressed with the striker's form on Wearside, wants him back at the end of the season.

Had Problems

The Scot said: "He's doing brilliantly and he comes back to us at the end of his loan.

"The boy is a fantastic talent but the problem for Danny was that he wasn't getting enough football.

"You had to go back to our youth games, two-and-a-half years ago, for the last time he played more than four games in a row. He also had problems in growing, in terms of his strength.

"He missed a lot of football because of that. I said that to him last season when I sent him to Preston on loan.

"Then he got injured and had to have a knee operation. That could have been down to a lack of strength in his thigh and knee area.

"But the strength is starting to come now. His physique is settled now and he's starting to put on muscle.

"He's a big, big lad - 6ft 2ins or 6ft 3ins. He played well against Chelsea and Everton."

Preston plan to keep De Laet
Ferguson pleased with on-loan defender's contribution
http://img.skysports.com/10/11/218x298/RitchieDeLaet_2530299.jpg
Last updated: 8th December 2010

Preston North End are hoping to extend the loan deal of Manchester United defender Ritchie de Laet until the end of the season.

De Laet joined Preston last month and his initial stay at Deepdale is due to expire after Saturday's game against Ipswich Town.

The Belgian, who has also been on loan at Sheffield United this season, has made three appearances for Preston so far and has impressed with his versatility.

Lilywhites boss Darren Ferguson has discussed an extension for the 22-year-old and is optimistic De Laet will see out the season with the Championship club.

Ferguson told the Lancashire Evening Post: "I've already had a conversation about Ritchie and hopefully we will be extending it until the end of the season.

"He's a good player, has great pace and can play anywhere across the back four."

De Laet joined United in 2009 from Stoke City and he has made six appearances during his time with the Premier League club.

Mantep dah... apa musim depan Macheda dipinjamkan dan Welbeck yang dimasukin tim inti ya. Biar Macheda bisa dapet pertandingan reguler dan Welbeck bisa unjuk gigi di tim utama United.

Stewart stays with Tigers
Winger enjoying chance of first-team football

Hull City have extended the loan deal of Manchester United teenager Cameron Stewart until the end of the season.

Skysports.com revealed earlier this week that the Tigers had lined up a deal to hang on to the winger following his immediate impact at the KC Stadium.

Stewart has impressed in making three appearances for Hull and created both goals for Jay Simpson in last weekend's 2-0 win over Bristol City.

Cardiff City and Leeds United had shown an interest in the 19-year-old, but Stewart has opted for regular first-team football with the Tigers.

United's reserve-team coach Warren Joyce told the Hull Daily Mail: "We're pleased because we want the boy to do well. He's played and made a contribution in games.

"When players go out on loan they've got to earn their place in the team, and he has so far which is good.

"We get feedback and we watch the DVDs of games, and I've been speaking to Cameron two or three times a week and he's obviously pleased after Saturday."
