Young, foreign and talented: Who is the overseas star lurking in your Premier League club's academy?
By TOM BELLWOOD Last updated at 1:11 AM on 09th September 2009 Never before has such a focus centered on the foreign teenage stars in Premier League club's academies. After Chelsea were handed a transfer ban until 2011 for the way they lured Gael Kakuta away from Lens, rival clubs have come under scrutiny for their young talented kids. So, who is the (under-18) starlet from overseas at each top-flight club? Sportsmail has the answer. ARSENAL Gilles Sunu (18) Signed from Chateauroux, the French frontman was a revelation in Arsenal’s double-winning Under-18 side last term. Sunu excelled in the FA Youth Cup and scored a hat-trick in round four before further goals in the semis and final. ASTON VILLA Andreas Weimann (18) The Austrian striker came to prominence after working his way through the ranks. Netted several times in pre-season and started in the Peace Cup final in Emile Heskey's absence. BIRMINGHAM Brice Ntambwe (16) Academy manager Terry Westley was proud of capturing the signature of Ntambwe and believes the versatile midfielder, who has already captained the Belgium Under 17 team, has a very bright future. BLACKBURN Toni Vastic (17) Highly rated by Sam Allardyce, Rovers had to fight off offers from numerous clubs to secure the signature of the Austrian centre-forward. His father is former Croatia international Ivica Vasitc. BOLTON Aaron Mooy (18) The young Australian midfielder has made great progress at Wanderers. His performances at a tournament in Holland earned him a call-up to the senior Australian squad and he appeared on the substitutes bench during the 3-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland in August. BURNLEY N/A The club have told Sportsmail that they currently have no foreign players aged 18 or under in their academy. EVERTON Shkodran Mustafi (17) The German Under 17 international centre-back left Hamburg in the summer, signing a three-year deal at Goodison Park. His former club tried their best to keep hold of Mustafi but he claimed it was a 'dream come true'. CHELSEA Gael Kakuta (18) Plenty is now known about the left-footed winger. The France youth international was voted as the club's academy scholar of the year at the end of the 2007/2008 season, scoring 12 times in 24 outings. FULHAM Danny Hoesen (18) The Dutch striker was a regular on the scoresheet for Gary Brazil' Under 18 side last season and impressed enough to earn his first professional contract. HULL Yann Ekra (18) The Ivory Coast striker showed great potential while playing for Lyons' reserve team and joined Hull at the beginning of last season. MANCHESTER CITY Jeremy Helan (17) A highly-rated French Under 17 left-sided player who can operate both in defence and midfield. His transfer from Rennes is another being investigated. LIVERPOOL Krisztian Adorjan (16) Adorjan arrived at the academy from MTK Hungaria this summer for his second spell. Likes to play off the frontman and has a knack for special goals. MANCHESTER UNITED Federico Macheda (18) The Italian forward, brought in from Lazio aged 16, was a regular for United's reserves, but announced himself on the scene with a last-gasp winner for the first team against Aston Villa. PORTSMOUTH Gauthier Mahoto (17) Frenchman Mahoto started his career at Havre Athletic. Since joining Portsmouth, he has made his first-team debut as a substitute in the Carling Cup. SUNDERLAND N/A The club have told Sportsmail that they currently have no foreign players aged 18 or under in their academy. STOKE Yusuf Yilmaz (18) The skilful Turkey midfielder is just one of a number of young foreign talents on the books at the Britannia Stadium. Joined the club two years ago and, after some niggling injuries, is making good progress. TOTTENHAM Paul-Jose M'Poku (17) Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, M'Poku moved to Belgium when he was a child. Has represented Belgium at youth level and during his first season at Spurs he scored seven goals. WEST HAM Sergio Sanchez (17) The Spaniard is tipped to be another graduate from Tony Carr's famed academy into the first team at Upton Park. He moved from Spanish giants Barcelona and has already been handed the Under 18s captaincy following his promotion. WIGAN Roman Golobart (17) Golobart (right) Roberto Martinez swooped for Golobart from Espanyol in the summer, signing the centre-back up on a one-year deal. The Spaniard has a commanding presence in defence and would do well in a Kevin Pietersen look-a-like competition, such is his resemblance to the England cricketer. WOLVES N/A The club were unable to repond to Sportsmail in time but it is understood that they have no foreign players aged 18 or under in their academy. Code:

The top 10 young footballers
The top 10 young footballers
according to the telegraph Away from the big-name stars who will make their presence felt in this season's Champions League, here are 10 emerging talents to keep tabs on Yoann Gourcuff (Bordeaux): Excelled on loan from Milan last season — scoring Europe’s best goal last year in the process — and is ready to show his class on a greater stage. Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg): The German champions have done well to retain the Bosnia striker in the face of interest from Milan, and, together with Grafite, he is capable of scoring the goals to take them through. Yassine Chikhaoui (Zürich): The Swiss side are unlikely to be competitive, but the Tunisian Ronaldo should at least be able to play his way to a big money move. Sergio Asenjo (Atlético Madrid): The heir-apparent to Iker Casillas in the Spanish squad, the former Valladolid goalkeeper should provide Atletico with a solidity they have lacked. Riccardo Montolivo (Fiorentina): Cesare Prandelli’s free-flowing style revolves around the Italian international, likely to be a key figure at the World Cup. Diego Milito (Inter): A late arrival to Europe’s top table, the powerful forward has arrived from Genoa to add power to Inter’s forward line and has little time to waste. Pavel Pogrebnyak (Stuttgart): Andrei Arshavin’s partner-in-crime at Zenit St Petersburg, the Russian international will hope his move west will prove as fruitful. Steven Defour (Standard Liège): Possibly the best player outside Europe’s major leagues, that Defour is still in Belgium is something of a minor miracle. It will not last long. Thiago Silva (AC Milan): The Brazilian was signed from Fluminense in January amid competition from every major club in Europe, but was unable to play until this season. A classy centre back, he will be essential to Milan’s healing process as they try to overcome the loss of Paolo Maldini. Moussa Dembélé (AZ): The Belgian striker was the star of AZ’s title-winning campaign last season, attracting interest from Chelsea and Genoa, among others. His pace in a rapid counter-attacking unit should ensure he remains in the spotlight. ====================================== calon-calon bintang masa depan... tidak ada pemain muda dari United... |

Aturan pemain binaan
